I read somewhere that the London Lionesses have just been bought by a massively wealthy owner who was going to throw money at them. A wealthy owner - just like us then! Oh wait…….
The difference being there's is someone who already has a huge interest in women's football and has only bought a small football club that used to be part of Millwall rather than Bristol Sport.

That is good news.
Any similar (but not long term) news on Kelly, Hemp, Roord, Park and Fowler would be welcome too.- 1

As view from the Dolman says but the tickets are still appearing in my season tickets tab. I guess they might get cancelled.
I assume they were setting up for an announcement soon...presumably after the division we will be playing in next year is decided at the weekend? -

Are they even meant to be on sale yet? Haven't see any announcement of details but can also see the option to renew if I log in to the ticket site...
It does seem a little odd. I logged in for something else (to do with the men's team) and spotted the renewal option.

Just renewed my season tickets for next year. Same seat at Ashton Gate. I guess it's easy enough to move it to the HPC if they don't sell many but...

You've got to be on a wind up?
They played almost constantly through the 90 minutes, offering nothing to the atmosphere
I've never been aware of this at any UK ground apart from ours
People are there to watch a football match not some two bob drum outfit
The only benefit of the drummers is that they are on the other side of the stadium and have stopped the drum being among the fans.
No offence to the excellent fans with the drum last season and the start of this but it does not help tinnitus.

You might also have been temporarily blinded given the very long thread debating it.

You are painting people who disagree with you as the extremists
I certainly don't mean to.

Amen. Nice to have the option to listen to people talk about it occasionally on the radio too.

Good lord. You really do want to argue with someone who thinks that don't you?
Anyway, back to the thread.
-
Again, please try and argue with a point I have made rather than one I haven't.
Just to be clear, I do not think (and nobody else does either) that most people who listen to Sound of the City don't like Bristol City men's team.

What you have posted is worthy of challenge, as it is nonsense.
Great. Please do then, rather than pretending I was talking about listeners to Sound of the City on that post.

Which for most people comprises the the men's first team with some interest in the U23s and youth as reserves or players of the future.
I wonder if that's why the BBC have dedicated the overwhelming majority of the show over the season to the men?
-
Fair enough. It's easier for you to argue with that than what I am actually saying or think.
Go ahead.

If you want to argue with someone who thinks that most people who listen to SOTC don't like the men's team, you'll have to look elsewhere.

I would also object if Formula 1 was covered in SOTC.
Do would I. It's about Bristol City football.

Read your own post!
"Most people aren't interested in Bristol City men either. Lots are though. And huge numbers of people are interested in women's football too."
Exactly what I said.

You referred to most people being disinterested in the mens team and huge numbers being interested in the womens team.
No I didn't. I said most people aren't interested in Bristol City men and lots of people are interested in women's football.
Yes, more people support the men's team but if all football reporting was only about the most popular teams, local radio would be so much the poorer.

There is really no comparison in terms of interest between the two versions of the sport.
If all football reporting was only focused on the most popular teams, it would be rubbish.

Thanks again for the heads up. Really interesting chat about the Bristol City Women's team after the slightly less interesting chat about the Bristol City Men's team.
Personally, I'm delighted we have a radio show dedicated to our club.
It's a shame that some are so vehemently against women's football but I don't mind them forcing their opinions on us all.
