  1. There is also that possibility that Twine hasn't reproduced what he does on the training pitch when he's in the game Based on performances I'd say no to signing him, but bringing unknowables into account, I'll remain agnostic.
  2. If SL does an interview, I can guarantee we won't come out of it any happier!! I'd probably advise his to stay in his underground lair in the Channel Isles for a while. What he'll probably do is a short interview for Radio Bristol in which he manages to enrage supporters with a snide comment about Nige, reference to fans needing to be more patient and understanding and and confirmation that we'll be cutting our cloth and going again with our Premier League ready squad.
  3. Yeboah didn't look anything like ready to me. I was a bit baffled that he was getting so many appearances. Just my opinion obvs
  4. Last year, I though Pring looked like a future Premier League player, now it's Roberts who looks more likely of the two. It'll be interesting to see how they both get on next season (if they stay).
  5. Oh so you've cherry picked an arbitrary selection of Silvio's posts and manipulated the data to make a point???!!

    Manning

I though Sheffield Wednesday looked up for it both times we played them.
  7. So we don't think Tinnion will try to assert authority if LM doesn't respect the pathway?
  8. The thing that always perplexes me though is, we have Tinnion who is Mr Pathway, and there's a perception out there that Manning is here to be Tinnion's henchman. So, does Manning have the authority to snub the pathway? Surely it's an ironclad part of his remit?

Roberts wasn't too bad. And, um, that's it.
  10. Totally agree with all of that. Interestingly, comms/PR is a big part of the problem, as many of your examples refer to bodged communication. Genuinely, I could do better PR for the club, and so could you Pete. It's a really important part of the club's relationship with the fans and it has been shocking for years. I'm not totally against our recruitment because some of it has been really good, but I would love a proper DoF; someone with experience. Unfortunately, our billionaire owner won't pay good money for that.
  11. Cup games, Southampton to name the obvious (from memory, we used the block?)

Tanner is the biggest backwards passer I've ever seen at the club, but he's a bloody good defender so I'll let him off! He mostly did well yesterday, as an aside.
  13. That has definitely crossed my mind, but there is also the issue that we play one up top and Wells wants and arguably deserves his share of minutes.
  14. Yeah the Swansea game I think you and I were both annoyed with the block, which didn't work and is Manning's poor decision. I think another factor to the performance was that our players looked liked their confidence was shot. Not all of the individual errors were related to the tactics, but you could argue that cautiousness bred nervousness. I think Manning's defence was that we didn't moan about the block when it worked. And he's got point. But he should have just said, yeah I got it wrong.
  15. Yeah totally. He was in 'destined for the Premier League' territory last season and looks much more like he's at his level this season, under both managers.
  16. Yeah there was the narrative that the cup didn't matter and ppg was the important thing, and that Manning could only beat the good teams. Then we won games in the league, beat teams below us, improved our ppg, and suddenly the real issue is the quality of our wins. They're not good enough wins. We should be winning in a much more glorious manner. Thankfully there are also sensible critics of Manning too, but some of the noise is amusing.
  17. I do agree, and I personally would sacrifice results at this point. The only counter argument I would make is... how do you think senior players will feel being left out, particularly if they're players like McCrorie, Roberts and Tamner who have had to spend time on the bench or injured already this season and are desperate for gametime for their own needs. I personally would have benched Pring and played JKL.
  18. Yeah absolutely, I'm thinking that Manning should have a good idea if Twine is too good for L1 and capable of high end Champ. I'll be the first to criticise if we sign him and Twine turns out to be not worth the investment.
  19. Pearson is the first manager we'd had for donkey's years who had top flight experience, promotion success and tons of football common-sense, there's no disputing that. Whether we would have picked up more points with Nige still here is a total mystery, however.
  20. We've been talking about 'par', and I think we're very much a 1.4 ppg team this season. That's our level. With a little bit of investment we could be 1.5 to 1.6 and its happy days
  21. If the stats point to Manning being a bit 'lucky' (let's simplify), then I can't really argue with that. It raises a question mark about the future and whether our chickens will come home to roost, or whatever the poultry saying is. If, however, we are lucky over a sustained period, you'd tend to feel that we must be making our own luck. Clearly, if Manning can add another 10-15% of that good fortune, we'll all be applauding him. It's an interesting one.
  22. If you dug up my posts mate and I'm pretty sure I was predicting 10-12th. This was when it was clear that we weren't backing Nige with the Scott money.
  23. We conceded numerous chances in the Plymouth 4-1, which we didn't in the Blackburn game (if we're applying your logic)
