  1. Christ on a bike, 90 mins of two teams passing around endlessly and aimlessly in their own halves, waiting for the opportunity. There are few comments about the endless passing, could be a bit boring maybe ? I'd settle for 0-0 personally. I’m thinking we’ll still have enough of our counter attacking play in the tank that we’ll be a threat on the break against them. We always did pretty well against Martins Swansea as we were able to sit back and allow them to pass aimlessly and then attack quickly when we get the ball.
  2. Thanks, my original post was certainly not a dig at Ross, the club, or anyone. More that we have outlaid a decent chunk of money and not been able to get anything out of that so far which is frustrating. Don’t think it called for personal abuse, not that it was overly offensive and I think only 2 have pointed out I worded it poorly which is fair but that’s this forum now!
  3. I actually think that could be a positive. He’s not one of the coaching team, and could be seen as one of the lads with jokes, etc but he was also an excellent pro with a long career. He’ll be able to give players little bits of advice and help that maybe a player wouldn’t feel confident speaking to the actual coaching/managing about. Maybe not tactically but more training advice, etc.
  4. I do't know if it's his running style or what, but he does look like he's on his last legs! He had a couple of mazy dribbles down on the right wing towards the end which were excellent.
  5. Nothing or no-one to criticise! I’ve said it’s unfortunate. If you can show where I’ve criticised the club on this please? You are the only poster who has at least entered a conversation about it rather than resorting to insults or anger so thank you! One of the higher transfer fees we’ve paid for a player in the last few seasons in a position we arguably have been light in and he hasn’t played a minute for us. There isn’t anything anyone could have preempted? But have have had 0 return on our money (so far!). if he’s just getting back on the grass with the physios now I guess it won’t be until the new year where he may be in contention for a subs appearance? Hopefully a few appearances towards the end of the season and a good pre-season and he’ll be first choice next year!
  6. I guess you’re right it has been money well spent. I hope Dave can provide his graphs for his stats for us this year. All I said was it’s not been £2 million (now confirmed as less than that up front) well spent. Not quite sure what’s so controversial about that?
  7. Sorry I didn’t realise you can’t comment on a player whose not made an appearance for us without his fan club stepping in to insult you!
  8. So far it has been a waste of money? I’m amazed you think differently. He may turn out amazing, he may never play again. As it stands today it has been a waste of £2 million. It’s no-one’s fault and couldn’t be avoided but it’s a fact.
  9. Who said release him and call it a day?
  10. ? Do you disagree it’s a good use of £2 million? Regardless of its unfortunate, we’ve not seen him on the pitch for 1 minute so it’s not been a good use of money.
  11. It’s very unfortunate I agree. its not been £2 million well spent though has it?
  12. Manning got a win against a good Boro today, what shall we moan about? How about the attendance and Downsy? We haven’t moaned about them for at least 3 weeks!
  13. Christian Roberts scored those ones.
  14. If that was the Man City game v Chelsea where she got a 2nd yellow, the ref was 100% correct to do so.
  15. I only ever went for a pee during a game once, and while I was making my way back to my seat up the stairs of the Atyeo, Luke Wilshire knocked one in from 45 yards v Tranmere. Never again.
  16. I think with our current defensive record and performance ms by Dickie it would be mad to either drop him or Vyner to fit Naismith in. Joint second best defence, let’s leave that as it is as let it continue. Where have we been lacking? Movement in the midfield, Naismith might not improve this, but triangles between him, James, Knight and the centre backs will open up space. I would hope this would also ‘release’ Knight a bit more from any defensive duties and give us an extra body in attack. I do feel that the change in formation in order to prevent conceding goals is not affecting us in the attacking third. Our players always seem outnumbered or isolated. Another thing I’d like to see is when we are defending corners or free kicks, leave Sam Bell up top. For well over a season any clearer ball has come back into the box completely unchallenged. Bell isn’t going to be one of the main defensive headers of the ball. Let’s use his pace and presence to at least give the opposition something to think about.
  17. Mid-40s I think. Rushden & Diamonds is the most obscure.
  18. Successful? We didn't have a play style? Unless you include pass it around the back 4 until we get under pressure and lump it up to a forward in the hope Knight picks up a loose ball. Or play it back to Max to boot out of play. The style of play looked exactly the same as the Sheff Wed game. Manning needs to try and coach half the team how to make a 5 yard pass because Pearson sure couldn't! Don't get me wrong, I didn't want Pearson to leave, but lets not pretend we were playing anywhere near something resembling 'good' football for the majority of this season!
  19. To be fair you could look at it as to how bad our GKs could be without PM as coach. Max might be putting every long pass out of play! oh hang on…
  20. To be fair, up until the last 10 mins or so, the high line was working! An extra 14 mins in the first half and 9 in the second probably took it out the 9 men so should have dropped back then.
  21. He’s hardly going to say prepare to be disappointed though!
