    Sorry, cycling? Urgh...
  2. Hopefully you can find some good content on it. It's a shame that fighting tradition didn't ever manifest in the modern boxing era. I know we had some success with Hale, Catley, Francis and Couch, but really Haskins is about as big time as our boxing gets, which compared to Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Sheffield really isn't a lot.
  3. Well given the Irish gangster that brokered the deal is based in Dubai, I think I know what to expect...
  4. Hi mate, the only book I've read about the old bear-knuckle days was Tom Spring - Bareknuckle Champion of All England who was a Hereford fighter and a pupil of Thomas Cribb. It's worth a read if you want to learn about fighting in those days. Cribb is the big name in terms of Bristolian champions, but I don't know if he has a biography. You should be able to find books about the history of bare knuckle fighting in general. Looks like Bare Fists is on Amazon. But more detail on Bristol fighters, I'm not sure. Let us know what you find out though.
  5. Yeah Fury might be in peak condition nowadays, but he can't fight Wilder, Whyte and Joshua twice in a 12 month period. Something's got to give... Sounds like the WBC might undermine Whyte's cause anyway. They can use Covid to reset title deadlines.
  6. Yeah I genuinely think he'll fight anyone. At his age, making a retirement fund becomes top priority. If he can make a few million by fighting Wilder and Dubois, say, he might be angry about the lack of world title opportunities, but at least he'll be a very wealthy man. He'll probably then get his chance in the twilight of his career when he doesn't quite have the same potency.
  7. If Fury gets through Wilder unscathed, why not Wilder v Whyte? At least he could get a good payday at MSG or Vegas. If the titles are tied up, Whyte needs a big name in the opposite corner.
  8. I searched and looks like it was reported in The Scum newspaper, but they may have got it from somewhere reliable. My guess was only 5% off, if that's true! As you say, tough on Whyte, but also all of those sub elite heavyweights that are trying to stay patient. Fury and Joshua have to win their next fights, which isn't guaranteed, but if they do, they'll have tied up all the belts for the whole of 2021. Whyte could be approaching 34 years old before he gets a chance. Daniel Dubois, however, would be 24 and much more qualified to compete for the crown.
  9. Wow, they really are being sensible about this. Where did you see that reported?
  10. You're probably right, but I doubt Eddie Hearn would accept that!
  11. Thanks for sharing, I hadn't heard of him. Is Wilder sure he wants to piss off the Irish mafia?! Great news that this has been agreed though. I wonder if it settled on 55/45 AJ then the same to the winner of fight 1 for the rematch. They're all getting rich one way or another.
  12. Just let the assistant deal with it. O'Neil can still link kn remotely. It's not great but workable.

Isn't it always the way that you take the high mileage months for granted, then realise how lucky you were when a niggle (or worse) comes along! I've had about 5 weeks of 'rest' following a sprained ankle and random subsequent medical knee pain and it's so bloody frustrating! I did 4 miles today, hopefully back to it now depending on how the knee responds. You'll come back, but it takes patience. Do strengthening whilst you can't run so you can come back stronger.
  14. Presume us fans abroad can still tune in on our regular arrangement?!
  15. Aren't they tested both before and after joining the group? So, how would they infect each other?
  16. The Football Daily podcast on BBC Sport has a good episode today on What Football Will Look Like.
  17. A while back they were suggesting a two week turnaround. Dunno if that's still the case...
  18. We can squeeze 5,000 die hard fans in the Three Lions
  19. I honestly don't think there is much risk to health if football resumes. Pubs would be a bigger threat.
  20. This weekend, the Prem testing has shown a clean bill of health for the 1k+ players and staff.

Worth a mention... Nike has a 30% discount on everything including running kit and shoes. I think it last til end of today. Just use the code NIKE30 on the official Nike site. It doesn't look like you can buy Vaporfly, but all the Zoom, Pegasus, Downshifter and the like are on there but sizes selling out fast...

One day they'll make a Netflix series about your OTIB running club exploits and it'll be huge. All runners welcome here. This thread has been really handy for tips and support. Hope the malarkey treats you well ?

If anyone would like to hear Ronnie talking about running, he recently did a half hour podcast chat on The Way of the Runner pod. I may have mentioned this before, can't be arsed to check!
