28/4/69, Rovers 0 City 5, Glos Cup at Eastville, what an introduction.53 years of mainly disappointment and mediocrity but can’t wait for next season to start.

Enjoyed that, that young lad is very good.

The two biggest things we can do to help towards FFP which wouldn’t weaken is to find homes for Wells and Palmer. This is a must. The next one which is more arguable as would weaken us is to sell Kalas.
I can’t understand anyone who wants to keep Wells considering his lack of impact this season and huge wages.
I could be way off the mark here but I have a feeling that Pearson is not a fan of Kalas and think he could be sold if there are any takers

Used to take the money and help run the fitness club in the old grandstand on weekday nights in the 80/90’s.
He was indeed a very nice bloke.

I would be really happy if Leeds came down but then we’d have to put up with their mega annoying fans again

Sir Geoff looks like he could still play.

More than likely the young lad realised he has just signed up for a life of disappointment (like I did in 1969)

Just found this thread as I don’t tend to visit the non football chat forum.
We eat out fairly regularly, if I had to pick my favourite it would be Bravas in Cotham Hill.
Great tapas & atmosphere, killer tunes and Estrella on tap, owner is a red too.
Place is small so is fully booked regularly.

I watched that show for the first time yesterday, I have never felt so bereft of knowledge in my life.
is it a show for Mensa members only?

Disagree completely. Swansea, Reading player for player arent better than us.....but far better coached and drilled.
Have to disagree with you there, the forward players of Reading are vastly superior to what we have no matter how they are being coached.
I was very impressed by Reading especially in the forward areas.

I find it an original, if bizarre , idea . I wonder who they stole it from .
I might be wrong here but I think it’s a business venture by one of their players, Rodman perhaps?

Bolton? Don’t change the subject, Rob!
In St George it was drop backs - never heard of rush backs until I played 5-a-side with Essex boys many years later. Mind you, we never got out of St George much!
Did you play on the top of St George’s Park using the trees as goal posts like we did (late 60’s, early 70’s)

Inspiral Carpets/Stolen from Man Utd but I still think it works:
This is how it feels to be Rovers,
This is how it feels to be small,
This is how it feels when your club means nothing at all, Nothing at all Nothing at all...
Absolute quality

Before he transferred to the Dolman he sat by us in the Williams stand and I can tell you he yelled the same thing back then on a very regular basis.
Also remember being refereed by him on several Sunday mornings back in the day.
Just like there are no “maverick” footballers now we have now lost our maverick supporter, what a guy he was.
