A top flight team once gave a debut to a 25 year old striker who, prior to that, had never played a game in the football league in his life. That first season with them he finished as the top goalscorer in the whole of the football league.

Can you name the club and the forward?

    Leicester and Vardy

Never lived in Bristol for any significant period of time, but spent most of my life in smaller places around Bristol and North Wilts. My Dad was a City fan (had family in Bedminster and Pill), and so I became a City fan. There's not many City fans in Corsham (not many people in Corsham), but randomly doing a course with another City fan who lives 5 minutes away away from me.

I grew up in Bath (a short walk from a famous City fan, Rick Marsh) and knew many others who would make the journey to BS3 on a matchday.

Good lad Ricky...never a dull moment with him around 😉

As someone said in another place the problem with rule by committee is that you want to create thoroughbred horses but you end up with camels. I've never been a SL basher, and feel many things have gone awry since he walked away from daily control, but I hold no such reservations about his son Jon who doesn't possess the business acumen of his father and his public relations are frightenly wanting. I just don't have any belief in a man who doesn't deliver on his promises, such as the club's appropriate tribute to Terry Cooper. It's not that long to the 3rd anniversary of his untimely death. How much longer do we have to wait? The 5th anniversary, the 10th?

    I would go for 40 years 🤦

Worst day ever….was in the home end stood against fence behind goal that Holloway scored the penalty at. Left early only to be met by a mob of City who were baying for blood in the car park  and I was one of their targets.  Thank god we had City membership cards back in those days as it saved me from a hiding until a couple of lads I knew confirmed I was City.

Me too..I was In the Rovers end right in the corner...not a pleasant experience...I got met by a few City and luckily one of them recognised me...it was a very bad night.

  5. Not read all of this so these might be in here but 2 of mine are being behind someone at a bar and they order 8 pints of Guinness and 6 coffees and being behind someone in a shop that is buying about 60 lottery tickets or buying scratch cards and doing them at the counter to see if they have won anything and if they have they get some more and check them.🤦
