  1. What a blooming joke.

I'm fed up with this pathetic club. The board are a shambles.

What then, Mr Lansdown, was the point in giving sod time when we were rooted bottom and on a 20 game win less run? We are slowly turning the corner. The ship has swung around, and about to feel the full wind in her sail...

I could understand it more if we lost on sat with another dire performance, but this makes no sense after a decent display against one of the leaders.

Is this for real? They keep asking us to be patient, and buy into their philosophy, then do this.

We deserve to go down now.

Ummm, we DID lose on Saturday with another dire performance. keep up.

  2. I have, since he arrived at city, (though not so much recently) been on regular talking terms with Jet, and he told me direct that one of the main reasons he came here was because he was assured he was going to be allowed to play 'his' football and it wasn't because of money, or because of SOD.

He told me how much being stuck out on the wing has stalled his career and both Ipswich and Cardiff did that to him.

He also said that tracking back etc was just not part of his game and it was more or less agreed in principle that it wouldn't be expected, confirming this free role.

He also said he is fit, has been since he arrived, and is the quickest at the club, just doesn't have the role of motoring about.

If he's going anywhere they will know how much of a luxury he is, and a talent, but in a competitive league like the champ, not many teams can afford that luxury, he didn't even get it in cardiffs playoff season.

I for one hope he stays forever! But as someone said earlier in this thread, here at Bristol City he will always be a big fish in a small pond, he's not a team player so will struggle again at a higher level.

Cash in if its big imo.

And just where exactly did SOD play him for the entire second half? Stuck out on the wing.

  3. . We are as professional in our approach to matches as any other club, i'm sure, but the fact that we are second division clubs naturally mean that we are not as talented as United and the like. Therefore, substandard performances come more readily, and will have nothing to do with drink.
Bucks Red, I think you'll find it was me who pointed out to you that we are not as talented as Man U.
  4. For all Manures faults team discipline will be pretty strict, and their players will be much more professional, than SOME players at our level. I wonder if this expains some of our, and Plymuff, QPR etc performances below par??

I hear the occasional story of player x's(Sometimes named, sometimes not) antics, some City ones too over the years, not just Jacki!

It sounds to me as though you are comparing Man. Utds players (I wont call them Manure when we're discussing the death of one of their players) to the likes of ours, Plymouths and QPRs. Footballers from all levels will enjoy going out and getting ######, but I think it is an insult to our management team to suggest that Bristol City players are more likely to be affected by this than any premiership club, not just United. We are as professional in our approach to matches as any other club, i'm sure, but the fact that we are second division clubs naturally mean that we are not as talented as United and the like. Therefore, substandard performances come more readily, and will have nothing to do with drink.
