I remember a game at Leeds a few years back and the ques for the cubicles were pretty much non stop all through the game and the urinals were always free, there could have been loads of City fans with upset stomachs of course !?
A mate of mine was on a banning order when we played Stoke at Wembley, he racked up wearing a scouse wig and a pair of Groucho Marx glasses, as we walked up to the ground a Bristol copper clocked him and said "hello @@@@@@ what are you doing here, I thought you were banned" didn't make any effort to stop him going to the game.......... sorry to go off topic !
I think "reap what you sow" is a very valid point, most away fans moan at our prices, it is London, so prices will be higher, too expensive for a Championship game in my opinion but we will still sell out.
Was a great night, always annoys me when people say they are not interested in cup runs and play the kids etc, those games don't come along too often for a club like ours.
That's it ! Most games were showing a big difference in announced attendance and actual attendance, Sheffield Wednesday game had an announced crowd of 22k but there were only 15k in the ground although I think that was due to heavy snow in the area. I'm sure I have read somewhere that between 10 and 20% of season ticket holders can be expected not to attend any given game.
They do keep an 'actual' figure, they released them the year of the cup run, not sure what the reason was but think it was something to do with parking issues with BCC.
And yet Stoke fans were saying a few weeks back how the were impressed with the vocal support from City fans although I do agree that quite often it is piss poor.
Fairly sure all clubs do it now, think it's to do with tax purposes as in they have to announce how many tickets have been sold. I have seen actual attendance figures at AG and I'm sure in normal circumstances it's about 1500 less than ticket sales on average, today wasn't normal circumstances to be fair.
