  1. I said at the start of the season. Meaning not looking at the table now, but at the start of the season I suspect most fans would have expected 2 wins and 3 draws, or 3 wins from the next six. Right now, I would struggle to see us winning any of them.
  2. Between now and November 1st, we have 6 games, of which 4 of them are at home. I think pre season, many fans would look at the games and have felt we would have said 9pts from these 6 fixtures would be achievable and not unrealistic. The position we find ourselves in, is that the next 6 games will mean we will have played 19 games and therefore we would be near enough at the mid point of the season. To not be in a relegation dogfight, you would hope that you would have at least 22pts on the board, anything below that is relegation form. Our goal difference of -1 is better than all bar one of the teams below us, and level with the other, so in many ways if we sure up our defence, we should have some advantage over the teams below us. That said we are 4pts ahead of West Brom and Huddersfield, who many will have argued should or would not likely find themselves in this position. With new managers and maybe a bit of form, you would fancy them to turn their season's around, and not be relegation candidates. I personally feel the next 6 games will define our season. We face only West Brom who are below us, and play 8th, 13th, 5th, 6th and 1st in that order in the other games. Whilst pre season, it could have been expected to draw 9pts or thereabouts from these 6 fixtures, any less than 7pts would likely leave us in a position where a relegation battle is upon us. For me Wednesday is crucial, we have to stop the rot, a 0-0 draw would actually be a good result but Preston will be full of confidence. Millwall are never easy, and West Brom away will be tough. The next three after this, will be extremely tough. Being optimistic I would say a draw against Preston, and Millwall, before a loss to West Brom, a draw at Reading (a team we often do well against), before defeats to Swansea and Sheffield United. The way we are playing, this is all I can see us getting at best, which means after 19 games, we may only have 18pts. This isn't meant to come across all doom and gloom, but the fact is, we have looked poor in our last three games, the defence is held together by a shoe-string. Weimann has gone missing, and our midfield is very ineffective at times. It comes to something when we are missing Matty James, a player who overall has been very poor for us, except on the odd occasion. I hope we can turn this around and get the 7-9pts we realistically need from these fixtures, but I think that most fans will agree, that any less than 7pts from the next 6, and we are in a relegation battle.
  3. Nothing like a manager sacking to spur a team into form. West Brom a week Tuesday doesn't feel so winnable anymore. I dunno, his name is probably enough to get some foreign gig somewhere for one final payday.
  4. Maybe, but I would trust Holloway to do a better job here than Pearson.
  5. I think humour is wasted on people. I was simply referring to the two managers Robbored thinks are proper managers have done precious little here ...
  6. I love this comment so many put. We sold NO ONE last season pretty much, and the squad was not going down under Holden or Johnson before him. In many ways, we were better, yet apparently having been solid mid table, just outside the playoffs for a few years, the remit is suddenly not to get relegated.
  7. Good ole Roy De Alien. But tbh we could do a lot worse than Roy Keane truth be told, the players wouldn't have been quaking at half time yesterday if he was in charge. I think the hairdryer treatment is very much missing, and its too much no fear or favour now.
  8. I always find it a worry that defensively we are awful, especially when the manager was a defender and a leader himself. If he can't sort out a solid defence, it begs the question what he can actually do.
  9. Done I actually enjoy watching Women's football on TV, but have never been to a live game, but don't have desire to either. I can barely afford to watch BCFC 4/5 a season, so watching the Women's team is really just an online thing for me. If the club offered a £50 package to watch all the Women's games live online for the season, I probably would.
  10. Nah, Curbs, he's bound to have a house in Bristol he can move into.
  11. Shouting and Screaming is one thing, getting the team to turn it around is another. Preston full of confidence, will fancy banging a few past us.
  12. None of that has been achieved with Pearson at the helm ...... 4 of your points with a Johnson at the helm. Oh what I would give for a proper manager right now .....
  13. Not sure the fans are the problem! Support comes hand in hand with good play. Fans will support a team, but when a team gives its fans nothing to support, the atmosphere alone wont change anything.
  14. Robin for life, not Pearson for life. There's a difference!
  15. Second half been worse than the first half and this could easily end up 4-0. Get beat on Wednesday and sack him.
  16. To me, I think that NP thinks he is bigger than the club, like he's doing us a favour by being here and he talks with such arrogance. When we are good, he laps it up, when we are shocking he takes no responsibility. Sometimes it's not about who you get to replace a manager, it's about wondering if you're employing someone who actually is up for the fight, and isn't in the feeling that oh well, I'll retire when they sack me anyway. He said earlier in the season, he nearly walked away from football, this is his last job. People always say he talks sense in his interviews, but he actually states the bleeding obvious and when things aren't good he's so depressive and that's got to have an impact on the players. I had big hopes with NP, but for all he's had no budget to work with, I feel like we could get relegated and he wouldn't really care, he'll just retire. I am not saying press the panic button and sack him yet, but something has to give sooner rather than later.
  17. Nope , someone who is concerned at how we can be great one game and awful the next, but we don't bounce back. This is going to be 4 defeats and a draw from 5 games, 2 of which against opposition we REALLY need to be beating if we aren't going to be in a relagation scrap.
  18. We could have sorted our financial issues by selling Scott / Semenyo. You think will get 10-15m for Semenyo if we go down, we wont get 5m.
  19. Doing well? How? The players who have done well this season, Scott, Semenyo, Bentley, Conway, Wells, & Wiemann were all here before NP, only Atkinson and Naismith, have looked decent of the NP brigade. We look awful. Defensively we are shocking, yes we have injuries, but we just look poor. The players look like they have no fight in them. The golden boys, suddenly don't even look bronze and they KNOW that they will be sold to the highest bidders in January or the summer, so why would they care, if their future isn't with City. We are no better now, than we were when Pearson took over, but apparently because we were in a financial mess, it's not his fault, that we are getting progressively worse and are so inconsistent. WE are no better now than we were with Johnson or Holden. Financially we are still screwed, but I would not trust Pearson to replace, Scott, or Semenyo with the money that comes in when they are sold.
  20. The facts are, this is very much Pearson's team out there. It's his tactics and he can't hide behind the past anymore. He's had 4 windows now and are we going forwards or backwards. We are playing long ball, hoof and hope. Forwards don't even get a look in and the defence is beyond shocking. The players don't even look bothered either.
  21. 4pts above the drop zone on live standings. Got a feeling that on this run, one of the two managers in charge going into the West Brom game, may not be in charge after it.
  22. Even if we lose today, Pearson still has 12 games to go without a win, before he matches the prodigal one.
