Funny, but not true Ronnie as most of the tanning salons in Southend had already gone bust when Steve Jones (formerly of this parish) moved on from Southend to The Chair boys.

Thought he was superb throughout. Loved that he waited a second or two to see if an advantage could be had before blowing his whistle!!

29th October 2005 At Ashton Gate, Bristol City 0 Southend Utd 3, with a certain Mr Eastwood getting a hat trick. I live near Southend and it was particularly galling as I took a lot of stick off my ‘Shrimper’ mates. Southend that day were managed by none other than the gas record signing, Steve Tillson.
