Yes mate I am. The atmosphere at the Gate is absolutely flat The south stand - which I believe sold out to season tickets? - is half empty most weeks The atmosphere is a product of what has been on show for so long. The football the last 5-6 years has been terrible

I think you’re over thinking this feeling of ‘sourness’. Apart from a few acting like heart broke teenagers on here - people are moving on I just think the football has been shit for so long - and so has the atmosphere. Let’s be completely honest, the atmosphere at Ashton Gate 95% of the time is absolutely dire . Completely flat - and a lot of that is driven by the dull football that’s been dished up consistently for the last 5-6 years

Clearly not as people are still having a melt down over the dismissal of ‘Nige’ Both the performances and results were poor yet people go on like he was one of the best managers we’ve ever had We hadn’t had back to back wins in over 30 games

I can understand people who are concerned he won’t be a success - but there are people who have already decided he won’t be People have come to this decision because they are blinkered by their views of JL and the way Pearson has been treated Draw a line under the plebs above - and let’s get behind the new bloke …..and if we are not top by Boxing Day. We can call for him to be sacked

I don’t think Nige would have taken us any higher than the sort of position we finished last season. Maybe between 12th - 16th perhaps I just didn’t see any real season on season improvement. I think Nige had done as much as he could He did a great job in the circumstances. He instilled discipline and bought the club back together - but I genuinely don’t think he could take us up a notch and turn us into a top 6 team . We have average players who are crying out for a coach who can help them develop and improve. I think Nige had taken this squad as far as he could As for Manning - genuinely no idea. It would be a pure finger in the air guess as I don't know enough about the guy and his style to form an opinion on how our squad will adapt and hopefully develop If I had to take a wild guess - I would say bottom half. Maybe 12th to 16th but that’s because I think our players will struggle to adapt to his methods

Nige wouldn’t have had us finishing 8th

It was the right time for a change. As you say - he has done a decent job but change doesn’t always have to be once things go so far south you find yourself with a new manager having to rebuild I can remember a few years back - and excuse me if my memory is not to good - but Southampton getting rid of Nigel Adkins and appointing Poch at a time when they were doing relatively well. There was uproar at the time as Adkins was very well liked - but Poch developed Saints quite a lot and took the club forward Now I’m not saying Manning is like Pochettino - I’m simply saying now was the time to try something different to try and take us up a notch As you have said - I seen nothing in the performances so far to indicate we would have kicked on under Pearson this year
