  1. I've been a fan since early 90's Natch - happy to converse on anything City Anyone new with a an opinion that differs from the masses is shot down - I get it - but it isn't fair
  2. I think a lot of us had our minds made up on LM from day one Are footballers and football managers just robots these days that have to instantly a) understand and b) adapt at the drop of a hat Maybe that is the expectation from us fans, but the reality is there is a "human" element to all of this Whether or not we like it, you have to give time to a manager and the players to be able to execute a style of play - especially if, seemingly, training is not playing out in games What should happen - give a manager 6 games and expect Pep style tiki taka
  3. That isn't how things work in reality though is it You are employed to implement your style of play on the playing squad as quickly as possible, accepting the teething issues that come with it "Slowly" implement - come on, this is the championship, nothing is done slowly These issues are inevitable but you need time to transition away from old style and into new - that is all this is
  4. I'm confused - wouldn't you expect an element of 'breaking' old systems in favour of new ones if trying to adapt a new style I think everyone thinks we were Real Madrid before Nige left - we weren't and performances were stale for a while New ideas, new tactics, new learning approach - it is normal to take time isn't it?
  5. Yes this is right - Kal and Nakhi surprised that training isn't at least, trying, to be replicated on the field This isn't LM's fault - as it isn't with any manager - if what is being done 'on the grass' isn't translating to the pitch, it is the players that have to execute The reality here is two fold: - We don't have a top 6 squad, that was horses**t from Tins - The players aren't good/bright enough to implement what is being asked of them - harsh but fair Doesn't matter what manager is brought in, the reality of the above is always going to be limiting so it makes sense to bring someone like LM in (long term) and back him with recruitment Lansdowns have got it so, so wrong we all know that but there needs to be a 'line in the sand' and accept whatever comes under the "right" style coach or 'on grass' setup
  6. I don't disagree - Bell has gone backwards, as has Tommy, but these are young kids who aren't machines and a new approach and new philosophy will take time We are definitely committing more men forwards in attacks and the way I see it is that it is exposing the same defensive frailties that were there before In a game of very, very fine margins goals will come The issue then becomes why did we change what we all thought wasn't broken under NP - but we did so trying to pick some positives up
  7. In reply to the OP's question - no it isn't as bad as we're all making it out We're more expansive in attack now which, in turn, has re-highlighted the defensive frailties that Nige had mostly managed to iron out Vyner for example, had been pretty well protected under Nige and was playing well He's not got that protection now and, for me, it has highlighted his defensive inabilities and were leaking soft goals again If he can get a handle on that (by binning Vyner IMO when numbers are back) we'll be a force
  8. I think Manning said it himself in the interview - perhaps we are over-loading the players with too much information at once. This is a very fair observation bearing in mind that they were playing a different way for 3 months before LM. We can all see what he is trying to implement here he just needs time (and players that can do it) - one thing he's guaranteed here is time. I'm behind him and if he can get it right sooner rather than later the fickleness of football will bring majority of fans back around.
