    Runners!

I managed a personal best mile time of 3:17 tonight. Obviously I didn't really, it was just my Garmin going sketchy for some reason. It added an extra half mile detour that never happened. That's one PB I'll never break!
  2. What a goal! That looked like a hard earned point!
  3. That's brilliant, how dare people say football fans are fickle?!
  4. By your logic we may as well just shut down all football below men's champions league because by comparison everything else is crap.
  5. It's getting better mate, don't worry. The more support the women get the higher the standard will be raised. The elite players are awesome.
  6. You wanted tackles.... you get tackles...

    Great effort Tom ?
  8. That's in the league cup against lesser opposition but will no doubt give them lift ahead of some more winnable league games

Can just be summat slow and easy. I'm keen for this virtual Running Club to get engaged. I have a vision of the OTIB runners completing a challenge some time next year to raise money for a good cause.

Yeah I'm happy with an inaugural OTIB 10k either fast or slow.

We'll have to do a South Glos division OTIB Runners amble at some point ? Natch at the finish line of course...
  12. One sort of counterpoint to that... I watched the latter stages of the women's Champions League and one of the impressive things I noticed (BIG contrast with the men's CL) was there was no diving! It was different from what you saw because there were actually some challenges and physicality was allowed. Like with the lower leagues in men's football. It's quite ironic that in the CL, Neymar et al were flinging themselves to ground and yelping at every contact, yet the PSG Women stayed on their feet and didn't 'bitch'!
  13. If the financial climate wasn't so bad Lansdown might have been tempted to invest more in the women. There are so few clubs with proper funding that there's a real opportunity to have a top side. Just look at Lyon.

I like your thinking. To be fair, wind is more my enemy than rain. At least with rain you can keep your pace consistent. That said, I postponed my longer run from this morning to tomorrow morning before work just because I prefer the forecast. Love those country lanes btw. Nice and flat, all farms and fields and very little traffic.
  15. Yeah, we're rock bottom so far, but it's gonna be all about the 6 pointers with the other 4 winless teams. Just got to survive again this season.
  16. City took a shock lead away at Arsenal today before the Gunners piled on the pressure. We finally caved in 42nd minute and now 1-1 at half time.
  17. We had the same conversation about Massengo this time last season. Bakinson is 8 months away from being a Premier league footballer if he can keep his standards up. It could be life changing for him and £20m for us. But that's a big ask.
  18. I think some people are being overly critical of Bakinson, even re the 1st half. He worked hard from start to finish and had an incredibly busy day. Overall he did enough for a 7/10

Tempting... ? I'll probably put the long sleeves on, and I find wearing a cap prevents the irritation of rain on face, but guaranteed to get soaked.

So...how do we maintain our mileage with rainy weather?

I think most events have ruled out Spring and are hoping for the Autumn 2021 What have you slowed to and from out of interest?

Here's a fun question... Have you ever followed a City game during a run? That could be commentary, stream, OTIB etc. I'm out with club at 7 tonight so tempted to keep my phone at hand to follow the BBC commentary... Bit unsociable, but hey, it's important!
  23. Southampton didn't do too bad last season (mens)
  24. I'm glad you don't work for the marketing team then! That's true I guess but investing in the women is also a noble move. Lyon took the female set up seriously and now have the best team in the world. That gives French women an incentive to play football. We were in the Champions League a few years ago!
  25. 5... at half time but against a top team. Tough week for the women but survival will depend more on those 6 pointers. Would be nice to find the net.
