  1. What is worrying is the players are not only low on quality but low on confidence too, and without a leader that’s not going to get any better. I thought it wasn’t possible to feel any lower as a fan than the capitulation to Forest and Coventry, but then the club comes out and essentially gives a 15-minute shrug of the shoulders to the supporters. It’s like Henry Winkler’s lawyer character in Arrested Development when he asks the Bluth family: “Right, what’s the plan?”
  2. This just gets worse and worse. We are in limbo, then - a rudderless ship heading straight for the League One rocks. Gould inspires about as much confidence as a Soviet biplane.

So the best argument I’m hearing for appointing Colin W is “Well, we are playing s*** anyway so might as well get in the man who has taken s*** football and made it an art form.” Even if he did keep us up this year we’d be back in exactly the same predicament come next season.

Another one, along with Warnock, who should be avoided like the plague. Colin might keep us up - MM would definitely take us down!

Far from convinced he would achieve results, but what is guaranteed is we would have an objectionable man in charge who plays football out of the Stone Age. No ta.

I too am getting messages (No source, mind) that NP is toast. Neil Warnock as his replacement? I sincerely hope not. I’d no more want him managing our club than that poxy skeleton from Kingswood.
  7. Speak for yerself. Agree though, pissed is what I need to be after every City shambles just to maintain a modicum of sanity. As you say, these late goals feel inexorable. It’s almost like these nogginses are trying to lose on purpose!
  8. Is this what we’ve been reduced to, speculating whether the obnoxious Colin W***er and his prehistoric tactics can pull us out of the quicksand?!? This club truly is on life support. ?
  9. That is unforgivable. The support we had today deserves better than this turd on a stick of a club. Can we extend the international break because I don’t want to see Bristol City fail at playing football again for a very, very, very long ****ing time. Players, coaching staff, owners - hang Your heads in collective shame. Bunch of helmets.
  10. I seriously hope not - it would be a cretinous strategy; we can’t defend and it took every sinew to keep a poor Barnsley side out of our net last week. Let’s show a bit of attacking intent for once and give the big following we are taking to the Ricoh something to get excited about - we don’t look like turning possession into chances currently, let alone chances into goals. Park the bus up your bum.
  11. If only Andy Cole was still at the Gate, we’d’ve won the European Cup by now…
  12. Mowbray tried to brush off their mullering by Fulham by saying it’s the first time they’ve lost by more than one goal in over a year. Oh dear.
  13. The one straw I’m clutching is that in our last three relegations from this level (1995, 1999, 2013) it’s been obvious to anyone who had eyes to see that we were doomed to relegation from very, very early in the season. This year we made a steady if unspectacular start (in terms of results if not performances). That’s not to say teams haven’t gone down after a better start than we’ve had (Millwall topped the Old First Division in Sept ‘89 and finished bottom) but I’m hoping it’s a pattern. Just trying to keep it light!
  14. Just saw my Facebook memory from precisely three years ago today: “Cast your mind back to Boxing Day - City 2 Reading 0, nicely nestled behind Wolves in the promotion places and on the back of a League Cup quarter-final defeat of Man United. There's no denying that we have gone backwards in a big way since. How do we steady the ship?” That season actually turned out to be our best since ‘08, albeit we were never really serious promotion contenders after a bad spell in the February. But I think the question still very much stands.Things have clearly degenerated from fizzling out to mid table from a good position.
  15. Is this a bad time to mention I got my Johnson & Johnson booster yesterday?
  16. Even in the five games we won we only looked at best decent in patches. Could’ve drawn them all. Just one clean sheet all season. We’ll get marmalised at Coventry Saturday.
  17. That was absolute, unadulterated, chromium-plated toilet. Think this shower are too good to go down? Give your head a wobble. We are a team on the slide. Nobody looked like they gave half a s***.
  18. Alright, with another 10,000 gas giants locked out.
  19. Get in. I hate Platini with the heat of 10,000 suns. Going to enjoy this.
  20. Quite amusing that they are now the ones who have a decent run on the road but cannot win at home (Lost at least their last two).
  21. I have a major problem with the four Welsh clubs being part of the English set-up. They’re here on sufferance. I don’t dislike the Welsh, far from it, but they should really compete in their own country’s league. After Heysel the ban only applied to English clubs yet lo and behold Cardiff’s yob element ran amok in Liege a few years later. Meanwhile English clubs with no history of hooliganism - Oxford, Wimbledon, Norwich, Luton were robbed of the chance to play in Europe and now probably never will. It really gets my hackles up.
  22. That fanzine has some terrific writers. There has always been a bit of banter, for want of a better word, between the various stands at AG. I remember I was queuing for the train to Cardiff for the LDV Final in ‘03 - the only time I’ve actually been to a match (I’m kidding, honest!) and the bloke in front of me referred to “The T**tyeo Stand.” Charming. And back in the late 90s the band resident at the back of H Block of the Atyeo would occasionally sing “Dolman Stand, **** off home” as a small but steady stream of patrons would sneak off early to avoid the FT congestion.
  23. Haha! Falmouth - was not a fully-blown university at that time, just a humble art college. Floella was great, really nice woman. Incidentally, I wanted to wear my City shirt under my graduation gown, the Sanderson centenary one made out of that weird material, but my parents talked me out of it - so I ended up wearing a shirt and the most god-awful tie you’ve ever seen.
  24. I thought so too - slightly more than for the Forest game which I find surprising because a) Forest brought more fans and b) I wouldn’t blame City fans for not wanting to go again for a very long time after that horror show. Wasn’t so very long ago that would have been a full house at AG and we’d have no chance of getting that many for a midseason game against a poor side with low numbers following them away.
