Went down today with my freebie ticket.I will never moan about a boring football match again as it was bloody shocking. The standard of rugby from Bristol was really poor and the atmosphere was crap as well. The only plus was that I could take my pint to my seat and drink it with no problems. All I can say to Steve Lansdown is save your money because in the championship next year the crowds will be cut by half.

You should have sat in the middle of your row.

I didn't need to get up for anyone during the match.

I have never, ever heard of the former Wolves goalkeeper, Matt Murray but the fact that he had £1.6m to invest with McIndoe makes one realise how stupidly crazy are professional footballer salaries.

I've just googled him - he played for Wolves for his entire career which ran from 1998-2010 during which time he amassed just 87 first team appearances, retiring due to injury aged 29. An average of just over 7 games per season.

    Works for Sky Sports now.

And he loves a good pout at the end of everything he says...

If you haven't noticed, I'm sure you will from now on.

UFC sucks, but each to their own.

The big fights are often anti-climatic to casual fans but rarely to me. Take Mayweather v Pacman, most boxing fans would've told you that fight took place at least 3 years too late and Manny was shot. Couple that with Mayweather's ultra-cautious style and it was always going to be pretty dull. Same with Klitschko v Fury, with all due respect a KO was very unlikely and sure enough it was a poor fight - no way was I gonna pay £17 for it.

Domestically though there's still plenty of good action. Britain currently has 12 world champions so we should be in a 'golden era' of sorts.

You'd have been better off watching DeGale v Bute on Saturday night - DeGale is an exciting boxer with fast hands and will have some big, big fights next year.

Andy Lee v Billie Joe Saunders on 19 December and Quigg v Frampton 27 February will both be entertaining fights I promise you.

Apparently Kell Brook v Timothy Bradley could be on for next year and Adonis Stevenson v Kovalev would be another corker if made.

I've just found myself losing interest in boxing by watching so many higher profile fights with little excitement. Then in contrast, whenever I watch UFC fights, it is much more entertaining and both opponents give their all.

Maybe I'll keep my eye out for more boxing events and hopefully see something of more quality and entertainment value....

Boxing is all about money at the end of the day. Is there really enough appetite amongst fans to see a rematch after that last night?

Haye/Fury makes more money and probably Wilder/Fury too so I feel they're more likely.  They can pay off Klitschko to step aside if he does indeed want a rematch (and I have my doubts he does).

To be fair, I'd sooner watch UFC than boxing nowadays.

    Boxing is often anti-climatic.

Gone are the good days of Lennox Lewis, Eubank, Prince Naseem etc...

  5. Well I never.

Wasnt a classic, but Fury did a professional job and despite not looking 'well trained' (trim), he didn't struggle during the later stages.

As mentioned, this should shake up the weight division a bit.

  6. agree with OP, 9 in 39 games for team that finished in top six - doesn't seem anything to write home about.

I think it's scandalous when I see posts like the above.

<quotes games, goals and league position to judge the individual player>

Can you quote me Luke Freeman's before he signed for us. Or shall I do it for you?

Maybe we shouldn't have signed him because if his games/goals/club finishing position?! What do you think?

  7. Yes it is but then that's your opinion on Jamie Murphy that he wouldn't do that...

I think he's more than adequate to keep freeman on his toes, don't get me wrong freeman would start 99.9% of the time but I couldn't name one person that ticks all the boxes and could do a better job than freeman.

I haven't discredited Murphy's abilities. Though it was mentioned prior that he'd be a good back up player. That's what I originally addressed.

If he's good enough to displace Freeman then he'd be worth attempting to sign.

I don't know how good this guy is?!

  8. As much as I agree with what you are saying. What happens is freeman picks up a knock and is out for a month who plays in the hole?

We will have to get someone in now JET has gone and I doubt we could get someone as good as Freeman let alone better.

It will be about value for money not just buying better players.

It's more about ensuring that if we sign another 'number 10' player, they need to push/pip freeman for a place in the line up.

    Not about buying backup players.

  9. As a "decent" or "back up for Freeman", why would he be worth signing?

We want to ADD quality, not sign back up players

If he's worth signing, then Keith Burt must be sure he can do more than 'just a job' for us.
