  1. Okay, it was worth it for the finish.
  2. It's descending into a pub fight
  3. commentators way too complimentary of their man Whyte. He's shown zero finesse. Both fighters seemed to be heavily fatigued early on. Not a classic so far but a close fight with Whyte most likely now
  4. Parker has boxed nicely, but he seems tired
  5. Home crowd + early cut gave Selby a real uphill struggle but it must be said, he evidently abandoned his game plan because there was no real sense to his approach therein. I actually had it close but Selby will be kicking himself for not implementing some stick and move.
  6. Was just about to go a bit further and suggest we haven't had Joey looking magic since the United game.
  7. I think Wednesday need to rethink the tactic of not closing down defenders. It allows the opposition time on the ball at the back and stops them being able to keep any momentum going. Clearly something that they coach as they didn't adapt until last 20. They also rarely managed to pass around our high press. LJ had done his homework.
  8. Very good away performance. Nullified very good players with hard graft and discipline. Didn't quite have the killer instinct to score.
  9. Why did Djuric get high praise on radio but criticised by fans? Paterson wouldn't shut up about how good he was playing.
  10. Back to Fury, if only he'd listened to his corner who told him to throw his right hand more. The 1-2 down the pipe could have won him the fight. He'll be kicking himself today. The game plan was clearly to disrupt Parker's rhythm, never stand in front of him, and pot shot. But it's almost like he took the gameplan too literally and forgot that he has to engage enough to win rounds clearly. Parker seems like a really nice bloke, but he's a very one-dimensional fighter. Klitschko should come out of retirement to fight for the WBO belt because it's there for the taking. I can't see Parker lasting 6 rounds with Wilder or Joshua. What now for Fury? If he doesn't trust his power or his chin he needs to find a strategy that can win elite level fights. Edit: by the way, a draw would have been a fair result
  11. Normally this would be a game that we expect to lose but the current form has got us all a bit giddy. I guess we'll see just how potent our momentum is right now. You can guarantee that a win would get us all talking about the Premiership etc etc. Perhaps a drab 1-0 defeat is more likely and would put our hopes in check? I really don't know... I'll sit on the fence and predict 1-1.
  12. Do people still sing that? I never got it. Why do we clap our hand when we tell the Rovers to??
  13. With Klitschko and Tyson Fury out the picture it leaves AJ with limited eye-catching options. Casual fans won't be enticed by names such as Pulev and Ortiz, so Hearn will be tasked with stacking the card and hosting domestic fights. The AJ/Matchroom plan to break America is held back by his mandatories so it'll be interesting to see if both those fights happen. These chump heavyweights in the US would line up for the money fight and all roads lead to Wilder. That's his only glamourous option. Actually, at this stage of his develomment, Pulev is a good match up. But with the expectation of the paying public, and his teams own ambitions at such high levels, it now feels like Joshua's fights could lose their sparkle. Klitschko knows what that feels like.
  14. I love that Paul Dempsey has only ever tried one hairstyle
  15. I was worried for Williams when he started blinking repeatedly but he had a great round. He can target that eye with left hooks
  16. Cor, scary physique on Dubois. Im surprised he didn't wait til after the next Olympics but he'll be an interesting one to follow.
  17. This could be the first game toward survival or the first game toward being adrift in the bottow three. I predict an error-strewn draw.
  18. Ref: inconsistent, petty City: dominating midfield, wasteful possession Burton: scrappy, defensive, but better delivery Reid not good
  19. Back 4, strong midfield, Tomlin in his best position, top scorer up front. Strong bench to supplement. I like it!
