If Rovers had beat us to earn their tie at Chelsea, you could understand the gloating that is all over social media.

As it is, they are mocking us because of the luck of a cup draw..?!

Celebrate a fun day out in the capital against a top club by all means, but how they think it reflects on us is just bizzare!

    #gaslogic

Had the game been played on Tuesday we wouldnt have known any different!

  2. When was the last time England lost a competitive game to a team below them in the rankings?

im sure Uruguay were above us going into the last WC. We didn't lose at the euros, 2010 Germany must have been above us? So I make it Ukraine in 2009.

weve lost some friendlies that we shouldn't have, but so do other countries. Look at Spain. Terrible WC campaign as defending champions and lost to Slovakia in qualifying.

Ultimately we are a top 10 team that will beat most teams we play until we get to the later stages of a tournament.

  3. Those rating se just as bad, England shouldn't be near the top 10, along with Wales down in 44th with Japan ahead.

Why? Some will argue you can name 10 teams better than England but based on what? Their style of play? Their top players? Their results?

Belgium are currently ranked number 2 - they are hugely over rated. They haven't beaten anyone worth raving about, cant even credit them for beating France as they are poor now.

Only 2 teams have beaten us in a competitive fixture since Germany trounced us 5 years ago. Last years WC was a farce, but I still think we are a top 10 team at least. We are certainly better than Romania, Belgium, Chile and Wales, regardless of what those rankings might say, though I'd accept that Italy and Spain would still be above us and possibly Netherlands (along with the other teams that are above)

  4. Good on ya.

In fact il go one better, alchohol clearly clouded my judgement of the game because I didn't realise quite how much we dominated possession and chances (according to the stats on sky).

In my defence, when you are 2-0 down in a bar full of Leeds scum, you need to drink a LOT to get through it.

I still have concerns over the 3-5-2 in this league, but it's clear to see the fight and team spirit exists, and that's worth a lot!

  5. Our biggest local derby of the season ! When you think of Yeovil, no disrespect intended, you then realise we are missing our on derbies like other major cities in the country. So, go yourself the question, would you almost give your right arm for a Bristol derby in the Premier League that has the same adrenalin rush that Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, North London, Sheffield and Tyneside enjoy almost every year? Just ask a Wednesday fan how much they miss the annual Blades encounter. I want Rovers to get promoted this season and I want a Bristol derby sometime in our lifetime, fanciful and controversial but i bet a lot of you out there will agree with me.

So on to tonight. The form book goes out of the window does it? Not a bit of it in my opinion. We should win handsomely because, frankly, we are on the best run and having the best season in the lifetime of most City fans. Why should we be shrinking violets. Oh, but it is a local derby so I will go for the 1-1 then! 3 away wins on the trot? surely not.

Domesday Book, Roman, Black Death, Bombed in WWII thanks to Westland, Gary Johnson.. that is what crops up when you google Yeovil. Thats your history lesson for tonight chaps cos i am entertaining and the Risotto is starting to crackle so needs some more white wine.

    U riddddzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    OH go on then... 0-3

    Flint, Wilbs, JET Pen.

Nyt all. Hope I wake up to a decent result.. happy with a draw. Honest. :)

I think a Cardiff rivalry is more likely. Certainly next season, thats the big one.

  6. I'll go a bit against what everyone says about JET - he actually set-up pretty much all of our chances first half with good passes or beating a man.

People get annoyed when he has the ball kicked hard against him and can't control it - totally unfair. I actually feel pretty sorry him - he is never going to work hard but he will deliver goals and assists at this level and possibly even the one above. He will never change in terms of chasing down etc yet people seem to expect him to.

He was actually better than quite a few players today yet haven't much criticism of them. Williams had a shocker!

Agree with this, he was the only one who seemed capable of a "killer" pass forwards. There was little movement in front of him and Telford packed their half.

We dominated possession without having that creative age that's all.

  7. thats a typical performance from a team who thought all they had to do is show up, you can see the reasons why the fringe players aren't in the squad

Bit harsh, Waggy and Cunningham certainly put effort in and Kane had a great game in CM. The worst culprits were Williams and Ayling, too many turns and turn backs when they were last men with a Striker bearing down. Almost cost us a few times.

  8. So, with Wagstaff playing at RB our midfield is basically Kane, Jet and Pack?

    Is that right? :dunno:

Correct. Kane the best of the three so far.

Defence had nothing much to do except when we've given the ball away.

A great early save by fielding following his own miss kick, other than that Telford have nothing.

Seems like were going easy and trying to much, need to just move the ball - when we hVe done we've cut them open.

2 great saves from Telford keeper just before half time. We are in no danger of losing this at present, they just need some more urgency.

  9. This arguement that if you don't want halal then you are racist is nonsense.

If you think all animals deserve the same humane treatment then you will logically come to the conclusion that halal is unacceptable.

Yet these UK chains are telling us their halal meat uses the stun before slaughter method, so it follows the "humane treatment"

The only group that can truly take any moral high ground on this is vegetarians!

  10. Personally, I don't like the thought of halal meat because I don't think religion should be forced upon anyone.

However, I agree that a huge amount of people kicking up a fuss about halal meat have no interest in how their meat is slaughtered (all halal meats served by subway are stunned first so are humane).

I imagine in highly populated London branches, it makes perfect business sense. However it is frustrating as someone that frequents subway quite often when working away from my office that pork wont be on the menu.

I don't think there is a bigger issue of muslim culture being forced upon Britain. You only have to look at the attempts to set up sharia-law zones to see this.
