These really are extraordinary times. Sounds silly to say it but the suspension of football is weirdly unsettling. Nothing feels normal at the moment. Football is such a part of the fabric of our society, what on Earth are we going to talk about?!

I feel for the cricket  teams most of their fan base could be considered higher risk due to age and season due to start soon

I have been told that the sale of the Fruit Market land has been agreed, and there definitely won't any objections by anyone to a stadium there whatsoever, and the council are all on board with it.

I will be, used to pick apples from there.

If anyone has a spare ticket for row M of the canvas stand I'll take it off your hands, can meet you at Santa's Grotto, I'll be the be the one singing "Matty Taylor is a red"

I tried but apparently tickets have sold out months ago, mass lockout with screens being setup in local parks to cover all the rovers fans who couldn't get in.

Just been on asschat and you won’t be surprised to know they say it can’t be them as there was quarter of an hour left. Apparently groups of thugs hang around the stadium during the match hoping for trouble.

Repeat it couldn’t be da roverz

    Are they blaming the police?

Saying they were going to wave fivers at Morecombe fans, 6th richest club in the country, using Ashton Gate as a training ground ?

    Yeah, I remember...

The more you re-read these articles at the time the more you realise how much it reads like emperors new clothes. The press really have to take some of the blame here, there were people on this forum he researched this family more thoroughly than any of the professional journalists and were calling out the misinformation. Of course this was dismissed by the "loyal and true" as pure jealousy. It would be nice if some were prepared to come on here and apologise and admit just how far they fell for this bullshit.

I agree, he was just as bad though, at no point did he correct the billionaire stories.

That presenter, Alex Belfield, is a total dick.  He said to both Daryl and a fan "Get it into your thick head" as well as insulting the whole Mansfield team and its fanbase.

I don't know if anybody has listened to "Down the Line" but Alex Belfield sounds like an extreme version of Gary Bellamy who is a comic creation.

This is from his wiki; he has form for being a prat:

Over the years Belfield has courted controversy. In 2004 at Scarlet FM he regularly made the local newspapers after various stunts and controversial statements, with one listener describing his style as "moronic".[23] At Mansfield 103.2, he established a series of 'fake sackings' (one of which would involve Mansfield 103.2's managing director Tony Delahunty), in which he would pretend to be fired on the air and then magically reappear the following day.[24]In 2005 whilst hosting the late night radio show for Capital Gold Belfield referred to a mother of triplets as a "slapper". Belfield's comments were described as "ill-judged".[25] In 2010 whilst hosting BBC Radio Leeds mid-morning show Belfield was suspended for 1 day after making "lewd" comments about BBC Look North weather presenter Keeley Donovan.[26]

Totally got Clarke on the hook and biting though.

  9. If you are 1 of the 5 who has been told that you are not good enough and going in Jan but still being picked in the mean time I would imagine that your motivation to succeed won't really be that high.

That's on the manager who should be motivating the squad not telling the world how bad they are?

I bet clubs are queuing already to take them off their hands.

It's been clear for a couple of years looking at "improvements" to the mem that there isn't any money and the club was brought as an ego trip where the investment just isn't there.

When wael came in it was being reported that he was a billionaire, the club were richer than city etc. Nothing was said to dispel that by the club so seeing tents errected and clearly no investment forthcoming  is a real eye opener.

The other thing that bugs me is rovers fans keep patting themselves on the back saying that they are the best fans in the world and the best thing at club?

    Reality bites...

You're right but why has he even mentioned us? To gain support from the simpletons? Weird quote and he won't be long about unless another lot of asset strippers are buying the racist rovers.

I was wondering if he was speaking out because a takeover is imminent so feels safe doing so, other thought is he wants out and is calling out the board hoping they get rid so he gets paid off?

Is that the genuine headline? If so I think he will be gone shortly as gas board can’t let a dig at them go in my view.

tbf he is right, the hopes they had when they were taken over are ebbing away and he has had the rug when and truly pulled from his feet in terms of his squad pre season. I think they will be very lucky to stay in league one by the end of the season as it stands.

Oh it was all cringey stuff alright, but the quote was 'tried to invade the family section and seats

I seemed to have strayed from the original point that Rovers did not try to 'get into a family section' I find it hard to believe that the section next to us was a family section, it certainly didn't look like it, and I certainly didn't see seats thrown, although I concede in that video it looks like a couple of things were chucked.

Genuine question, is this correct as I did a google and it seems to point to the family section being for home and away families and the away fans in the barn park end. Like i said this is a question as i couldnt tell for sure.
