Richard Hoskin summed up the significance pretty well. He didn't mention a draw though, which is what i expect. Villa a goal up at half time, but finish 1-1. BBC Radio Bristol's Richard Hoskin: "As we assess the start of the season for Bristol City, a lot hinges on the game with Aston Villa. "Win, and it's nine points out of 15 going into the international break. Lose, and it's three league defeats in a row - and two long weeks before they can do anything about it. "In fairness, it's been a tough couple of weeks - taking on Norwich, Newcastle and now Villa. But a victory against Roberto di Matteo's side would give City real belief they can challenge in the top half of the Championship this season."

I think set-pieces could be the difference today. I'd expect Wigan to try to keep it tight and counter attack. The defence might be hard to break down (hope not). So if O'Dowda, Tomlin and Kodjia can win some free-kicks in dangerous areas we need to punish them either direct from Tomlin or pinging it onto Flints head.

I think this will give Rovers the chance to compete with us. A north Bristol stadium with good facilities could sustain them long term. Hopefully it will drive Lansdown on to strengthen.

I'd love to have him back but... on the issue of his distribution, lets be realistic: he played 1 type of ball out of defence all game, the 7 iron loft up to the winger/striker. Never did he pass it. Although, playing for a better team, I'm sure he could.

Yet again you've sinfully broken the bumping-your-own-threads-up-the-list-rule, and here I am justifying it by replying! I'll never learn. Lansdown's web-apes will not be happy. In fact, they'll be going bananas.

You're breaking the holy forum laws as decreed by Steve Lansdown and his trained internet chimps. There, i've ruined your thread with surreal nonsense.
