  1. Disregard the other lot, this is like Liverpool bringing out a boring James Milner line of clobber
  2. No I’d rather wear fruit of the loom
  3. That should be their hope, not ours. And their hope shouldn’t be systems based, rather we fall on the Lansdown side of it (eg lemmings) I think they’re in for a shock, and IT is the least of their concerns.
  4. For all those who have renewed or are considering renewing… they’re literally taking the piss out of you right now. Don’t buy this ‘if you don’t renew in the south stand you’ll lose your seat forever’. When they can’t flog a potd ticket they’ll beg you to come back. Even seats that have already been paid for they can’t fill!
  5. I don’t think he left it in that bad a state, but maybe my memory is playing up. Just looking at the squad we finished his reign with, it looks alright on paper. Just fast forward to the god awful transfer window we had after he left and there lies the mess signing the likes of Damien Stewart, Nicky hunt, David James and martyn woolford to name just a few on long term deals that hamstrung the club. He left a decent nucleus and I’d say the only losses we had going out the door were Orr and Hartley (and Sno, but criminally underused him and that is a stick to beat him with). The state if anything was SL pissing off Coppell, and Coppell buying shite
  6. Spot on, but I don't think it's that remote to be honest. I can see a situation where Derby re-sign him from us. Not quite the same, but Carey and Murray both left us and although they kicked a ball for Cov and Reading respectively, they were back within 6 or 9 months. Didn't Carey have his contract at Cov cancelled and was re-signed by a certain snake?
  7. I’m not convinced they do on average. I think they are just as likely to grab a pint in north street and buy a Clark’s pasty. They’re only a captive audience for 90 minutes. And they’re more likely to be Bristolian or aware of the amenities around the stadium. Our club shop is absolute litter as well so I don’t think they are spending there. All I can see is they maybe have 1-2 pints on the concourse on the day over what a season ticket holder may spend, which is far less than a season ticket holder over the course They are also only likely to even be there for a glamour match for which we would sell out anyway or a cheap promotional potd ticket - a category A / gold game however the club market it now, or a promotional giveaway such as a bring a friend for a tenner game to season ticket holders. It seems to me we are banking on good cup draws in reality.
  8. For established premier league sides, or for ones with a nation’s golden player, perhaps, but that simply doesn’t ring true for Bristol City. I doubt we have any ‘tourist’ fans in reality. Fleeting people who will come to a big draw cup game, and those who will come occasionally as and when they can because their circumstances dictate they can’t always come. But Id wager I could count with the pair of bollox I have the amount of fans coming here each year of the type that the likes of Spurs and Liverpool want to ensure availability for. Anyway it doesn’t really matter. The south stand has become a free for all anyway. So many just walk around the stadium and chance finding a seat. If I lose my season ticket there and the ability to buy one, not really that arsed because I’ll walk into the lansdown and walk round like countless young ‘uns do already and anyway, so there’s not really a stick there with this new policy which is forcing me to renew.
  9. Totally agree. This group is capable of so much more. Top 10 and threatening playoffs to whet the appetite for a little investment. Instead it looks like paying to avoid relegation
  10. I gave a facepalm reluctantly. But when you lay it out, sorry mate, but I think I would do better. He is only one part of a wider problem and I agree with 90% of your post, but we can’t excuse manning for getting so little out of this squad, and what’s worse, depreciating our assets.
  11. I could stomach manning but he has probably wiped millions off of Conways valuation, has shown himself to be completely dogmatic agnostic of players, keeps persevering with insanity and again shows no flexibility. And then to top it off again today he blames the players and says ‘not me’. His post march presser was a 0/10 as many have been recently. The fact he cannot and will not self reflect shows to me if he’s ‘learning on the job’ - as Tinnion says - he ain’t bloody well learning. time to say goodbye
  12. Oh I would, because I’m about to get hundreds of thousands out of him and then get a job in league one again because I managed in the championship

I suggested you failed your MOT last week, but maybe should suck that back a week on, because reading your whole post does feel that you’ve become resigned this has been a poor appointment However, I do disagree with the bit in bold. He’s already shown himself not good enough, we’ve moved into territory where he now needs to justify he’s worth persevering with. Otherwise it’s the ‘insanity doing the same thing over and over’. I guess the large point I’m making is last week you and I were polar opposites, @Harry was very happy initially we appointed him, and posts this thread tonight, it really does seem today, LM has lost the fans. and I do have a long enough memory of some of our shit managers - Pulis, Osman, a few others but say to many more and you’ll then be painted with an agenda. I’m sorry but LM is up there because of how he is treating and speaking of the players publicly. He’s an ‘Everyone else but not me guv tosser’ which makes him the worst for me.
  14. Normally I wouldn’t even think about it. Absolutely not. In an ideal world we’d turn a corner and be a success under Manning and Tinnion. But I soon have to decide to renew my season ticket in the SS or risk not getting in there again. If I know for sure LM stays, I do not renew right now. So sadly yes I want him gone at any cost. Because otherwise I’m going to have a head v heart decision to make. his post match presser was the end of the road for me that for the greater good, yes, get him gone.

Same Robbo - which unfortunately I think shows the strength of feeling for me that I’d mention Manning easily in the same breath but would also go as far as to dislike further. To see him criticise these players when he’s asking them to play to their weaknesses is the absolute worst. SOD and Pulis set us up shite; manning does that but then publicly flogs young players whilst admonishing him of any responsibility.

I get that Robbo. TP was an absolute sag agent and the football under him was dross, but the regression under manning and seeing him completely devalue our players such as Conway and to see him completely hammer a squad full of young players publicly when it’s clear to all that he’s the problem makes me dislike him so much.

I honestly think he’s the worst manager we’ve had in my timeframe. He ranks lower than Pulis for me. He’s constantly and publicly criticising players whilst holding on to him having done nothing wrong. Sling your fking hook, Liam. You are not only a piss poor manager, a terrible man manager, you’re clearly a complete helmet which thinks the sun shines out of your own backside too.
  18. Access to some form of recreation is a basic need.

Steve Cotterill is an incredibly talented football manager who unfortunately has never really caught the break that would see him hit the heights that his skills -for me - undoubtedly deserves. He has either suffered from being a firefighter or not backed to the extent he deserves when he has brought success. I think he’s criminally underrated. one of SL’s biggest regrets, what ifs, and sleepless nights should be ‘if I just backed him immediately after promotion’. That’s the Ipswich model mate
  20. That’s why I take issue with a lot of ‘new wave’ managers. They’re too rigid. They think recycle, prod, go again is the only way and want to play that way, but the really top managers, their sides mix it up far more than any of these wannabes want to allow their sides the freedom to do so.
  21. I’d go even further and question why is ‘long ball’ a problem. We aren’t talking Joe Kinnear at Wimbledon; even Man City’s pep play ‘long ball’ with Ederson’s distribution at times, but the coaching manual tells you that you must recycle the ball between defence and midfield until the opposition are drawn out of position incessantly. I say bollox, try the diagonal in behind for the pacy winger to do their magic (cut inside our take on the outside) and hey, if it goes out, let’s hope they’re as crap at throw ins as we are! that can be done with a 4-3-3 easily (Liverpool do). So I agree with you formations overrated, but playing direct is sniffed at, stupidly, when many top teams play a very mixed style. Too many teams try to emulate a sole style whereas the top teams who are capable of drawing out opposition even themselves play pretty direct at times.
  22. Innit mate. We shouldn’t have brought Alex Scott through so fast and we could have won that a few years back
  23. Yeah you failed your mot mate. Tell me at any point that was anti nige rather than anti SL? I actually mention sacking Pearson was a massive mistake - not to be taken in isolation. Thanks for proving me to be nigeywigey though
  24. I think that roller has failed it’s MOT mate
  25. No one was clamouring to hear from Tinnion publicly? Are you an ostrich?
