  1. After the Everton debacle; lose ten points, get some back, here we go again, BBC confirm Forest are to lose 4 but then have another day in court to contest the deduction. If Leicester go up they could be deducted up to 10 points before their season starts - so maybe they will deliberately lose to us next Friday and take the hit this season. Again, no mention of 155 charges against Man City Wasnt it great when a goal given by the ref was a goal (no VAR) and when the teams who had most points went up and the teams with the least points went down? Now we are watching EPL and EFL Farce shows every year
  2. Dont know what kind of world you live in; poor win ratio, leaves the club after 30 months without the ability to score goals, during his best season with W-S-M up front (none of whom he recruited) he coached us to concede 77 goals - that is seventy seven. Fans might sing; "you stole a wage, you stole a wage"
  3. Perfect assessment with no disputes at all from me. As another pointed out 'trading' hasnt gone particularly badly recently though there are many ways of looking at it. Getting to B'ham very early yesterday a large group of us dissected exactly these players above and some felt Alexander rather than Pearson had messed up with Anis but an almost unanamous agreement with your view; - wow, that's unusual!. Fact is we miss Mark Ashton but 'Super Traderes' dont come along and we were lucky enough to have him for 6 years (apparenly JL over-ruling him by recruiting Pearson was the reason?). Since then with the after-affects of Covid, SL quite rightly not wanting to personally subsidize us as much as he has, and the market generally I'd add it has been hard to trade well so .."OK but great" would be my summary. And as for those jokers wanting to encourage others not to renew STs (dont even get me started), just think what kind of money we will have if we dont get ST money in early? For the genius who came up with that post, he was probably far, far too wise to even go to WBA, then advise to Constant Robin, is just do what you like, dont try to influence sheep with your stupid, financially naive ideas. BTW, I hear Reading are getting even closer to their final chapter this week so be careful what you want with replacing people who have played/watched more than most on this forum with people you've never heard of!
  4. wow you have time to digest what our esteemed leader has to say then take it aart. I guess i didnt see you commenting on what Pearson said post match, even though he could talk for hours, all he ever said was "yeah, it's really frustrating..blah blah - i dont know how we will stop giving away goals when we should have made better decision"; If you could ever bear to listen to the clown for 30 months, you would know exactly what i mean. At least now, Liam talks footballing lingo albeit too frequently interspersed with "yeah, in terms of" (which actually says nothing!) All coaches have to speak to the fans for x mins per week which is a great shame. Alan Dicks would give a 5 min preview of the upcoming game and a 3 line quote, if we were lucky, after the match and that was when there really was a lot to talk about in the top division
  5. Absolutely correct. Liam's team is much easier to predict than his 2 (3) predecessors which is good for pre-match chat but probably easier for the oppo coach to read as well. One good thing about Pearson's selections were the oppo had no idea who would play nor in what position; i doubt our players did either and during our most enterprising season under him (21/22) when the 3 three forwards he inherited (W-S-M) scored all those goals, he left his legacy of "we cant defend to save yer life", conceding 77 goals despite some expensive players like Bents and Kalas being available As Graham says, i'm glad to be at the game but cant see us getting anything
  6. Manning overboard, dont jump ship (renew your S.Ticket) or some fans will get stern and rope you in to being anti-City
  7. I disagree. There is a real anti feeling about football in general, with the obscene amounts of money spent and wasted at all top levels (FIFA, Uefa, Saudi P.L) which i suspect we can all understand. At a local level there is a realization we are unlikely to go up (FFP, Parachute etc etc) in the next 10 years although there will generally be one club per season that does break the rule. There is very little chance we will go down as other clubs are badly run, have poorer squads, will get points deducted etc. As a Watford fan friend said to me; we had better get used to playing each other for the next decade and watching bigger clubs go below us and smallest clubs (Luton) temporarily go above us. I cannot see why people want to take the p*** out of our club when our supporters have so much ammo to do the same with our rivals. Maybe its because the gas are no longer rivals. Anyway, i for one have a huge amount of gratitude for the owners, love the stuff Tinns does for the club, especially bringing on academy players so our club can sell and survive. Until we know of a better potential buyer the critics of the Lansdowns should belt up, get behind the club and go to the games, like many of my mates do. I fully appreciate you and others dont see it the way i do but that is fine. What isnt fine is to take the p*** out of our club, on a BCFC forum just to attract attention to yourself
  8. For any comparison being made with our firepower under Liam and the golden boots we were fortunate enough to watch under Pearson (Scott and Semenyo) we have to ask ourselves a hypothetical question; where in the Championship would we be today if Liam had those two playing since he took over?
  9. What kind of 'supporter' are you trying to project yourself as? Total *** who gives OTiB a bad name. I trust kids stuff like this gets moved off the forum?
  10. Does anyone know how much we spent on those two signings? I dont, but heard it was just £300k for Cornick and £1.5m for Mehmeti. Obviously wages are a key element but i doubt either are as high as James, Williams, Dickie Would be good to know but whatever it was, they didnt really improve much on what Pearson already had in Bell, TC, Sykes and Wells. We know forwards tend to cost a disproportionate amount so it will be interesting to see what Stokes turns out to be like
  11. I assume this post is from a fan not the marketing/ticketing department; either way the answer is the same. Was a ST for 20 years, and renewed again when Pearson appointed. It hasnt been good to watch since Covid struck and this season has been a hard watch, home and away. Cost of travel and passing inside our own half would stop me renewing and the TV influence of changing K.O times makes it worse. I will support the club financially who are losing so much money, just as i did in 1982, when we also needed money from true supporters. My mate next to me yesterday said he will always renew until we get foreign owners and that's a fair point too. Those not renewing are not helping this financial mess and the owners/football authorities will still see the attendance figures as being good even if we are losing £millions per month. If we support the club less financially surely it means we will see lower cost-players and the downward spiral then starts?
  12. Poor today and poor nearly every game since the board were persuaded to spend money on him - we all know who did that. Te same person who wanted that Wizzard from Wycombe who was going to make all the difference by being such a maverick - think those were Pearson's words. Both have failed but both played ok at Ipswich and Anis did as much or more than any other forward player today , so who knows. Next season we have bird and Stokes to come in and presumably some money for Liam so build his attacking team around Twine. As has been said many times, what LM inherited as a striking threat was so light weight. Reinforcements already lined up so August should be more entertaining.
  13. Tank de Lord you didnt create another LM/NP thread - Hugely overdone on this Forum. I tink de new breed must be so bored with having to spend so much time, pre-match, post match and at random 'rumour times' as the "new breed" of fan is absurdly 'entitled'. Many seem to think BCFC is their club, that anyone else should throw money at a business losing £millions every month, that they/we deserve to be better than we are, that our manager, med team, scouts, academy coaches etc etc should all be able to turn wins out of most games. I try not to point a finger just at social media for this new breed of fan entitlement but i do think the media in general, with hundreds of hours of football talk per week is a significant factor compared to say 50 yrs ago. I dont think AD spent more than 10 mins per week with the media. Pearson (bless the old boy) spent several hours per week and so it probably is what LM and any next coach has to do contractually?
  14. I believe and hope you are correct. Never a 'season-decider' of course as only 3 points on offer; yes a draw keeps us above the Swans but the natives may get restless if we perform poorly again against teams below us. We are not in free-fall quite yet but defeat on Sunday and at WBA would change this mid-table mediocrity position. I'd say Rotherham are gone, Stoke and Blackburn are on a faster spiral than us but it may be the Pasties game until we all change our thoughts to next season. Shame some of the players already appear to be doing this at home games
  15. I can see a PATTERN to this thread and GATHER you'll mention PLEAT next. There is some real FABRIC to your posts, unlike most on here after we lose
  16. Staggering insight as to how some people think Pearson's win rate of 30% was anywhere near as good as 'Litlle Lee's of 40%. Maths, extenuating circumstance, whatever. Under Little lee we looked like getting to the P.Os until Covid struck. Under Pearson we fell asleep and then all died of 'frustration' as we continually conceded late goals.
  17. My recollection of the GJ era when we got to the P.Os is just the opposite, name;y we scored late and were generally punching above our weight to reach the epic final stages. It was a fun ride under GJ, as it was with his son at the helm but the good times always get followed by tougher times then ..whack - manager gets fired and new blood comes in to try and do better - which rarely happens. FACT 67% of European (incl UK) managerial sackings end up with the team lower 1 yr after the sacking. This tells me there is more wrong with the club than just a manager/coach
  18. Dont think so, message me direct with one example and i will respond - if you can find anything constructive to say
  19. I think you may mean under Pearson the late goals used to kill us; both in terms of points and supporter loyalty. He was an average defender in his day and he couldnt coach our decent defenders to save his life (job). Good riddance
  20. Ifs and buts, Roger. If LM is still here - he may walk before the end of the season, but thankfully he wont be reading some of the minority nonsense on here! Thank goodness Pearson is no longer here, what he would have done with the cup run and all these games and injuries, we can only tremble to think so the final IF about progressing doesnt come into it as we'd have been bottom 2 by now. Pearson's legacy will be leaving this club because the management didnt trust him in the January transfer market and because he'd had 30 months and left us so, so weak up front.
  21. Some of us actually like rational, sometimes, as opposed to absurd abuse most give the club we support! Much improved, all City fans happy for 89 mins - not every away game we can say that. Onwards now for Sunday. Keep the faith, keep the support of the club, ease off on the blame and dont get personally vindictive just because we are behind a keyboard. My opinion and I love it
  22. Agreed! this season must be putting City fans off wanting promotion. Burnley exceeded 100 points, did the double of us and always looked a different class. Then they have really failed this season with very very few highlights - which shows how tough it is, even with quality management Sheff Utd were workmanlike and I would say 'bang average' - they won twice the number of games Pearson did, were never good..but it wasnt a good league standard was it? We managed 14th even with Scott and Semenyo so imagine how we would have done under Pearson with our current lot. I recall Blades got more than 30 points more than us and tonight they dont have a single corner nor a shot on target. Football could get depressing unless you hit the 'Three Cherries' and get lucky like Luton did.. There is only ever one place up for grabs going up from The Championship which means if you get lucky, like Luton, you still have to win the lottery of the P.Os
  23. I do not intend 'winding up' people - there is enough of that and 'Pearson-love-in' on this forum. Nor do i think i'm a genuine (or troll) moron! You make a very good point about budget cuts and i would totally agree with you. Iam Nick's point about W-S-M who Tinman/The Club presented to Pearson rather than trusting him to bring in any of his own signings. I saw most of Weimann's 22 that season and fair play to Pearson, appreciated Martin, seeing his goals at Peterborough in the rain, and I know how good Semenyo was. If Manning had Scott and Semenyo in his side, his record would be infinitely better than our last 3-4 seasons. So i liked Diedhiou, accept he didnt help us at the end, i dont believe much of what Ashton ever said and i am certainly not a Pearson fan. TC scores today!
