This gives me a chance to point out that Paul Dirac, one of the greatest physicists of the 20th century and regarded by many as second only to Einstein, came from Bristol.
There is an abstract statue on Anchor Road that is supposed to represent his genius but as far as I know no civic statue, which is a shame.
There is a road named after him on the Bristol & Bath Science Park in Emerson’s Green

Let’s not forget that a Premier league club might get desperate in January and meet our requested fee, especially if he can add goals to his game.
Premier league clubs might get desperate before the end of August.
There are still 4 weeks to go in this window, some clubs might have a bad start or original targets might not happen, also a fair amount of business tends to get done late in the window.

Massive dilemma for me, I would love Leeds to get relegated but then we have to deal with easily the most annoying fans I have witnessed at Ashton in my 50 odd years of watching City.
Even more annoying than Rovers, never thought it would be possible.

Was that the one where we kicked the gates in and filled there end about an hour before the game. The old bill then arrived with the dogs.I remember seeing Beaney (RIP) with a big alsation hanging from his coat.It was a bit lively that day with Millwall & Swindle on the premises but no contest.
That was my first away game, I was about 12 years old and went on the train with some mates.
I seem to remember it was early on in the season and we were still on school holidays, we were discussing on the way back if we would have to write about “what we did in the holidays”
The stories of that day would of surprised the teachers.

I totally agree KiTR but let's not get like the r@#£rs fans creaming ourselves over support numbers.
At least ours are fact rather than fictitious I suppose.
That said, in 8 years, our support has shot up to a new level.
Like they said in Field of Dreams “Build It And They Will Come”

Chocolate Hobnobs are the greatest biscuit ever, I know they are available in USA, some towns have international food markets where you can get them.

Horrible to think of the most iconic moment in our history being described by Sam Matterface.

Hope the Sunderland game is on TV, I was going to the game in a group of 12 but Easy Jet cancelled the flight back on Sunday.

Reminds me of when my lad played for City under 11’s v Millwall, they had a 6 footer playing who everyone thought was one of the coaches.

The comparison has been made sometimes.
What do you think?
Absolutely spot on, been saying it for years.
Both teams promise so much but deliver so little.

Great goal by Radford for Hereford but the thing I’ll always remember is the pitch being invaded by thousands of green parka’s

I think Dan Burn has a better chance than Webster personally.

I usually get to my seat about 30 seconds before kick off but today I was in there a lot earlier.
I was really pleased to hear “Back Home In Bristol” blaring out approx 10 minutes before kick off, was this the first time this song has been played or have I missed it due to my tardiness?
Also, could the words be put up on the screen so this song could be a new and welcome anthem, (the “I can’t read & write song is a total embarrassment)

I've heard similar stories about other clubs. An elderly relative of mine said that in the 50s when he went to Ashton Gate one week and Eastville the next, Eastville was full of fans from North and East Bristol and that was about it, Ashton on the other hand had accents from Bristol, Somerset, Bath, Wiltshire etc.
A good friend who is a Sheffield Wednesday fan said it is well known that most people in Sheffield are United fans, however, Wednesday draw support from a wider geographical area including many smaller Yorkshire towns.
Overseas, in Turin, Torino are known as the most popular team in the city, however, Juventus have supporters' clubs all over Italy who travel to matches.
I went to Turin to watch Juventus a few years ago, every taxi driver we spoke to supported Torino and had a real hatred of Juve.

The only England away game I have attended, it was a great weekend except the amount of time we were kept in the ground after, 3 hours if I remember correctly.
It was the first time I had heard the “great escape” tune and always remember blokes whistling the tune as we were walking through the airport on the Sunday, I believe it would be referred to as an “ear worm” these days.

I’d just moved into a house by myself, didn’t have any furniture, watched the game sat in a deck chair, happy days.

I’m not a Cornick hater but it’s a bad miss, can’t believe the support for the keeper.
