  1. Wife just reminded me that we always book the early sitting for dinner as it gives more time to take in the shows etc.
  2. We've done several and just love it. Generally I think the drinks package is expensive so think you have done the right thing. My Wife doesn't drink so I normally order a bottle of wine for myself at dinner, drink half and then they save the balance for me until next day. Never been on Iona so unsure what facilities they have for the kids but would be 100% sure they will have plenty to keep them occupied. Certainly always plenty for adults. Some people find the formal dining nights a pain in the bum but we always embrace it, dress up in our bestest clobber and enjoy ourselves. Ensure that you have a good comprehensive travel insurance as taking sick and ending up in the onboard infirmary can be an expensive experience as my Mother found out some years back. Just enjoy yourselves, relax and take everything in. BTW, I'm jealous !!!!
  3. The reason I subscribe on a game by game basis rather than monthly or annually.
  4. For many years, it was believed that the name came from the fact that the original series was sponsored by the New York World Telegram newspaper, thus becoming known as the ‘World’s Series’. However, popular as this explanation may be, it’s not actually true and although the newspaper did report the results of the games, it had nothing to do with the naming of the competition. The real reason behind the name is thanks to Barney Dreyfuss who was the owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1903, he wrote to the owner of the Boston Red Sox challenging them to a ‘World’s Championship Series’. The Pirates were the best team in the National League and the Red Sox were the best in the American League. The games went ahead and Boston won the series five games to three. Over time, the 'World’s Championship Series' name has been shortened to the World Series and has been played every year apart from 1904 and 1994.
  5. Condensed Version Southampton: Alex Scott, was at one time a member of the Southampton Academy City win 1-nil COYR
  6. I remember flying back to Dublin after the final. I am looking the doggies gonads in my City shirt and am in row 23 of the Aer Lingus flight. Get on the flight pretty much last to find that rows 1 - 22 are nearly all Hull fans also decked out & celebrating accordingly. What started as friendly banter as I walked down the aisle started to change circa row 15 and I was getting totally pissed off by the ***** !!!
  7. Agree with that Moz but my main concern is that we need to concentrate right up to the final whistle whether that be 90 mins or 97 mins. We concede too many at the death of a game, Saying that yesterday was a great result and lets hope we can build on that. Maybe the cup run has instilled some well deserved confidence.
  8. Agree, and IMO that does seem to be the trend every season.
  9. Annoys the living carp out of me
  10. Source & source ? PS: I had them spelt correctly and this forums software obviously corrected it !!! Says a lot about the problem. S a u c e & Source
  11. Not at all. We won by scoring more than them. That is the purpose of the game.
  12. We won but i understand your point. Who gives a carp. Winning is all that matters.
  13. We won and that's the whole idea of the game. Long may it continue regardless
  14. Good result but we really need to work on this issue of concentration until the final whistle which isn't always right on 90 mins. Anyway upwards and onwards.
  15. A little disappointed that the team didn't have a huddle outside my kitchen window to show " we are in it together" but are forgiven now we are 2 up.
  16. Can't wait to get it done TBH. The first replacement has been great so hopefully this will also. Will be my 7th knee op in total !!!
