Hardly bawling our eyes out. Just not making excuses like 90% of the people on here who are blaming the ref or knocking one out because the players ran around a lot

The cold hard facts are is when it mattered, we made the same costly errors we’ve been making all season.

The facts are we lost to a top team, that for most of it, looked shite as we outplayed them. If you bothered to go you’d see a improvement in the way we played.  The best we looked for a long time.

JET,Jackie and Palmer, the talent was there in all 3,Jackie is a hero to many dispite not doing much when you look back on it and JET was hit and miss,Palmer just seems to like the life of being a pro without actually doing nothing to earn it

Jet was quality with a good return on goals, a so called Luxury Player just not good enough for the Prem, it’s his style which confused many by being lazy.   Jackie banged everyone’s misses so I’ve been told.
Palmer thinks he’s better than what he is imo.

Where are all the square peg, round hole comments yesterday….ah, we won.

He’s a massive talent.  Not seen a 18 year old (in fact he was 17 when making debut and start of this season) look so confident at this level in a City shirt since another 17 year old - Lloyd Kelly.  He understands the game, that is a massive advantage for him.  Nige can play him out of position and he can still impact a game in all areas of the pitch.

As for when Tanner is back, then I think we need to see him in a flatter three in midfield, let’s not rush him into a no10 position where he can get lost.  We need to get him on the ball.  Centre Midfield is his position, it’s where he also plays for Eng u19s.  In the centre of the pitch he can influence 360 degrees, he can get on the ball.  The more touches a player like Alex Scott gets, the more likely we are to play better football, the more likely we are to build attacks and control more of the game.

    Excited.

You are bang on Dave, I seen him as a 10, however reading this and with him playing at wing back, he could be the most complete midfielder this club has every seen.   I really believe that!

I agree with all of this. I think he’s a good footballer but, for me, he has a mistake in him and makes them far too often. Coventry away was the perfect example of this. He was excellent up there in the first half and looked a real player, then ended up getting the wrong side of his man, bringing him down and giving away the pen.

Yesterday I thought he did okay in the main in his defensive work. Yes he dropped off his man a few times but overall he was solid, for me anyway. It was his distribution at times that let him down v Derby, he just kept giving the ball away. And I think that comes down to the lack of confidence you mention.

Vyner looks destined to me to be that promising academy player who never quite progresses to the top level because of the confidence and concentration issues he clearly has. But to say he’s not interested, as the OP suggests, is unfair and ridiculous in my opinion.

Carey had the same traits early on mind..

Will be interesting to see what happens when Tanner returns.

Does Scott move into Weimann's position?

    James back now too.

Then how about when Williams returns and if (big if!) he can stay fit.

Scott has played well at right wing back so he might stay there.

This is what we want competition for places. Exciting as the confidence is building now we have found a system that works.  Alex for me is a CM the kid has it all.  Skillful, intelligent etc etc….

  6. Yesterday’s match showed what he can offer us, with someone powerful with pace along side him.  IMO, watch other matches where we’ve struggled and he’s out numbered when the ball flys up to him, yesterday He had a partner to that worked with him.  The movement 1st half was very good and TBO it should of been game over.

  7. Bentley is a good keeper not a great keeper, Great shot stopper yes, keeper no.  What is most frustrating with Bentley is his ability to read a cross, could of and should of cut out these crosses low across the six yard box. The second goal Sunday one example. Scared to come out and flatten players on high balls into the box.  IMO..
I wouldn’t want him to be sold, these minor problems in his game can be solved with coaching.

As for Franky great player for team and the club.

This is something I’ve been wondering too.
Whilst Simpson is clearly one of Pearson’s signings, has something happened whereby Simpson is actually now one of the ones who Nige is calling out??
Seems odd to me that he doesn’t play and we end up playing a teenager out of position.
I can only assume that Simpson is one of those players that Nige keeps calling out as not ‘on the bus’.

    I think you are correct.

Don't forget Tyrone Ming's played for Yate town and Chippenham town before signing for Ipswich by Russell Osman ,what do we look at ?

That’s more depressing, what a missed opportunity. They need to give Brentford a call on how they find these gems..

Pearson has been here for what, 9 months ? When we had King & James in the starting XI we may have looked marginally better, but results were not.
I don't see why Pearson should get a free pass, he picks the team, sets the shape and style . It may be a big, big ground up rebuild, but you still have to focus on the first team. Relegation would set us back years, with no guarantee we would bounce back.

If we could get James, King and Williams back and keep them fit, I would hope things could improve. Sadly we can't be sure how soon that might happen, and you can't be certain that it would make the difference we hope it will.

We know they will improve the situation we’ve all seen this for our very own eyes. Yes we need them fit, and we need others to step back on the bus.  We have no choice in giving him a free pass this season, we haven’t got the funds. We need to trust it’s improving behind the scenes 1st then hopefully we will see this improve on the pitch.  Frustrating as it is for us all it is what it is.  A total shambles from past mistakes now coming to affect.

And this possible appointment was derided by many on here as being unambitious and dull.

Personally, I don't see the value in dumping Pearson now. Where are the better options out there?

Mark Robins has turned out to be a very good coach.  Was he ever in the running, or just speculation?

I’m not sure he would of took on such a big project. Yes he got Coventry to the Championship. But he’s walked out on clubs in his career and once before rejoining the sky blues. That’s a Risk knowing the owner.
Nigel has a reputation of building foundations like he did at The Foxes.  Can he do the same here? Sir Alex had a difficult start at Man U and was one game away from being sacked if it wasn’t for Robins goal against Forest, I believe.

Yes we are at rock bottom playing poor football, sometimes even school boy football.  That’s not down to NP at the moment, that’s down what’s happen in the past.  It’s a ground up rebuild. We need more experience within the starting 11 fact. Once we have that we will start to climb the league.  If SL pulls the trigger now we will be never get off the merry go round IMO.
We are having moments in games where we have had chances to score and should have. That’s an improvement.

Wow I was right….. who would have guessed.

He was embarrassing today. He was a disgrace today.

    Tell me he is improving.

    Leauge 1 at best.

Get shot as soon as possible.

It’s who he plays with.  HMN got youth on his side but he’s another that can’t do it yet. They both need better players around them.  He does frustrate, he’s got this season to start being consistent and improve on the not very good Attributes.  he was poor today I do agree with that.
