TGH is the midfielder with the best technique in the squad currently, capable of taking decent set pieces and happy to shoot from outside the box. At 22, he should have growth in him too. That said, I don’t see the rush to sign him now if everything is already agreed to make it a perm in June. Assess it then and see where we are IMO, but give him opportunities in centre mid until that time (unless we sign better this month).

I don’t think he’s been a great signing but if the board only made £300k available for a striker, I very much doubt we’d have got anyone else in with a better record at this level than Cornick. The board set the budget, the recruitment team IDs those within budget, the manager chose from the options put in front of him. Today reminded me a bit of our win at Cardiff under Holden a few years ago. Outplayed for 70-80 minutes, our keeper (Bentley back then, Max today) has a blinder, and we ride our luck to see it out. A welcome three points but far from convincing IMO.
