It's a question of what comes first.

Did he ask for a move when he came back from a very good Euro's, or did he realise he wasn't going to start games and thought sod this.
I don't understand how 2 very good players in the Euro's can't get in a bang average Championship side.
Nige has the right to pick whoever he wants, but you can't help but wonder.

It stands to reason that Nagy is a high earner, as are Kalas, Palmer and Wells. NP has said we need to reduce our wage bill. If buyers can be found for them, I wouldn’t be surprised to see all of them leave before the end of the month (although Palmer seems to have a future).

  2. Assuming Glos lose to Hants next week, which is eminently possible, it would be a travesty that a side with FIVE CC wins this season doesn't go through to the First Division IMO. Yorkshire, who are top of Group 3, are the only other team to have won as many games as we have at this stage of the competition.

I think we'll be up against versus Hampshire.

Still on the subject of players called up by the ECB, whilst I am not surprised he was not called up (given his unfortunate previous appearance), in normal circumstances James Bracey, currently 83NO for Glos, should have been called up.

As it stands, he could well be instrumental in Glos winning their game against against Middlesex and threatenting Somerset's position - I know Glos and Hants play each their in the last round of matches.

With the greatest respect, you clearly don’t watch Glos very often if you think Bracey should be in this latest England squad. His confidence is shot, IMO, although I hope today’s knock does him the world of good.

  4. Fair play to Somerset. They got their yorkers in and we lacked any invention to get around them. Losing the toss was a bat start for us as well, we prefer to chase.

If Bracey holds on to Conway it might have been different. He’s absolute class.. hope he takes this into the CC games

He will. Extraordinary to think he's not even sure he'll get back into NZ after this summer, because of the virus and the fact he doesn't have a NZ passport!

I'd bring him in and also put Leach in for Goldsworthy myself.

Spin's definitely the way to go in Bristol. Not only are we shit at playing it, but our spinner (Tom Smith) is probably our best T20 bowler in terms of economy rate.

Cracking win for Glos against Glamorgan tonight, now top of the South Group?. Glenn Phillips scored an explosive 94 not out.

I'm not a big fan of T20 but I popped down last night and my god did Phillips smash it everywhere. That reserve sweep over third man was an incredible shot, but I loved his shots in the V. A controlled, classy, violent innings. Smith also bowled very well.

    Re questions 5 and 6.

I think we need to sign in a variety of positions, and can't really pick a priority. I put ACM as last couple of seasons it's been the supply to the strikers that's been lacking.

I've not been following transfer rumours this off-season. I've therefore no idea who we've been linked with or haven't been linked with so honestly am not 100% sure who these blokes are that you've listed. I put King, because he's a King.

I'd have preferred an extra "I'm not confident but he seems alright for now" option on Pearson.

I put down RB as a priority because right now, we don’t have one and I’m yet to be convinced Vyner has what it takes at this level. Big season for him next year.

Apart from Hamkond again. I think what we are seeing is what we have known for a few seasons, there is little strength in depth. Take out Brathwaite, Bracey and Van Buuren and we look like the old Glos. :(

Yeah, you’re absolutely right. We’ve got the nucleus of a decent side, but take out those three and add Higgins’ and Dent’s losses of form and this is the result. Ah well, it was nice while it lasted.

Looks like Miles Hammond is going to get himself a reputation as a player of spin.

He started as an offie, don’t forget.

Dismal from Glos over these last three days. Everyone knows the class of Amla, but we let a strong position on day one slip and batted woefully.

Edgbaston allowed to be at 72% capacity for each day with 18,000 people in attendance of the test as latest pilot event..... compared to the 10,000 total allowed for championship play off event in Wembley

    Yeah that makes sense...

A mate and I have tickets for that and will be going, weather permitting.

Bracey in? Billings has been called up as well breaking the no IPL player idea. Interested as to who the next glovesman would have been after Buttler, Bairstow, Bracey, Billings and Foakes.

I've heard Bracey will keep for England this week. Great news for Glos fans and thoroughly deserved for the dirty gashead.

I'd like to see Hameed come straight in for either Sibley or Burns. Burns has more form right now, though.

Surrey will probably be missing their England contingent. Though that'll mean Glos miss Bracey as well.

Good point, I’d overlooked that. Surrey will still have Amla and Stoneman, though.

I reckon Bracey’s 50/50 for his Test debut, in which case he might play at the Oval. Silverwood will probably go Burns, Sibley, Crawley, Root, Pope, Bracey/Lawrence, Foakes, Robinson/Overton, Leach, Wood, Anderson.
