  1. A 0-3 loss? After he put in hard work on the training ground??

    Why would he?

Apparently they did nothing they trained on this week.

    I blame the players here.

He didn't see it coming because he didn't recognise how bad the performance was against Tranmere was last week. Apparently we were tired. Yet somehow tired old Sheff Utd managed to hammer us today.

I'm not saying the players shouldn't take any blame but the manager should too. I prefer not to have to hear how bad we were from a manager. He should tonight be saying how we took advantage of a tired Sheff U side like Tranmere did to us last week.

  2. I listened to the interview and it didn't really annoy or offend me at all.

Now had he come on, said we were unlucky, the players tried or that it was the refs fault I would have been pissed off.

He didn't. He was annoyed and said the players were awful and we've got to work much harder.

I thought it was honest and exactly what I'd expect.

It was fine as interviews after shite performances go.

Apparently in the radio interview he said he didn't see it coming....

  3. I don't understand why people or us fans would be pissed off though on this one?

He is saying we were abysmal, he is saying the players let him down - they did, he is saying the fans were superb and were let down - they were.

I thought the interview was of a pissed off manager who thought his team were appalling and let him and us down.

Which to me is honest and bang on the money??

Sure he said we were shite which we were but he has said so many stupid things including the winner comment.

  4. He may think he is a winner - and at Cheltenham he was. But since then his record has generally been pretty average apart from 18 games at Notts County.

14 league games at City. 4 wins, 5 draws and 5 defeats. And if you consider that 2 of those wins were in the honeymoon period that most our our recent managers have seemed to enjoy, that record looks as bad as SOD's this season.

As some have said on here, the only way he is possibly a winner is that when he gets sacked from this job, he will get a big pay-off.

  5. Vital win but what a terrible game! First half we were shocking. 2nd half slightly better but we never really had any period of good play. I can't remember us having any shots apart from the goals and Carlisle had one other than their goal which came off the bar. Seriously poor from both sides.

Glad to see Elliott get the goals as he was one of the only players who really put in the required effort etc in the two away games. And Wes Burns at least offered something different 2nd half so credit has to go to SC for that.

New keeper looked reasonable - came out for a few crosses etc.

Some dreadful performances out there though - Baldock and Pack in particular very poor.

Think we will need to play much better against Coventry to win that.

  6. The football in general has not been much better. If you compare the 2 MK Dons games, there was little difference in quality and perhaps we deserved to win more in the away game.

Tonight was pretty poor. Barnett missed a good chance when we were at 1-1 but after they got the 2nd it was a shocker from City. Don't think we created another chance all evening. Yes we were playing top of the league but to play so poorly was disappointing. At least make it tough for them.

I think Cotterill was saving JET for Saturday - big gamble that needs to pay off. I didn't like the guy before I came and haven't seen much from him so far to suggest he will be good long term for us but happy to be proved wrong. We swapped managers at a crazy time and I can't see that it has helped us much.

The signing of El Abd was pointless especially when the defence looked more solid. Now it looks terrible again.

If we don't win Saturday then I think we are pretty much down - will be a long long way back anyway especially when you aren't winning games very often...

  7. Same cant be said about jet who when he has an off day offers nothing. That being said we have two of the best strikers in this league the defence and midfield lets us down sadly.

He had an off day Saturday yet could have scored and had assists - harsh to say that is offering nothing.

  8. What is wrong with some of you. Blaming Baldock and JET. These two have given us half a chance of staying up this season.

Sure Baldock should be better at 1 on 1's but he will get 20 goals this season.

And JET is a bit lazy and has the odd off game.

But put even a reasonable midfield and defence together behind them and we would be in the top 6.

  9. agreed ,,,  but surely we should be saying well done for pulling your socks up and notching a brace to rescue a point ....?

He got 14 now and will end with 20+ unless you think he isnt good enough to get 6 more in the remaining 21 games in fact IF (big IF ) he repeats what he has done in first half of season then he will be closer to 30!.......and its a long time since we had a player close to that number (one amazing Murray season excepted)

He will get 20 no doubt and is a good striker at this level. Just wish he could convert a few more one on one's.

  10. A lot of premature comments here, seems a good signing on paper but to say it's brilliant already is exactly what the majority said about Fielding/most players we signed in the summer!

Give it a few games before judging someone!

Yep could be the next Dave Partridge!

  11. Apart from a couple of set piece goals, we have looked pretty solid ever since Osbourne joined and I don't think it is an area we needed to improve at the moment (ignoring the games against Championship opposition). Unlike Midfield where we are still getting dominated by teams. But if he improves the team then I think you can make the odd over 24 signing to add experience. Just hope the club aren't going back to their old ways...

By the sounds of it he is a hard CB who won't be playing too much football.
