  1. I didn't realise it would be that far. I guess there would be a shuttle bus service from the station ? There aren't any boozers to break up the walk on the way either, only on the High St.
  2. Oh come now Major, there was that one game where we beat some team that we enjoyed. I think it was a long time ago...
  3. I'm not sure if that's a reply to me? Forest Green Rovers are building a swanky new stadium outside of Stonehouse so in theory there will be good train links from North and East (lower carbon footprint). If they then reopened the train line to Bristol they would have links to South and West. I guess the Nailsworth fans would have to travel by tandem bicycle to keep it green.
  4. 1000% agree. I'm reading his recent biography now and I'm hoping for at least 30 chapters about Mulligan and O'Hare
  5. Apparently there has long been talk of reopening the trainline from Stonehouse to Bristol, but (as with Charfield), there's no sign of it happening. FGR will of course be more local to Stonehouse in a few years, a 20 minute drive from Forest Green.
  6. Please don't mention playing against 10 men... ?
  7. I personally think a 4-4-1-1 suits us best, with Semenyo and O'Dowda playing out wide, Weimann in behind Martin. It's an easy shape for the players to know their roles and it can be flexible. You might say Semenyo isn't a wide player but he's shown he can support a right back. He would also be able to frequesntly swap with Weimann which gives defenders a difficult challenge. Scott would then he back up for Weimann and Semenyo and I'd use him in every game. I still think we'd have to suffer some lapses of football common sense, but that's always going to be the case this season with the profile of our squad. Importantly, I think this gives us threat in several areas, and more pace and trickery.
  8. In theory, I agree, but there must be a reason that Pearson chooses not to.
  9. Even worse than when Pacquiao and Mayweather fought, but not as bad as when Joshua finally fights Fury in 2042.
  10. I think the only way you secure Massengo, other than by adequate remuneration, is telling him he's the first name on the teamsheet. Will he get that at Fulham, for example?
  11. Did the agent then inform us of the £4.5m compensation fee and then we decided Holden was the stand out candidate?!
  12. Yeah, I was definitely not alone in saying earlier in the season that I was just happy that we were competitive in every game. Then we drastically dropped off at some point and became comically bad.
  13. That's a subjective statement. I think you'd look fabulous and should give it a try.??
  14. Yeah, surely Palmer was well-schooled at Chelsea? His footballing common sense doesn't seem to be there ? He's not alone in our squad mind.
  15. I actually said to my skeptical Mrs a few weeks back that I reckon skirts for men will be a thing in the next decade (not just in Scotland). Men in skinny jeans was once laughable but look at the builders sueezing jnto their jeans and preening themselves before a night out nowadays!

Then City gave him a 3 year deal with no clauses...! ?
  17. That definitely isn't the response I was expecting!
  18. I presume these climate concerns will end talk of a World Cup every two years?
  19. I read that and couldn't help but think of Weimann. I'm very happy with his goal return this season, but 'frenzied' has always been his MO. I agree that we need to be more savvy.

That's true, but Gould did then start willingly talking about long covid and specifically talked about low energy levels.
  21. Unless I've missed it, there seems to be very little chat about the comments from Gould that we're in the market for players in January due to our current emergency. I wonder how we make those deals? Seems like a bad market to be in, particularly when you're in a panic.
  22. It's yet another instalment in our club's grand tradition of finding a way to self-combust! Ha - yeah, what a great squad Hudds had back then, mind
  23. Agreed. However...making every pound count sounds like a fantastic business philosophy, but football is a strange business. Recruitment in football (the expensive bit) is very high risk due to injury (see Williams) and a variety of influences on form. Can we get our money worth out of Wells and Palmer? Doubtful. For starters how do you create a system that not only accommodates them both, but also works to their individual strengths? Could we compensate for the waste spent on those two by getting unexpected value out of young players like Scott and Bell? Hopefully, and perhaps that's what RG was on about; getting equivalent value on the pitch from the squad as a whole to the money spent overall.
  24. I want the TRUTH!!!! [Wait for it...]
