    Gregor going

I'll wish Gregor luck given part of his job is to read the forum ? Hopefully this is beneficial for the new family set up.
  2. I used to work for Jules Warren and it's great to see him do so well at Sky. Surely he has been lined up for this for a while?

    Downsy

I think they intentionally recruited someone who will appeal to kids so you're probably not supposed to like his man child style.

All he needs to do is apologise if any offence caused, then don't do it again. Why be stubborn?

    Downsy

I would agree that he shouldn't have tweeted that. It's not really professional.
  6. I feel reassured that we have 19 points before November, and we have a few games coming up against other teams in the bottom half.
  7. No no no Harry... "Deano the good human" knew both coaches intimately from the VIP football coach circuit and when he was offered the role of Head Coach he swiftly identified them as the men with the exact skills needed to implement his footballing vision. Then Deano rode a unicorn onto the pitch to introduce them to the press.
  8. Bell was very much outshone by Janneh in the FGR game. Other than being enthusiastic and a bit nippy, Bell didn't really show what his strengths are in that game. He just seemed a keen young player that needed to work on physical strength.
  9. Yeah we were all hoping they had connections but we didn't see any evidence of it. I agree that is the plan (depressing as it sounds), but I worry about the 'improve next season' bit. How? I presume we will improve by making some inspired recruitment (after all, we don't have money to spend), and by coaching our players to perform better (minus two coaches!) It places a lot of pressure on our recruitment (see other thread!) It also requires the continued development of our U23s as they will inevitably be part of the solution. The other part of the plan is to reduce the wage bill, which Nige and Gould should be able to do over time.
  10. We need to transition from taboo to normalisation and that will take some people being the pioneers in the public eye unfortunately. I can perfectly understand why they wouldn't want to though.
  11. Why is this happening now? If they were surplus to requirements, why didn't we get rid in the summer? Has something gone wrong behind the scenes?
  12. In the context of an equal society no we don't. In the context of our society whereby footballers feel they have to hide their homosexuality because of perceived consequences, it really could help.
  13. It is sad, but until people come out it will remain taboo, and so long as it remains taboo there will be the negative attitudes that hold society back.
  14. https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/970086/anthony-joshua-rob-mccracken-oleksandr-usyk-rematch-new-coach/ Joshua confirms he's mixing up his coaching set up for Usyk 2
  15. I think we can put to bed the theories that Tyson Fury will retire now. His good lady wife has been quoted as saying that she expects him to continue boxing for a couple more years. Hopefully that means that we can have confidence that the Joshua and maybe Usyk fights can be made. The good news is that Arum has asserted that a homecoming fight is due. He namedropped Dillian Whyte (I guess if they have no choice), and also Joe Joyce, who is a Frank Warren fighter and therefore is a very easy one to schedule. IFL TV are releasing an exclusive interview with Anthony Joshua today which I'm sure will be filled with talk about 'the process' and 'I'm still learning with every fight' and 'we go again'.
  16. Thanks for sharing buddy. ? It's the kind of thing I'd love to do if I didn't have bloody family life! ?
  17. Does that happen Harry? I used to work with a bloke who watched games for Rotherham in his spare time. I suppose that makes him an actual scout but he didn't know any more about football than me as far as I was aware and certainly wasn't much of a 5-aside player! I never understood how he ended up doing it.
  18. I think Barnsley will be talking now about how we are mentally weak and that if they keep us at bay and get the crowd on our backs it's there for the taking.
  19. Ashton might be gone but there is still so much weirdness at our club. Recruitment is one good example. The search for significant investment is also a weird elephant in the room. We know it is an active concept but we don't know any detail around it. And why are we refreshing the coaching personnel 3 months into the season? Are there issues behind the scenes as one poster suggested? Gould and Pearson seem like the types of people we need to get us on course but I'm still confused by much of what is going on.
  20. Sounds like an interesting time, feel free to expand on that ?
  21. I tried changing things up by wearing some new socks (with a red trim) for the WBA game. Won't be doing that again.
