(Slightly over-the-top?) tribute to Pembo (brought on by guilt?) just appeared on the OS. If I was a cynic I'd say the Club was given a nudge to do this by the fans after the insulting "relieved of duties" sentence the other day.

I agree. I'll leave the debate about him being part of our downfall this season to the other threads.
He deserves thanks for steadying the ship and being a part of our title winning season, and regardless of how its turned out he at least deserved a "thanks for your service" from the club. I bet LJ gets more when he finally goes!
Further to the debate as to how much Pembo is responsible for our fall, the other factor is that the fall began at the time of Holden's arrival. i can imagine that there might have been been considerable tension between the 2 "assistant" managers. How could that ever work?

Thanks Pembo. Top, top, straight-talking bloke respected by the players, who saved us from relegation and went on to win the double alongside SC. I'll never forget that special, special night you helped to give us at Bradford City. Very best of luck for the future.
The fact that Pembo didn't even get a thankyou on the Official Site - just a "relieved of duties" - signifies to me that he must have disagreed so violently with what Johnson was doing on more than one occasion - that he could have saved us once again if LJ had been sacked instead.
The whole episode shows what a shower of shite they are. He's best off out of it.

Sorry to be misery guts, but even after all the 'feel good factor' of pinching Matty Taylor for £300k, don't believe LJ will inspire us to a win tonight. More likely to 'improve' on our record of 8 league defeats in a row by making it 9. Truly hope, I'm wrong.
BTW. Will Taylor be eligible to play, (although assume he would be on subs bench if so).?
Nah mate. Straight in at left wing

Looked at the clip pf the goal. I thought that way of flipping the ball up at a free kick for a volley had been banned years ago??

Good day everyone and a very happy Christmas. I do hope our Boxing Day will be full of Christmas cheer.
Unless we play Inverness Caledonian Thistle anytime soon this fixture is likely to hold the mantle as the longest match day thread title of all time; Apart from Cale Thistle, Wolves have the longest name in British football.
Havanatopia my dear chap, Festive Greetings to you. Splendid potted history/cultural profile/demographic lash-up etc.etc. Personally I hate it when I'm the OP and some pedantic ninny misses the main thrust of my post and goes off down the windmills of their mind being a clever dick but that's just what I'm going to do when someone else has exposed their flank and offer you 2 brotherly words at this Yuletide Festival of Football - Hamilton Academical.

Got to disagree with the bad comments about Sheffield. Much prefer it to Leeds who are truly up themselves. By contrast Sheffield is a warm friendly place. My daughter went to Leeds Uni. what made it bearable was going to visit her friends in Sheffield, where she fell in love and has been happy even since. Tra La.
Big Tone take note. Just avoid that pub up the hill from the station. The West Riding constabulary love kettling City in that place.

A point is enough for both teams. sensible team selection. Wagstaff would be handy second half.

Pembo - bless. he's going for it.
Gladwin straight in, Burns, Freeman, Bryan

At least now if Wilbraham is on the pitch for his defensive qualities at that point, he'll not have 90+ minutes in his legs.
Very good point mate. He can used as a wise head substitute at the shakey times.

Yes mate. I was there for that one. My son and I totally soaked just walking from the car park to the ground. Amidst all the mud slime rain and filth we ground out that one-nil with a slide -in from 3 metres by Tamas. what a day. Can't be sure it might have been 2 metres or even 1?

Can honestly say over the years there have been very hard times for the fans - nearly going out of the League, continually not getting the players, not getting the right manager etc..but this level of intrigue and dirty tricks is a new low for me in our club's history. And it's a combination of the owners despotic arrogance and the "new Johnson nepotism". At least Gary gave us 4 glorious years. Maybe that's why the owner is infatuated with Junior?
