  1. I don't think he was out of his depth at all. He was targeted in the first half, without doubt, but as we went in 1-0 up that kind of tells a bit of story! He did not look out of place, so I would beg to differ!
  2. Hey Jerry as I don't see how I continue the dialogue on the original string, I have started a new one. Your response is followed by mine Morning, Robins TV what do I say. o Did you report it to them during the game via the bristolcitytvsupport@streamamg.com email address, would be the first question? . Ive made a screenshot of your message and sent to my colleagues in the media team and that's also the first question they've asked me to check as well. Can you confirm how long it was down and if it was ok for the Luton game? J Hi Jerry. The Luton fixture was fine. The last fixture where it went wrong is PNE after about 20 minutes. There are various places here (OTIB) where others were stating the same thing, thus this was an issue with your broadcast. The audio is continually over looked and I have written (tweeted) to JL on various occasions in the last season or two. It often is not switched on as well as not being properly maintained....I NOTE The email address provided, however this actually needs prominence as what typically happens is that people contact each other on here and bitch about the service, thus I would be asking the OTIB people to put a section together showing the numbers and emails that may be called if there is a system failure ON MATCH DAY. Are you advising me that the email address you are referring to is manned on matchday, so as issues can be addressed immediately? If that is the case they may want to be monitoring this site as until a protocol is made clear and obvious regarding fault reporting on Matchday!
  3. IF he is fit, definitely. However I would be unpopular on here by starting him for Massengo at least for now.
  4. Exactly. I was thinking along the same lines. For all of us knowing we need to be more aggressive in midfield we were simply not in the last two home games. The midfield looks tidy enough and runs around a lot as do the others, but the determination and out right grit you need to collect second balls was lacking today. For all the Massengo plaudits and all his attributes he can’t shoot or add an assist. Thus there is an increased burden to players that are pretty docile to begin with. Nonetheless I’m not sure I always feel the same at away games.
  5. Exactly! They had five golden opportunities in the first half...Ok three of them came in quick succession, but we could have been 0-3 at HT easily! But there we are it wasn't but talking with my mate @Southport Redhe predicted we would be pushed/fall further and further back after our goal and so it was....Not sure what to think right now, as I feel I could predict outcomes during games from what has gone before and obviously others do too! The lad on radio Brizz who said it was/is unwatchable is making a point about the last two games. We have been lucky at the back and can't create enough clear cut chances....I like the idea of building a solid team, from the back, but we are still not really that solid, luckily we have a goalkeeper that can keep us in games, thank goodness. The one thing I will say is that we need a leader thats further up the pitch. But who....James maybe....but no one was geeing up the players around them....Many payers looked flat to me. I predicted Scott was coming off when Wells was stripping as he couldn't get in the game, but I also predicted Semenyo to come on... I just feel like we do have a monkey on our back as a squad now, which is not helped by the stop them mentality, but the fact is we didn't stop them, they just missed a hatfull of gilt edge chances!
  6. For the love of god someone do a condensed version! @BigTone where are you?
  7. I posted on here some time before anything got announced on any subject (M&A related) that the club at the time were not letting any information out of the club and this felt like a quiet period before an announcement. (It’s in my posting history) People at the time were concerned of the lack of info from the club! Subsequently the Ipswich thing became common knowledge and SL went on a podcast stating his intent to look into investors/investment from outside. Your scenarios. Are thAt your scenarios. What has happened is relatively clear and has already put OUT there. No breach of rules has occurred to the best of anyone’s knowledge. The rule makers would include FA EFL IRS FBI HMIR UEFA FIFA et al. Mark Ashton has not been charged with any kind of misconduct and has clearly complied with rules to the best of anyone’s knowledge as of today. He is not in any danger of being barred from holding future directorships to my knowledge and anything else that is stated/speculated on here or anywhere else to the contrary could get people into a world of pain! Edit. I still don’t like him much, but have never met him so he could be a good bloke to have a beer with. Either way the man is not stupid enough to put his entire career in jeopardy particularly as he has been on the EFL board!
  8. Yes But I didn't say that he was not devoting some time working on non City projects, in fact I made it clear he was. Its a matter of knowledge!!! The issue is did SL and the board not know what he was doing. The breach of confidentiality, not to mention the breach of trust to an employer paying him 500k would have been enough for any suiter not to have gone through with the deal with him as it would have been clear that the person they were doing business with was not to be trusted. When you are paying out that kind of money having trust in the person/s you are doing business with is key! The idea that all this went trough while Ashton THE CEO of a rival business was not being open with his employer/Ipswich/The Buyer is fantasy born out of the dislike for the man, that many of us, including me, have for the individual! UK Fiduciary duty rules are in the link https://www.diligent.com/en-gb/blog/main-fiduciary-duties-uk-company-directors/ Furthermore under IRS and regulations in the USA deals of this kind are scrutinized by the IRS and in the case of big deals the FBI, this is to minimize money laundering issues in sport which are rife. furthermore The FA and The EFL dont wake up one morning to be told...Oh by the way Ipswich have new owners....! If someone has implied that Ashton breached his fiduciary duty no wonder threats/cease and desist notices have been issued ALLEGEDLY!
  9. You would have to ask Ashton and SL that. My tuppence is that probably not. If a deal was being struck for Ipswich that the owner and board of Bristol City were not aware of in some capacity then it’s highly likely action would have been taken long before it became public. The idea that an industry can keep a secret from others in the industry is almost laughable The board and the Lansdown family have now have connections. M&A is often about signaling. And the signals from the owner are pretty clear. It is now about kissing frogs until one turns into a Prince to use an awful industry metaphor.
  10. He was working on a deal that’s the point. SL was/is looking for partners buyers. Ashton was working on that, but he found buyers that couldn’t afford/want Bristol City/Bristol Sport-but could afford a club with some history and a decent catchment area like Ipswich. The rest is history. When you are interested in investment and acquisition you make as many friends and contacts as possible and this is clearly ongoing at our club. Source Steve Lansdown!
  11. The idea that Ashton was somehow working on a deal with Americans/Ipswich while being employed by Bristol City and no one knew anything is absurd, particularly when taking into account the context of SL stating he was actively looking for investment. I had no idea that a communication had been made to OITB over the mans departure. In my experience if that kind of thing happens in this kind of arena someone is a bit closer to the truth than others may like. If anyone knows anything I would be delighted to hear/read it.
  12. Again and again. If you can let me now who to contact to go through the problems I would appreciate it!
  13. The parallel is here for you. City spent multimillions and ended up dumping a dozen players a couple of months ago after having been easily and statistically the worst team in the division for months. The bloke while not fully responsible (LJ and to a much lesser extent Holden carry their share of the blame as does SL AND JL) he was the CEO and as such he was in charge. Almost the same things are now happening at Ipswich as they did here. I am not at all confident for the future of your club with this man anywhere near the board room.
  14. Yes I have a lot of sympathy with that view. It still didn’t stop me from mowing the living shit out of my lawn, but in retrospect this could lead to minds being concentrated!
  15. Yes. It’s a tough one. I think a lot of thoughts have been skewed by what’s happened in the last minute of the last two games. The way I see it is we have something very definite to work on in that respect. without being brilliant by any means against Blackpool we played ok. We did go deep defending the lead which lead to the goals, so something there too. However we were pants for months last season and as we discussed Pearson was given as much money as he cleared off the payroll and bought the lad from Oxford. I’m not even worrying until September. However I fully expect my lawn to have the living shit mowed out of it!
  16. If it doesn’t matter about details (facts related to goals) of goals then players obviously don’t have to take any responsibility for their actions on the field…..and thus it’s all Pearson’s fault.!
  17. We agree mostly. Tomlin was difficult bloke for LJ to handle. Did you ever here the podcast where Wilbo stated that he went to see LJ over Tomlin. Others have handled Tomlin Wilbo more than implies he took the piss out of LJ and completely lost respect for him and the club. As far as Webster was concerned there was no way the club can keep a player who is subject to a 20m Prem bid. It’s about how you fill those boots. My personal opinion is that Pearson will sort this but last night was a blow due to the fact we don’t have a competitive outlet for a biggish even still squad.
  18. Yeah: But that wasn’t what happened initially. Tomlin, Engval among several others were bought in. Yes I agree that in this regard it’s not necessarily important to point out that the players eventually/initially sold for big profits were not LJs players with a couple of obvious exceptions eventually Brownhill and Webster left for a lot of money. However we were ok initially it was Brownhill going in January that became a huge problem. My personal opinion is that LJ was as at least as responsible as SL and MA for approving the sale and not replacing these guys but it seems that he was given a pass as Ashton took the fall for purchases and sales with many and SL will always be ultimately responsible. After the restart we were terrible. There was only one place to look then. (We had been pretty poor leading up to the suspension of play) Anyway. Pearson has chucked out a dozen of the hangers on and is tasked with cutting back elsewhere substantially. Not really the start LJ had IMO.
  19.! Yah I know it…steaming I respectfully disagree. We started signing players when he came in. Players bought and developed by SC were eventually sold and we started the slow spiral of failing performance and poor footballers (poor footballers here any way) I think the quote from Wilbo was Steve was pretty fed up that he never had the financial backing that LJ did. So am I.
  20. I was so mad at the end I just got up and mowed the living shit out of the lawn. (It’s light where I live) Now I’m calmer. Let no one be under any illusion Johnson and the owner by his consistently backing of a numb nuts stealing a living out of the owners pocket and Mark Chillax Ashton, followed by a bloke who had no luck but was in fact clueless has lead to where we are! Enter Pearson, who has been told no money (the complete diametric opposite of Lee Johnson) unless he creates it. (That should tell you a lot straight away) Thus Pearson gives everyone a chance in the first two games (anyone disagree with this sentence) What we now know is we have a weak stomach as a squad (pardon my simile) However we also know Nagy wants to run away like a b****. Simpson is slower than my mother. Janneh should under no circumstances go on loan. OLeary is a bloody good goal keeper. Our first two center back pairings were mediocre. Wells works harder than anyone for nothing. James is a good player and Massengo had a goal (albeit a Peno in a shootout we lost). A long way to go before the window shuts let alone next effing May!
  21. NP will be pissed off if we go out now. With all our players this is an important competition!
  22. Not sure how to answer your comment s directly. But I just think….this division is a little bit too agricultural (I’m sure you get my drift) than what he needs to excel. I can see him in Italy or Spain doing well and getting on the ball and passing it. Even in the Prem. But here he looks like he offers little but a body with some touch. This can be said of HNM too. They are both in the wrong country in the wrong division, neither of whom offer so much as a shot on target for all their ability’s
