It is not a double standard. You will not find a standard where officials get into players personal space, grab them, insult them etc. This is a standard of the players.

It's still double standards if a player gets punished for something a ref doesn't.

If I walked down the street and elbowed someone because they touched me on the shoulder would that be OK?

  2. I would like to see everton and Westham come down. I think the prem is going to be hard enough next season so see us if having more chance against the likes of Bournemouth. I don't care about league 1 as it won't affect us

    That’s a spectacularly stupid example.

Kompany had managed in the top flight in Belgium, whereas Toure (who I was referring to) hasn’t managed anyone at all before.

Harris is now managing at the bottom of League Two so he’s only marginally more likely to get another offer in the Championship than you or I.

Oh OK it's a stupid example as it doesn't fit your argument even though Kompany had never played or managed in the league which was your argument? Or Harris that had managed and played at this level a lot

Because he has no previous experience whatsoever of the league.

He could be brilliant, he could be rubbish, all appointments are a gamble but I’d suggest you reduce your risk if you choose someone with some experience at that level.

Yeah much better to go sage with someone like Neil Harris than take a gamble on someone like Kompany with no experience of the league.

Judging by this article (sorry about the source) then no.

For the ball to be "in play" a whole 90 minutes, the 'game' would last about 3 hours. A bit like NFL games. They time the game properly, their 60 minutes can last over 3 hours to complete.

I get what you are saying but surely if we are classifying it as a 90 minute game then let's make it be that.

Part of the game now and every team does it including us, unless you're Man City

Solution is to play 60 min games with the clock stopping at every foul every offside and every time the ball goes out

Why 60 minutes? Surely if the game is meant to be 90 minutes do what you have suggested but with 90 minutes instead of 60?

  7. As Selred has said at least they go. I have no issue with fans like this it's more the ones that claim to be massive fans but have never been in there lives .

Also if it shows that the majority of fans aren't from Manchester it must be a bloody huge hotel at old Trafford is 80k plus, so guessing there must be a good 60k with you to prove your point?

While presenting Match of the Day 2 on Sunday night, Chapman confirmed that Haaland's shirt pull wasn't the only problem identified in the build-up to Foden's goal. He said: "We were told as well that if it hadn't been disallowed for the shirt pull, it would have then been disallowed for Haaland's challenge on Alisson."

Sorry when I say never a foul I mean in my opinion and within the context of how the rest of the game was reffed.

If you have a picky ref all game then probably yes but with what he was letting go it should have been a goal

Also worth adding, I’m pretty sure the goal came almost directly from the goal kick that should have been a corner after ederson saved Salah’s one on one.

The correct decision there and the City goal doesn’t play out the way it did

This has always been one of my biggest gripes with VAR. To me either everything should be done by VAR (instantly with better tech)  or nothing and just leave it all to the refs.

There was the incident you mentioned. There was also a time when miller kicked the ball out for a throw but they said the ref or linesman wouldn't be able to tell if it had already gone for a corner, but if that were in the goal they use goal line technology.

My personal view is go back to old school and just leave it to all to the officials

  10. It was a great game and great to see the ref allowing loads go.

What pissed me off about the disallowed goal though was that those "fouls" were being let go all game but just because this one lead to a goal they call it back and give it. It is either a foul everytime or let it go everytime

Isn’t your third paragraph the flaw in the current system that the original poster is complaining about?

If I understand your explanation correctly, one person could have 9 mates season tickets linked to their online account and could use that to buy 10 tickets in total.

Now, if not all 9 mates intend to go to that particular away game the person who has made the purchase has additional tickets that they can then give/sell to non STH friends.

I suppose that’s what the OP means by hoovering up tickets.

No difference to someone saying to their mate as you're not going can you use your season ticket to buy a ticket for my mate.

The system may not be 100% fair but its as close as it could be.

  12. I could be wrong here as I don't go to away games half as much as I used to but isn't it also quite rare for us to sell out an away end? Especially before general sale?

I know there are exceptions like FGR in the cup etc with smaller allocations but most of the time they certainly don't sell out within the hour.

I went to Burnley Saturday and I got a ticket fine and I haven't even got a membership this season yet.

Really think your argument is flawed and I believe those that travel the most/ST holders should get 1st dibs

You have to give people the opportunity to get a ticket. Announcing the release date and time of tickets and selling them at the ground the old fashioned way allows a chance for all, my experience last year and this season trying to get a ticket for Birmingham and Bournemouth in the away end was frustrating to say the least!

Despite spending £600 on a season ticket I have 0 chance of getting a ticket to certain away games that’s not right

Adding to that the current system allows for people to buy up to 10 tickets per season ticket.

Some one with a Bristol Sport online account can add up to 20 season tickets on their online profile and mop up tickets in seconds

If someone is able to at work they can be given season tickets from multiple season card holders and clean up the tickets for them and their well organised group of City supporters

This happened with the Bournemouth game 100 tickets were left I got 3 by the time I entered my card info they were sold out ! I took the day off work to buy tickets and was completely shafted never had a chance

Sell away tickets at the ground if you can’t get there to buy one or if can’t get a family member to the ground to buy one better luck next time at least EVERYONE gets an opportunity to see an away game.

Its a classism of I get more time to watch City I’m entitled to get a ticket 1st BS

You are making out like city tickets snapped up by touts in seconds.

As others have said giving loyalty to those that travel more often is the fairest way.

It's only a consideration at this stage but it's clearly on the table- as we get towards Autumn and Winter there is certainly up for discussion the idea of earlier kick off times to limit use of floodlights etc.

Surely the massive hit on gates would more than counter the electricity spent

  15. I think people (me included) get excited because when he is on song he is normally one of the best players on the pitch.

Consistency will hopefully come with age where as his natural ability is a lot harder to teach a player.

I didn't see the blackpool game but what annoys me is when he has an off game he gets hooked straight away but when William's was having a bit of a mare 1st half against Luton he was given the opportunity to make up for it 2nd half (which he did)

I think Benarous will take Scott’s place when he goes.
The lad is a bit in Scott’s shadow but I think he has just as much potential.

I don't see why they can't both fit in. I see Scott in more of an Alonso position dictating the pace of the game where as Benarous is more attacking and I see him in a front 3 or behind the strikers.

Can’t see any reason why the prognosis that he’ll be back around Christmas/ early’23 would change with the type of injury he has.

Wouldn’t be trusting any App for scores on this.

That was my thinking to be honest and I didn't trust it hence the question if anyone was aware of the situation.

Looking forward to seeing him back and can see him fitting in well with a more footballing side if we keep it up.

  18. Has anyone got an update on Benarous? I thought he was meant to be out until Christmas time but an App I use for scores seems to think he is nearly back and just needs to build fitness.

That being said this app isn't the most reliable for injuries outside of the prem.
