  1. plenty of gasheads should have access to a crystal ball though.
  2. Because they are lucky bar stewards, who most likely will come up smelling of roses and overtake us,to become champions of England, then Europe in a stadium to make Real Madrid jealious.
  3. I can't recall the term used but, it referred to a party deliberately dragging their feet to make sure the contract could not be completed satisfactorily by the other party. I believe this is what Rovers claimed. If that were the case, perhaps the judge might be persuaded to award some compensation to the wronged party. But I await your wisdom on the matter, as sometimes the law isn't so cut and dried, as we found out with AV and tvg applications.
  4. I know but, let's remain dignified and not shouting until the fat old lady sings, we don't want to get bit on the bum. I half expect a fairy god mother to wipe out their debts and strike oil under the pitch.
  5. Careful old chap, it could also go the other way. They were always quite lucky in certain ways, that's how they got the rugby ground in the first place. Personally I still think the judge will give them a bit of compo for Sainsbury's dragging their feet, Sainsbury won't argue even though they'll have done nothing wrong in legal terms. Where that leaves them is still a case for laughter, sorry, discussion.
  6. How a rugby supporter viewed the deal. Re: Mem redevelopement delayed Gray_Lensman (IP Logged) 12 September, 2013 08:03 Yes, you are right BD, Rovers had ended up playing another season at the Memorial Ground (and come on people it is the Memorial Ground, not 'Stadium' and certainly not the 'Mem'). BristolWelsh, I'm sorry but the acquisition of the ground by Rovers was questionable. I've gone over it a few (!) times but the Chairman (and a couple of others who made loans to the club) refused to let the shareholders of the club see the accounts at the first AGM (and only AGM I think), we were never informed of the deal that essentially gave one party the right to take control of the one physical asset for a nominal sum, he inserted that clause into the deal, and he was a shareholder in Rovers. Then, before you could say 'undeclared conflict of interest' he calls in his loans, puts us into receivership thus activating the clause that allowed Rovers to gain control of our Ground. Plus he recovered all his money from the sale of the Combination ground. And as for WB's Deed of Trust, that has long been a hopeful rumour but has never been shown to actually exist. I think it is entirely mythical or it would have been produced long before now.
  7. A man is stopped by police in North St. He's carrying a bucket, shouting yehaw and throwing imaginary seeds across the road. The policeman asks him what he thinks he's doing as he's frightening the shoppers away. The man replies "it keeps the lions away", but there's no lions in North St say's the copper. the man smiles and say's " bloody good stuff aint it".
  8. My mother in law has a tattoo of a shell on her thigh, if you put your ear to it, you can smell the sea.
  9. So what, I used to wear socks on my hands in the cold weather. Sorry folks, it looked like a shin to me, I've got a cold.
  10. I gotta say it, "it's upside down", hahahahahahahaha. Should have the wider bit on top, when he or she (it's likely) wears a sock, it'll say Ashead.
  11. I don't think I could agree any more with your sentiments sir.
  12. I didn't get where I was today by not knowing when we haven't had a conversation.
  13. With all this under discussion, it seems to have escaped my notice about their season ticket sales situation and whether they are still not selling them, if not, one has to question why.
  14. Dunford's money was left in a milk bottle by the Grotto door.
  15. I don't have the time or inclination to argue what I know to be correct and morally right. Weeble has made many statements and claims, bluebeard has also made claims. None of them cover or explain with any detail or facts that prove there was any wrongdoing with the demise of the rugby club ,those statements merely muddy the waters. They are arguing for their clubs and it is understandable that they do but, they are nothing more than tired excuses for one sorry state of affairs after another for the rugby club, who have been exploited by the owners and followers of a football club. Those statements are like stories which have evolved over a period of time, with little details added occasionally and a favourable spin placed on them by those posters. As I have previously stated, I have information from a person who acted for one of the parties in the Memorial stadium company formation, which apart from the finite details were well documented in the local press at the time, I also have information from a member of the board of trustees of the rugby club. I have received no warnings from any source of future legal proceedings and am confident that there will be none, as I have only spoken the truth as I know it to be. I liken what has happened in recent times as a form of justice. Hopefully the rugby club will be rid of the shower of shyte that shafted them and they can look forward to more successful times without that horrible history hanging over them. I say that not as a rugger fan, because I am not. I say that as someone who likes fair play, fair play to Mansfield, fair play to Wycombe, fair play to Northampton and all the teams that finished above the shower of shyte that play at the rugby ground.
  16. Edward Ware provided that experience and I believe it was him that put forward the plans for student housing.
  17. Get a room with a Gashead? You must be kidding, I'd be homeless in no time at all.
