I've been reliably informed by a gashead the new stadium will be built!
Why does he think this I hear you say!?
They purchased a new scoreboard.....
Did Millwall break the old one when they scored their fourth goal last weekend? Not sure BRFC's old scoreboard was used to coping with such big numbers.

Do they still publish their fanzine '2nd of May' or was that cancelled?
Its better than fiction, at times with that lot. If I wrote it as a noval critics would be saying things like "nice idea, but too far fetched" and "ridiculous!". "Where the xxxx did you get headbutting a mini bus from?" and "signing the player that sent you down?".
No wonder they hate us but it's not our fault we have neighbours of such ineptitude.
I'm pretty sure it's defunct unless someone else picked up the baton. I actually know the woman who used to run that fanzine in person - she's a very pleasant person incidentally and always got on well with her despite the rivalry.
However, she got fed up with the endless shenanigans at Rovers behind the scenes and no longer goes to watch them. She now follows AFC Wimbledon instead I believe.

How are you all celebrating Colin Daniel Day?
I'm planning on having someone inflict a devastating setback on me while they're wearing my clothes.

I see on their forum they are reminiscing days gone by as usual about 1990. Well done boys, but lets not forget tomorrow is the anniversary of your great relegation to nowhere.
Fwiw i'd take losing 3-0 to them and them winning the league for us to then have 17 years of us consistently being above them. Worth it.
Yes, since 1990 they've been in the wilderness ever since. We effectively relegated the scum three years later, effectively clinched promotion by beating them in 1998, saw them drop into the Basement in 2001, almost saw them drop out of the league altogether over the next two seasons (b***** Rammell), and stayed at least a division ahead of them every step of the way, with their delicious drop into the Conference being the icing on the cake.
Would I swap 1990 for us winning 3-0 at Barf and taking the title, only for our respective histories to be reversed over the ensuing quarter century? I should coco.
Although do confess a teeny bit of envy at not having achieved the following:-
KO from the Worthington Cup before the first round
FA Trophy first round runners-up
Not having as many Facebook friends as them

14:45 in case anyone wants to skip over the Gas lap of honour...
To be fair Windass's lap is a large one to honour.

Taking a risk letting the sags play there, they may try to squat again.
I find it absolutely hilarious that a team in the ninth tier can get an impressive purpose-built facility and the Gas still can't get their stadium act together.

"Fair play about students but just get the last tickets sold,it will put up a marker that the gas will never go away, and we can sell out a match that is unfortunately for us a dead rubber."
Read more: http://gasheads.org/thread/6400/450-counting#ixzz4fLOJs2hYWow they really are that insecure?! They obviously are more worried about their continued existence and know something is up with their new owners! Sell the Mem, take the money and run maybe?
I thought they took about 300,000 to every away game?...

They've tried to clean up their act since their yobs went berserk in response to a visiting side having the temerity to beat their team and ruining their season.
Mind you, Millwall have been no angels either...

There's a village a few miles away called "Gastard" so it's tailor-made for them...

The Rent Boys are taking on Melksham Town in pre-season.
Actually Melksham have just moved into a brand spanking new ground so it'll be a change for the Gas to see a decent ground for once:-

It's quite warm this time of year, I should be fine. I'd advise all to avert their eyes however...
I'll manscape prior to the match just in case.
I can't think of a worse venue for you to do that at. Brighton fans will have had quite enough excitement for one day.

Well, at least you let Flint head one in later Anyway, fair play on your good season. CU next season
I recall fans of another club saying that to us since 2001.
In fact "see you next season" should be on the scum's club badge. What a bunch of malicious self-pitying flanges the Gas are.

Just one slightly disappointing note - crowd of only 18,000 - would've expected 20k at least. Although it didn't look like Barnsley brought many down.

Say a massive Thankyou and farewell to Tammy Abraham
We are likely to see a lot of nervy Brum fans , still not safe and may even see some earl drama as a final topping !!
Can you imagine going into a local derby tomorrow in their position? That game will be no prisoners. Great for the neutral, hell for them.

Accept that - would be the biggest clusterf***k ever to mess it up from hers
Need to avoid a spanking at Brighton but can't see Blackburn winning both their games anyway
I think we'll be okay but just to be safe let's cancel the pitch invasion at Wycombe, yeah?

Excellent second half. Credit to LJ and the team for turning it around.
At about 2pm there were 5-6 Barnsley fans walking down North St chanting obnoxiously and unnecessarily about Bristol being a s***hole (oh the irony), trying to intimidate families going about their business. Big men. Glad their journey home will feel longer after a defeat.
I went to Barnsley College for two years in the 1990s - I reckon they meant it as a compliment...

I get your point about amateurs, but I think they've been in the bottom tier more recently. Not so long back they played Bradford, another former Prem club in the fourth div. It was a quiz question at the time
You're right. I don't remember that at all. Nice feeling to realise Swine Town have been relegated twice in one day.
-
Swindon in the basement for the first time since '85-86 I believe.
Took them 23 years to fall all the way from the top level to the bottom rung - amateurs...

Whichever way you think about it, or the reasons for it, 10 points out of the last 12 is a phenomenal turnaround.
Well done everyone connected with the team, and long may it continue.
13 points from a possible 19 I make it - previously we had accrued the same number of points from something like a possible 70.

Get in!
Particuarly pleasing that Flint gets the golden goal on the day Swindle are relegated.
Just need a good song, preferably one that already exists and can be adapted, as a momento of the occasion...

We have to get at least a draw. Depending on other results we may need to go to the team looking to clinch the title needing a positive result, or else find that our destiny is no longer in our hands come the final day against a fellow struggler.
