  1. Always had a soft spot for Hartlepool, ever since the Roberts/Goodfellow show. Is it 13 years now?
  2. Can someone PM me when it's confirmed, please? Very much hope it goes tits up for them.
  3. Why do you think kids and folk alike, from the provincial towns and countryside, adopt a 'second team'? "Miles away" in more ways than one, it seems.
  4. Ah, Uncle, isn't it that magical 'Wurthers time of the year' again? Well where's mine, you bugger!? I've been a good boy this year as well
  5. Lawyer, activist, prisoner, Prime Minister - they do say there's no such thing as a 'job for life' anymore. But he's up there with Lincoln, Ghandi, Therasa and all that crew in terms of legendary (genuine meaning, not popularist) status and his impact on humanity. Not just 'a politician'.
  6. On the news now people are gathering at Nelson Mandela House...oop, there's Del Boy come out to tell them all to **** Off! Peace and reconciliation no matter what went before is what he'll be remembered for, by most anyway. The boy sure had a bit of thinking time, didn't he?
  7. There's too much history. This argument that the only problem is that he's a sag is akin to saying the only problem with Linda MaCartney running a slaughter house id that she's vegetarian, the only problem with Neil Lennon taking over the church of England is that he's Catholic and the only problem with Boris Johnson taking leasership of the Labour party is that he's Boris. He's not just any old sadsag. My only grudging respect for him is in the words of that 442 article. Even he knows it'd be selling his soul coming here.
  8. Some things are just inherently wrong; him coming here is one of those things. Trying to think of an appropriate ananolgy but just can't put my finger on it. I would definately suspend my affiliation to BCFC until he was gone.
  9. Just wanna see a lady with obesity issues belting out Nessum Dorma, a Wurzels number or even a Jack FM regular in the shower would do.
  10. Ah yes, Miahdennehy, as your lot demonstrated perfectly in 2007, on an obviously smaller scale of course <wink>
  11. Off work at 1, straight onto a bus then a pintt in town/hotwells then BS3 if time. Done it many times, have even been known to cycle bloody hippie that Ip am. I appreciate that's not possible for everyone but don't see parking as a major issue in this debate either.
  12. Exactly. Bus Pub-Crawl has been my traditional mode of transport.
  13. As beaverface says; parking seems like a bit of a red herring. It's an issue a more compitent council would deal with re public transport. Secondly, what's AG's record attendance? 30 000ish? and we managed then. Also, the last time I went to the hellhole that is the Madjedski stadium it took an hour to escape after. We could also build a multi-story car park around AG. Not being a $azy bastard, I
  14. The area doesn't need a Sainsburys, the sole purpose of the idea is to benefit share-holders, nothing more. Plus I believe the flattening of the site is wrong on every level. Plus I hate Bristol R*vers. The unfavour of the month -the green counci- deserve credit if supposed progress is denighed in this instance. As for AG/AV - I was never for a move. The identity and tradition of our club would be further up in smoke. Let's emulate Norwich or West Brom, not souless bores like Reading. Rather be at AG in league1 than play in a different colour, be called City Robins or play in a shopping mall.
  15. Shame, my Newtown newts were neutered as I needed no new newts.
  16. What a diplomatic approach to employ at this moment in time. However, were you preaching it to your fellow sags over AV or our relegation? Infact, isn't the identity of R*vers based squarly on the fortunes of Bristol City? Because that is your reputation. Secondly, this is a football forum not a local council/town planning one.
  17. Well what do you know? The glea they took over Ashton Vale, the paranoia about SL being the wealthy resident putting in for a JR given their overt attempts to highjack AV and now this...... absolutely priceless.
  18. Sorry if the point's been already made - it's already a five pager over about 2 spoken quotes - but how about we wait and see what happens and cross the bridge then? Nothing like conjecture, conspiracy and all round fanny attacks to keep things interesting, though, eh? I know, it's a forum, it's what we do.
  19. Don't know whether to laugh or cry reading this so I'm kinda doing both. Come On City!!! let's just knick it....
  20. Well I s'pose self-defence is fair game, but as none on here are likely to know the exact reality of each and every of the 16 cases then really the whole bloody thread's just what it is, unfounded speculation in the main. This ain't a court of law, mate.
