  1. Possibly right. Thing is JET gets slated by the crowd for something wrong - another City will do the same and people will say unlucky etc. Just feel a bit sorry for him simply because he isn't the kind of player who will work hard but is capable of doing something that a player who works hard can't do.
  2. I'll go a bit against what everyone says about JET - he actually set-up pretty much all of our chances first half with good passes or beating a man. People get annoyed when he has the ball kicked hard against him and can't control it - totally unfair. I actually feel pretty sorry him - he is never going to work hard but he will deliver goals and assists at this level and possibly even the one above. He will never change in terms of chasing down etc yet people seem to expect him to. He was actually better than quite a few players today yet haven't much criticism of them. Williams had a shocker!
  3. Fair result. When you are 2-1 up with 5 minutes to go, it is very disappointing to throw away the lead - especially as we hardly looked like scoring tonight in open play.
  4. 1 defeat in 24 and that was to a team who are in the Championship. Not bad!
  5. Solid win. Few hairy moments with them hitting the post and at corners 2nd half. Defence still a concern for me. Korey yet again superb. Hoping for same again next week.
  6. Orient looked a stubborn outfit and will probably do well with Henderson up top. Well worth their point. We were a bit disappointing really. Maybe the 'goal' should have stood but not enough good chances created. Freeman should have been on earlier for the woeful Pack. Fielding looked very dodgy - new keeper a must for me.
  7. Well done Sam. I feel he is just much better at finishing the harder chance rather than the 1 on 1. Can't knock 18 goals so far.
  8. On way home...great win tonight. Looked great until el abd got sent off. Hung on brilliantly with osbourne playing very well but everyone doing their bit. Long may thr winning run continue. And the even better newd is that el abd will be out for 3 games!
  9. Good first half...poor second. But result most important thing and gives us hope ahead of Shrewsbury. Such a good winner by Gillet.
  10. 6 wins from 13 games...not much chance...Even 5 wins and 3 draws looks tough.
  11. I wouldn't say I'm confident of a win seeing as we have won just 4 of 17 home games but we must win today so a narrow 2-1 I hope. Will certainly be a very depressing week on here without a win...
  12. Think we are Comparing different threads...
  13. Indeed. For 1 good comment about Cotteril are about 15 bad ones.
  14. That was a good post and the chance of them all being bad managers is low especially when you look at how well McInnes has done either side of City. And O'Driscoll's win percentage at other clubs was between 36% and 38% - at City it was 25%.
  15. Yeah but did he say he was a winner?
  16. Yes you can take SOD's last 10 if you wish. The point I was making was the corner was being turned under SOD with his last 6/7 games (ie a period of form) and that is why I don't believe we should have got rid at that time. His record prior to that was poor - I have never argued it wasn't. But sometimes you have to have a period of poor results in order to go forward. Maybe that will happen with SC... It may be great that SC has 16 from 12 but will it last until the end of the season? Not based on what has happened over the last 2 months and we actually need about 1.4 points a game to survive which again looks unlikely based on recent form (8 from last 6). Apparently we were just tired against Tranmere yet when fresh the next week and playing against a team who played 2 games whilst we rested, we were 2nd best all game long. That is pretty worrying. After an 'abysmal away defeat' saying you are a winner just makes you look stupid especially when your recent record proves otherwise. Instead of saying he is a winner, he should be actually winning or at the very least be competitive. I would never say all managers get a honeymoon period (even GJ did BTW as he won 3 of his first 4 games before the losing sequence) but seeing as SOD and SC seemed to both have them then it is only fair to take them in to consideration.
  17. But again as many have pointed out, if you strip out the honeymoon period (the same that SOD had) the results are just as bad if not worse. 10 points from the last 10 is very worrying.
  18. I agree- we weren't good that day. Yet we still dominated the whole game and were pretty much robbed. They came for a draw and got all three. When you compare that to the game just gone when Sheff Utd 'should have been very tired' and we should have been fresh - we got smashed. Not even in the game against a side around us in the table.
  19. In the Sheff U home game, they didn't have a shot of note - only Flint scoring an OG gave them the win and I bet they couldn't believe their luck. Wasn't a great performance by us but we should have got a draw at least. It wasn't like the recent Coventry or Tranmere games where we were outplayed. Flip to the away match - we weren't even in the game and they dominated long periods. If O'Driscoll was so negative like many have said, why did we score a boat load of goals (26 goals in the league alone this season before he left). If anything we were too positive and needed to work on sorting the defence. He did that and was then sacked - in his last 6 games in charge only Orient scored more than 1 against us and they were top at the time. He was beginning to find the balance - OK it was slow progress and I was frustrated like many that we had not made a good start. It did take him too long to sort out the mess. But all the groundwork that was done, all the talk from the board about the long term etc it was all a waste of time. I probably could have understood moving SOD on if we had a replacement who was more upbeat but fitted in with the strategy etc that the club were trying to implement. With the signing of El Abd came the end of any of that. Strategy forgotten, defence tampered with and JET's form nowhere to be seen. We had a nice honeymoon period when SC arrived but the first half at Orient apart, things have generally been worse for me. 10 points from last 10 games is a big concern too. I hope that SC can turn it around starting with the Gillingham game. He may do when he stops playing 4 CB's in defence and gets the best out of JET. He needs to do those things and fast else we are down.
  20. He didn't see it coming because he didn't recognise how bad the performance was against Tranmere was last week. Apparently we were tired. Yet somehow tired old Sheff Utd managed to hammer us today. I'm not saying the players shouldn't take any blame but the manager should too. I prefer not to have to hear how bad we were from a manager. He should tonight be saying how we took advantage of a tired Sheff U side like Tranmere did to us last week.
