Just been to the sonny stores pop up in Quaker's friar, they’ve taken over the old Klausterhaus site whilst their usual place on Raleigh Road is being refurbed.

3 courses for £25, every weekday lunch. New menu every day.

Was amazing value (those with a * are eligible for the deal), essentially getting a 3 course meal that’s typically cost £40-£50 for £25. Highly recommend, and is an amazing work day pick me up!

Went to Sonny Stores  last night, was really looking forward to it but unfortunately it was a total disaster, took 20 minutes to take drink order so decided to order food at same time, had to chase the one starter and bread that we’d ordered, it finally turned up after we had been in there for 1 hour, by this time several tables had been vacated by disgruntled diners.

We felt very sorry for the wait staff as the problem seemed to be in the kitchen, we asked if the main courses were going to be the same sort of wait time and should we “cut our losses” and just leave, we were advised that it might be best to leave.

The place was packed and when we left there was a big queue of people waiting for tables that were not free because of the backlog.

Can only assume the increase in capacity was a bit much for them.

  2. I was thinking about this the other day.

Do you think there is a clause in the contract that if City were to be relegated and Derby promoted the transfer could be cancelled.

The turning for the Orchard/SS Great Britain is before the bus gate so you can still drive to the Orchard

From BCC : The bus gate will be installed immediately to the east of Gas Ferry Road, so cars can travel eastbound on Cumberland Road up to this point, which also means access by road to the SS Great Britain will be retained from both directions

Cumberland Road stabilisation and bus gate update (bristol.gov.uk)

As we live on the East side of Bristol we can still drive there but the bus gate is on our way home so if we drive we have to turn right down Cumberland Road and come back on ourselves through town or up Coronation Road.

Although parking by The Orchard meant a bit of a walk to the ground and back, it was a quick getaway on that side of the river back towards home.

  4. When it first opened me and the lads I go with went in there every game, we haven’t been in there for a few years now.

Prefer to drink in The Orchard, can get a seat most times and drink reasonably priced beer/cider and get a Clark’s pie on the way.

  5. I gave up watching City “full time” in 1977 when I was 17 and started playing men’s football.

i can’t remember what boots I wore as a kid but my first pair of real boot was the Patrick Chile which I bought from a sports shop in Redfield, they were slightly too big so I had to wear 2 pairs of socks.

I eventually graduated to the Adidas World Cup boot (with the big tongue) what a thing of beauty they were.

I can’t imagine many more pleasurable moments than going to a sports shop and selecting your new boots back in the day.

The way he talked about him, ive got a feeling Ali Hines is in the frame..

My son was in the academy for 10 years, Ali Hines is a top, top bloke who was honest & truthful and I couldn’t say a bad word about him, Tinnion not so much, like many have said previously an absolute snake.

See it quite often in Hanham/St George, thought it was black though.

I don't think Cardiff is necessarily must win for Nige, but lose this (would be 5 defeats in 7) would make the Shef Wednesday game must win.

Sheffield Wednesday could be heading to Ashton looking for their first win of the season, we all know how kind City are to sides that need to break a winless run.

At least the United "fans" are probably within walking distance and don't have the additional travel costs.

This was a topic on talk sport yesterday which I only listened to “in & out”

At least one Fulham fan rang in to support the prices as historically there is a large Man Utd presence in home areas for this fixture and he was happy for them to be “taxed” for this game.

I understand his frustration but it doesn’t encourage Fulham fans who buy on a match by match basis.
