Take it steady brother, I'm sure it'll be sweet relief to be back out there. A week of sunshine too. I'm sure our OTIB clan will be clocking up the miles.

The Coronavirus and its impact on sport/Fans Return (Merged)

Cool, that means we're now tracking behind Italy at same point. Guardian said 281 new deaths and I got worried. -

Is it 281 dead in UK in total, or in past 24 hours? -

Yeah and to he fair to Johnson, I doubt he makes many decisions. If the rumours are true about callous Cummings battling with scientific advice, then a serious review needs to be taken, as it could have cost us dearly. I also accept that we don't know if it is true...yet. -

You could always fight the screws so that they put you in isolation... -

I don't want to be the one to prove his point by copying and pasting a dictionary definition! Look I'm sure we're not so far apart here. I think that those extra weeks to observe other countries should have made us better equipped. You don't think it makes a difference. I'm happy to have a friendly disagreement on that point. -

Good job we all had Italy, France and Spain to look to to make considered decisions. -

I don't have an issue with the phased approach of the move towards lockdown. But I have felt all along the government were too slow to get started and would have protected more people had they looked at what was going on and acted quickly. There was that pointless business as usual phase. -
Welcome to our three new runners ???
-
I'm guessing most people's running clubs are on hold so our OTIB group's virtual club could come in handy. Maybe we can organise an OTIB run in April/May, all virtually of course (we'll probably be just going around the block 100 times by then!) What do we think about running with others? I'm joining a mate on sunday but thinking I'll stay a metre apart when running. We can still chat and run that way.

But the dilemna is that if a relative of yours passed away as a result of these workers spreading the virus you might have a different view. Tricky innit. -

That data is probably already out there. Doesn't sound like a difficult comparison if someone wanted to do it. -

Ultimately the government's approach will be judged on the UK death toll versus other nations such as France and Germany. It'll be a long time before we can apply this comparison though. -

I can confirm that Sainos are limiting sales of milk, and even bottles of wine, but that there are no limits on beer and cider. Fill your boots and and you'll barely even notice lockdown... -

Oh, Charlton, the game where our players took a lead then seemed to become fatigued and weakened and ended up losing and going on a horrible run... I'm not blaming you, but questions have to be asked... -

Yeah and I have two thoughts about that. Firstly, it sounds dystopian. Secondly, maybe we should be taken more stringent measures in line with other countries. -

And people think our Gov't has finally taken the required measures... In France you will be fined for leaving the home for unnecessary reasons. Either they're going OTT, or we are being put at risk by our lawmakers. Time will tell. -

Here's another analogy... Lee Johnson decides he's going to play only 2 defenders in his line up, when all other clubs play 3, 4 or 5 defenders. Naturally, half the fans are saying 'hang on, that leaves us exposed at the back!' Now Lee might have uncovered a genius tactic that goes on to be successful, but it's rational to wonder if he's got his coaching all wrong.
