  1. I agree I think The Ox and Milner are basically already gone, which is why I didn't mention them, think if Kieta and Fabinho go then they will replace them with top proven quality in top leagues, same as Henderson, but I don't think him or Jones will go. Think if they get Scott it'll be like a carbon copy of when they signed Carvalho, which isn't much game time, couple of cameo appearances.
  2. They have Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliot and Stefan Bajetic, all young and probably ahead of Scott at the moment, add their experienced players in there - Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago, Kieta. And they also played Trent in the middle against Arsenal (Which was his position throughout his life until a RB crisis). That's 8, so probably putting Scott 9th, maybe 8th ahead of Kieta, they don't have European football next season, so no need to rotate as much, and that's before any signings they make - which, by the looks of it, they desperately need. It could be a good move, look at Foden staying at Man City, training and learning off of Pep and the experienced players, but that's rare, most progress the most playing games, and I don't think he'd get many minutes at Liverpool. Would be hard to turn down Klopp and Liverpool though. All speculation, we shall see this summer, or hopefully not.
  3. I agree, I think that Southgate has made the team very well knitted together, and they all seem to be very close, which is fantastic, and that's why England are so much better off now and for the future, but I don't think he's the man to take us over the line and winning silverware. Argument for both sides - he's got us far in tournaments, but his team selections along with contradicting reasoning and management in games are very questionable. One thing I am with Southgate on is not picking Adam Webster - love the man, loved him at City, but with the current crop available and not making the side, don't think he should be getting a look in, albeit despite him having great ability. Don't want this thread to turn into a Southgate in or out, I'm sure there's been about 30 of them!
  4. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65190000 Ched Evans requiring surgery due to a 'serious medical condition' Don't want to say that it's karma after seemingly hitting Alex Scott but... This bloke has had a hell of a turbulent life.
  5. He's still only beat one decent side really in his years in charge (Germany). That, paired with extremely boring, defensive, slow football. He's not won anything, and that to me shows no success. Going off topic though, I apologise. Dunk will be over Webster 100%, Villa aren't playing badly, so maybe Mings gets back in, and Konsa also gets a look in (I'd prefer Konsa). Ben Mee is a fantastic player I think, who will be over Webster, and that's not including the two abroad - Tomori has recovered from poor form at the start of the season and Smalling has been playing good football for a couple of years now. I think the ship has sailed for Webster representing England unfortunately due to the amount of options available.
  6. They should bring in a law to say that only the captain can talk to the referee during a game. Start of next season, no booking or red on the pitch, but afterwards, they get banned for the next game - are you really going to question a ref to miss the next game? Would be stamped out pretty quickly. The same with diving in my opinion. I'm no lover of referees, but they need all the help they can get, especially with the quality (or lack of) at the moment. Along with the time wasting, VAR taking 5 minutes to make a decision and diving, the whole fiasco of all 22 players hounding the referee at every decision is really making football harder and harder to watch.
  7. Does the whole kids' prices change anything? It's promoting Bristol City to a younger generation. City never sell out (Bar Man City), so it's not depriving anyone of a ticket. A lot of kids will struggle to get to City if you look at the amateur game - Bristol has the biggest Saturday grassroots football scene in the UK, as opposed to most other regions, who play on a Sunday, so that will play a huge factor in it, kids not being able to get there on a Saturday due to playing. When they grow up a lot of them won't carry it on, but they'll hopefully support City rather than supporting one of the 'big clubs', which is why I believe the incentive is there for the cheap tickets. They should monitor the age of ticket going through though, as I believe this is what often happens, but that is done at most clubs. Can only imagine the queues at a big game if they did this though.
  8. Interesting that it's come out what a year after the fight took place? Boxing trying it's best to become an extremely hated sport!
  9. Same, which 5 years ago you'd be laughed at for even thinking it
  10. 50/50 fight with about 12 PPV buys I reckon
  11. Awful main event, not much of a great card either, only really enjoyed the Yafai fight. AJ still scared to drop the left in order to throw the right, which he hasn't done since the first Ruiz fight and is the only thing that makes him dangerous. Joyce runs through him and Whyte gives him a very close fight, aside from that, not much else out there that's really worth it... Inoue should be a far more exciting fight this weekend coming. Sick of heavyweight boxing now, it's pretty comical.
  12. Biggest win surely between Molina or Breazeale. Ortiz is a bit over the hill for me, another poor resume for a heavyweight boxer, pretty similar to Fury and AJ's really I'd say? But I don't think you can become a world champion and defend it multiple times without becoming somewhat of a decent boxer, even if it doesn't look like he's technically fantastic? Don't think any of the three will go down as phenomenal, because none of them are fighting top level boxers, maybe bar AJ, but obviously lost when he fought Usyk. Think the only way any of the current crop of heavyweights become a great is if the belts get unified, which, unless the WBC take it off of Fury, won't happen unfortunately.
  13. A great boxer no doubt, and a character - not one I'm a fan of, but a character for sure. Him and Mayweather trying their hardest to put the sport into the ground, the antics from both are awful, especially Fury, who may as well be retired. With the resume (or lack of) certainly won't go down as a great, for me at least. Needs Usyk and Joshua to do that, which is a shame because I think he has the talent to go down as one of the heavyweight greats, if a drugs cheat can go down as a great... Has done a very good job of manipulating a large part of the nation for a very long time though, and I'm sure he'll win Chisora 4, 5, 6 and 7 comfortably.
  14. A three at the back of Tanner, Vyner and Pring does not fill me with any confidence whatsoever; young, lightweight and inexperienced at this level. I think I'd stick to a 4 at the back, with maybe Pring joining Vyner and DaSilva coming in at left back, Don't think after seeing the u21s lineup that any of them will be coming in, unless Knight-Lebel is fit. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but we have a very small squad, pair that with a decent cup run and injuries are always going to play a part at some point. Would've been nice to still have the option of Klose and Towler, but I don't think anyone could've predicted Towler's rise in form, and at the time probably wasn't going to get a look in. I'd say get a couple of youngsters in and around the squad, we're pretty rooted in mid table.
