No, this is exactly what philosophy / system we were told when we met RG and Gilhespy Feb / March 2022.  It’s the same as when I met Rennie just before pre-season.

The change they appear to want is executing it better (on the pitch)!!!!  That’s fair - but I think no Scott impacts that!!!

Recruitment won’t change, it’s what they’ve recruited to for last few windows. Budget constrains execution.

This is being made to sound like a change. It isn’t.

    fair enough.

From what Tinnion said, I honestly don’t think he was coming up with much different to what we were trying to do. You put Alex Scott in our team this season it’s hugely different. Players make systems, not the other way around (generally speaking).

And that is what they are trying to change if I heard them correctly. Philosophy and formation first and finding players to suit. Academy playing the same way etc. Swansea(alike).

If the three boys are fit you could easily see Tanner Vyner Dickie Pring with TGH Naismith and knight in front. That looks so much better doesn’t it. Maybe next week?

Naismith in midfield for me (quarter back role).

May be deceiving but looks like he makes a lot of mistakes as last man in defence, not sure it there are stats for such a thing.

If you’ve seen the kinds of alleged ITK stuff I’ve read this week, you’ll have seen multiple stories, ranging from as you suggest that he walked over Pearson, to the opposite that Pearson walked over him, and other theories in between.

Hence my thoughts that stuff is being purposely put out there.

    They were all sacked.

I'd expect quite a lot, but I would suggest it's probably appreciated as wise counsel not interference. Taken to it's extreme, if it had been Sir Alex who questioned Andy King's selection at centre back I reckon Nige would have taken it quite differently.

Nope - interference if you are the current manager.

Ferguson showed in his final year his time had gone and got out as he saw what was coming.

Can we now include the fact NP’s sacking has proved that it is a myth that Steve Lansdown is a very patient owner. He’s only patient if your name is Lee Johnson.

Wasn't Pearson the 2nd longest serving Manager in the Division ?

Straws being grasped at desperately here, if he was unwell they couldn't sack him, nobody can sack someone based on ill health

Buying too much into sound bites that the club have released recently

It's no secret internally NPs days have been numbered but the axe started swinging after the Leeds fixture

This was the issue they had before, wanted to get rid but had to pull back last minute re- health issues. They have had to wait for a different "trigger" to move him on, possibly performance related.

Again, I reference the day of the Radio Bristol interview by Gould that was hastily arranged and the media being summoned to the HPC.

    Interesting day that.

If you look at the dismissals of Holden and Johnson, they were deserved based on form and the fanbase was pretty much in agreement with the sackings. The sackings were also for clear failure on the pitch. I think the big difference this time, was the vast majority of fans approved with what NP was doing, and there is sufficient evidence that a big part of his dismissal was down to internal politics. That has led to a real downer on a owner, who lets face it, looks like he has checked out, and for some NP has become a club legend - which is a bit weird. So yeah - Lansdown isnt winning a popularity vote against Pearson thats for sure.

You have to think that there were major problems behind the scenes in the working relationships. There would have been targets for performance/league position set before the season and those obviously have not been met (rightly or wrongly). Massive injury list, getting worse.

In time more will come out but I have a feeling they have been trying to "manage out" NP ever since that strange Radio Bristol 6pm interview was hastily arranged and all the media guys were called to the HPC and then Gould said practically nothing on air.

    Worth a watch.

Very much considers himself a coach and prefers to coach younger players.

Certainly fits what we have stated we are looking for.

This would certainly raise the club profile (Internationally also) and that is obviously not a bad thing if you are looking to sell.

I’m close to a parent of a youth team member who was on the bench for the 1st team on Saturday……. I asked info on Pearson and he said they get told **** all!!! So I doubt a youth team members dad gets kept in the loop with manger interviews you muppet 😂😂 go to bed school tomorrow!

You are probably right but could have put it in a nicer way !

It is certainly possible however for youth team players to see the comings and goings at the HPC and although the First Team and Academy Offices are at opposite ends of the building the canteen is in the middle and everyone mixes to a large degree.

Some of the youth team will know early on, certainly who has been in the building, if not who has the job.
