  1. Thought the boys that travelled over from the Netherlands for yesterday’s match were an absolute credit. Did not stop singing all game which made up for the lack of entertainment on the pitch. Some good new songs as well. I’ve been aware of the link between fans of the two clubs for a long while now. Just wondered what’s the story there? How did it start? We went over to Tilburg in February for a music festival but will definitely need to check out a Willem II match if we go again.
  2. There’s a huge difference between saying “I’ll take that” before the match in comparison with after. We largely got battered. Max has saved us from a comfortable loss. So yes, I am taking a 0-0 based on how the game went.
  3. As the gaffer likes to say: “Don’t let the highs get too high and the lows too low” These posts in either direction after every result are so unhelpful.
  4. The audacity of using “On the grass!” as part of this drivel. I really hope it was on purpose as banter because that would be fantastic
  5. I will never forget Derek McInnes’ last match. The whole stadium singing “**** off McInnes, Get out of our club” He was sacked after this. Shame “Manning” only has two syllables
  6. Us and The Gas having a really good battle this afternoon of who can be the bigger embarrassments to Bristol football.
  7. What we need is a creative player to change the game for us. I wonder if we have one of those on the bench
  8. Positives: Moving the £50 kids tickets to the upper Lansdown. Negatives: Literally everthing else about this renewal announcement.
  9. That is actually wild, I did not know that was the case.
  10. He definitely wasn’t happy with the booing. Shouting obscenities towards the home fans.
  11. I cannot fathom how bad we have been today. Would be an absolute travesty if we get anything out of this. So frustrating!
  12. So predictable .. always rubbish against teams lower down the table.
  13. Would have liked Mebude to have been given an opportunity there. Sykes clearly hasn’t got that many minutes in him at the moment.
  14. They are growing in confidence. Albeit from passing the ball around the defenders and GK. They’re trying to turn this into a bore fest.
  15. 7 points in the end when it really should have been 9. Funny old game football Now let’s see how we do against teams below us in the league. Could be an exciting end to the season
  16. I think the hope is always promotion. We have the infrastructure and we have the catchment area. If we were a Premier League team we would sell out Ashton Gate every week without fail. The current challenge is how on earth do we achieve that. The current structure with parachute payments combined with FFP make it incredibly difficult for clubs like us to achieve promotion. In all liklihood Leicester, Leeds and Southampton will go straight back up this season. We've recently seen the quality of one of those teams and over the next few weeks we could easily be on the end of hiding from the other two as well. The gap between those three and the rest of the league is absolutely huge and quite simply insurmountable apart from very odd occasions. Which comes on to the typical examples where others have managed to do it. Brentford and Brighton are good examples. Forest and Luton possibly too but they will probably be back in the Championship by the start of the 25/26 season. In all of those cases they are extremely well run clubs who have recruited well both on and off the pitch. That is not easy to achieve. The Landsowns are far from perfect but we need to appreciate the incredibly difficult task they face. To those who think getting rid of the Lansdowns is the only way to achieve promotion all I say is be careful what you wish for. Given where I live all I hear about are my mates being concerned about if their club (Reading) will soon cease to exist. Being a Bristol City fan in recent years feels a little bit like Groundhog day. Not poor enough to go down, not good enough to go up. Which makes it all a little bit boring. Realistically, the only way we get to the Premier League is if the European Super League happens getting rid of the big money clubs.
  17. The details of the policy are here: https://www.brentfordfc.com/en/new-policy-for-season-tickets I really like idea. Seems fair enough so that it is quite difficult to get the "yellow card". We aren't yet in a position where this is required though and won't be until we reach the promise land (so probably never )
  18. Interesting. I guess your situation is different to ours where the supply is much greater. Last night was quite a rare occurance. As others have said, enforcement for us would be a probably OTT. But a resale platform shouldn’t really be a tough ask for a championship club.
  19. Didn’t realise about the birth certificate thing. Thanks for explaining that. My thinking around enforcement is that it wouldn’t be automatic. The STH would initially be contacted to see what’s going on. A resale platform would probably mitigate the need for any enforcement.
  20. I apologise if I’m going over a topic which has been discussed before but it struck me how last night’s “sold out” home game was far from it. There seems to be a big issue with no-shows. What is driving this issue? Of course not all STHs can make every game. I heard a theory last night that people bought an under 12s ST just to get a free shirt and/or to give themselves more space. What could the club do to combat this? Perhaps creating a proper resale platform? Or some kind of enforcement if a season ticket is a no-show for say 3/4 home games in a row. Seems like the club are missing out on an easy win with a resale platform which would generate more ticket and food/drink revenue.
