  1. If there’s not a pizza stall next season at the ground called ‘The Williams slice’ I’ll be disappointed
  2. Thumping 5-0 win with Williams to score a screamer from outside the box that rebounds off the corner flag and goes in
  3. Spot on. I’m starting to see signs of progression but we’ll only know if that’s realised in the first 10 games of next season and if I’m wrong I’m wrong. It’s a forum, we’re allowed to have different opinions without becoming Sherlock Holmes and assuming it’s because of an X or Y agenda and especially not becoming personal about it.
  4. I’m on the fence so comes down to price. He was a bit part player I think from Burnley’s promotion so relegation or not with them I think they’ll be open to a deal but it’s how much that £5m price drops. LM will want to push for him and Kompany saw enough to buy him so there clearly a decent player there Albeit I’d rather have Benson from Burnley every day of the week!
  5. Today for me: - Once and for all answered the James and Williams in the same team question. They don’t compliment each other, they hinder each other. One or the other with Knight - Why revert back to playing Knight in the No10 role given how well he’s been playing, again it hinders his performance - Highlighted why we need quick players in the forward areas (again) and why someone like their number 14 Thomas is exactly what we’re missing - there seems to be no scenerio in which Mebude comes on (I.e Cornick instead at 4-0 up on Weds) so why not have a youth player on the bench whose not been in the matchday squad There’s plenty more but that’s the main bits as I saw it
  6. Dickie, Knight, O’Leary, Vyner, James
  7. I liked the commemorative kit personally so something like that Simple with no patterns or pin stripes (not a fan, worst kit in ages for me but each to their own) as so many kits now all look the same with the big manufacturers We don’t have that problem obviously with O’Neils as it’s us, Wycombe and Chew Valley U18’s with a tinge of exclusivity given I’ve been trying to buy my son a goalie kit since Aug but never in stock
  8. I had serious doubts when Nige called him out as our number 1 but the old and new coaching team see these lads day in day out and what a call it was as he’s just getting better and better
  9. Credit where credit is due, I’ve been critical but right now happy to munch on some humble pie, signs things are all clicking into place
  10. That was very odd, I just took it that he was trying to be intentionally provocative for whatever reason. Max has been outstanding recently and BBC sport and Sky Sports certainly are singing his praises today!
  11. Hopefully he gets some minutes and surprises us all but when Cornick’s ahead of you in the pecking order then jeez he must be struggling
  12. It felt that he dropped the manager manual and played a formation and selection to get out the best of the players we have and all looked far more comfortable doing so So credit for doing that but this for me is his biggest lesson to learn!
  13. Much improved, moved the ball quicker and some great performances so taking it for what it was and see what happens next as we’ve been here before! Other takeaways: - Knight now needs to be played in the midfield alongside James for rest of the season (bar injury) - if James wants to stay then let’s get the contract sorted - Fully fit Twine could be a great signing - £4.95 for a pint of coke is a disgrace
  14. I’ve not gone to a game in a long time where I’ve been so conflicted about what I actually want to happen
  15. Spot on. I couldn’t care less about his man management skills and whether Trundle liked him or not. Trundle had his moments and the Palace game will live long in the memory but he wasn’t good enough for the Championship and couldn’t really consistently perform against better defenders that jumped on him and didn’t allow him time and space so L1 was his stage and he was brilliant at it. GJ got us to the closet we’ve been to the Premier league since I started watching us 27 years ago We should have done better in the transfer window and put the foot down and I think we’d have gone up automatically. We didn’t and a play off final was a good return for a team just promoted. Ipswich have had an almost identical season so far to us. Of course second place is the first loser but at least we got somewhere close to success. So if some of the players didn’t like him then it’s no different to any manager in any organisation, some love and some hate. Same with players not being liked or having the wrong attitude which Nige was so good at rooting out. I would imagine some of the players he got rid of don’t speak highly of him, that’s life. I think with the right signings Nige would have at least equaled play offs (I think promoted) that within 1-2 seasons and it’s why I’m so frustrated where we are now as a club. Games like Palace seem a loooooooong way away right now so GJ for me did a great job.
