  1. I was surprised too. And they acknowledged that you won't find many other Ipswich fans saying the same. But it did give me a little greater respect for their judgement!!
  2. It’s certainly true that Scott Murray’s van was parked out the back!! But I think wearing Ipswich coats might be taking it too far…..and anyway, pretty sure I’d have spotted it was him
  3. But that’s a view based on four games. You wouldn’t have been saying that four games ago. This is talking next season/four years! Clearly there’s a scenario where we simply lose the next four then the next four but a) I don’t think that will happen and b) I’m not convinced that yet another change at the top in the midst of that would really help.
  4. Lee Johnson’s four year tenure saw a significant shift, from the club being a yo-yo Championship relegation/L1 promotion club to being an established mid table (even, dare I say it, top half!) Championship club. If we can get a similar degree of shift out of a four year Liam Manning tenure (to yo-yo PL/Championship) then I for one will be happy.
  5. Does your mate also think Mark Ashton is a t w a t? (A less commonly held view in Ipswich). If so, I think I might have met him last night?! You’re right: it was based on far far more than just one match! They’ve followed his career and were able to talk about other City games this season. On that last point about a turn around. I’d agree with you - up to a point. But two things 1. There was no need to turn things around on the pitch, on the football front. But I think most of us feel that the change came about because of things elsewhere. And if that was about breakdowns of relationship and trust then there was a need for change. And you can argue til you’re blue in the face about where that change needed to be, but it was only ever going to end one way. And, of course, any change at that level in the footballing side is going to come with change there too. 2. Whilst what you say may be true, and there was no need for change, the fact is that there was. And that will take time. Hence their view being about this time next season, not now.
  6. Talking to a couple of Ipswich fans in the hotel bar this evening. Just some context, in terms of their judgement: we asked what they thought of Mark Ashton: “t w a t”. Then, can we have Wes Burns back. “Only if we can have Liam Manning back when McKenna gets poached” Really? Yes: “you’ve got a top coach, one of the best……give him til this time next season and you’ll be glad you did…….best organised side here this season” Just saying.
  7. Well, that was the most bizarre half time “entertainment” I’ve seen for some time.
  8. Can’t say I’ve ever seen Pring or McCrorie in the same sentence as Maradona before! But yes!!
  9. Pring is fit as a fiddle. McCrorie has a knock.
  10. Football clubs that sell you an overpriced bottle of water…..and won’t trust you enough to leave the top on. Looking at you Ipswich.
  11. My worry is that you, and others, are double bluffing your way to certain defeat tonight There’s way too much positivity, based on the obvious likelihood of us getting stuffed tonight. I’m worried.
  12. I’ve seen a lot of them here in Ipswich…….
  13. What’s always a pain at WBA is that you’re made to go out of the ground a different way to the way most people go in. So, Mercure hotel being a case in point, you spend 10 minutes walking in completely the opposite direction to the way you need to go to get back to the car. Also @forbespm - don’t know if you used that before, but if not just be aware that getting to and from it by road isn’t as straightforward as it looks!
  14. Or…..the Repair Shop Comic Relief version, that’s currently being run as a trailer…. ”yeh, well I’m afraid it’s knackered and past it…just bin it”
  15. First rule of OTIB, Super. If there's an angle for criticising Manning, start at least three threads on it. Second rule. Most things are open to interpretation. Find the right angle. I'm beginning to think that Liam Manning is to OTIB what Megan Markle is to the Daily Mail. (And, yes, "Nige" is our own Kate Middleton)
  16. Oh 100% RR. And as I understand it Fam was as gracious as ever. Well, 99% - I have to say I find it hard not to have a smile about the way Eric Cantona dealt with it!
  17. Do you remember that Wallace and Gromit ‘Creature Comforts’ ad for Heat Electric in the ‘90s? Voted one of the most popular ads of the time in surveys. The only problem was that the surveys also found that most people thought they were advertising gas!
  18. Works both ways mind, RR. Reading the reports of the grief Fammy was given on Saturday, you’d not really blame him for shutting it out. I do agree with your sentiment though.
  19. To be honest, my first thought is that the police should have just left them to get on with it.
  20. English Summer……Eurythmics
  21. God’s Great Banana Skin…….Chris Rea
  22. It gets worse Dolly,….you’ll reach the time where they start offering you their seat on the bus/tube.
  23. Interesting, thanks Dave. You monitor these things far more assiduously than I do! I'm surprised none at all first 19. The only time slot I've been watching recently is 45-60: we thankfully seem to have lost that habit of conceding then every week! Albeit Wednesday didn't need to, and Cardiff weren't too long after!
  24. Fair enough! And no you probably didn't! It was others crediting the TV, luck, NP etc that I started by responding to - you just came along with David Moyes' injury hit squad at the last minute!! Sorry!! I try to look for positives. I agree that's been hard at times. I see change, which is always difficult (and suggesting it wasn't going to be was another foolish part of the Board's handling) and yesterday certainly frustration and draining confidence. I'm hoping for something more positive Tuesday - but not holding my breath! COYR.
