Mangotsfield manager Phil Bater gone ! Got to be the biggest shambles of a football club there is . More managers than Prime Ministers. How they survive is a miracle , player turnover is off the scale . New chairman now but they still keep appointing the same has beens . Go for a young manager who can actually coach rather than just bring in players who leave after 5 minutes . Actually get the local community involved rather than keep the normal closed shop . Why not ask local people with money if they would like to get involved. Will be in County league soon.

Behaviour at youth football has been awful for years , not everyone but certainly enough. It’s a brave and timely decision whether it has any effect is unfortunately unlikely . The big issue is deluded parents reliving their football careers through their child and having completely unrealistic expectations of them making it. If your still playing u16 Avon youth league your chances of making it are virtually nil . With the hoovering up of anyone with any talent that the professional clubs do players in general are well out of these leagues before u16.

No big surprise, we think we have problems Yate are an absolute mess of a club more departures than from Temple Meads . Wouldn’t be sending them any loan players . Every time I read their news something negative is going on , can see them dropping fairly quickly unless they get new leadership . On another non league note what a shambles at Bitton who without warning have pulled out of western premier league . The club have thrown money away the last few years on overpaid star players and were bottom of the league . Why didn’t the chairman give up control and get someone in rather than fold the team .

Just watching the Rugby League playoffs , first thing quite an interesting game involving a blatant body check which resulted in a scuffle and a Sin bin . Whole issue dealt with by ref and linos, heard every word between them and when talking to players . No messing, clear explanation ,move on . What a difference from guess what’s going on with our refs . Also no analysis by commentators after dealt with .

Guessing lots of people might want to do something this afternoon apart from DIY. I’ve worked all week and look forward to my Saturday sport it’s a lifetime habit . I’m off to watch Cleeve Rugby at 3 playing Old Bristolians where I am sure I will be able to pay my respects to the Queen.

Would much rather be able to show my respect by observing a silence than to have to have an official mourning period whatever that entails . Surely a fantastic lady who has done everything and lived to 96 should have their life celebrated . When the funeral takes place cancel everything during that time and give people the option to watch or not .
