is it a specific sky sports channel that only gives the red button option

On sky itself, usually either main event or football.

If it's Virgin, there used to be a separate channel specifically for it, but not sure if that's still the case or what the number was.

How do you get a full match screen on Sky Q - mine is split in two with the game and the other side text commentary of the main game with updated league tables!

Push the back button - bit like trying to watch something from a channel you don't subscribe to when you get the message at the top of the screen saying press red to upgrade - just push back and it goes to full screen.

Not the point I was making. Glad our young man doesn't officially have an OG against him. Nothing wrong with that.

Even if it does get credited to him, doesn't matter, thought he, along with everyone else played really well.

Kalas for me though, was our best player (edges it over Scott who had a quieter second half). He is looking sharp, committed, and playing with that hunger we've seen many times before. Played really really well. Hopefully we can come to an agreement for a new contract ?

  4. Let's see where we are at the end of March/mid April first. Currently a good run from anyone can propel them up the league, whilst a bad run could see trouble.

Momentum is on our side at the moment, and it would be great if we are the one team that usually puts a run together to be in the mix every year, but let's not get all Rovers-esque by thinking we can get the playoffs.

Friday 7th April is the first definite date as that’s Stoke away. Sheffield Utd shortly thereafter.  I would guess in view of the additional time to get sorted they will do the away kit when they can line up shirts to buy at the same time

No what I mean is that I'm pretty sure the goalkeeper must be easily/fairly easy to pick out from the rest of the players on the field.

With that in mind, we can't wear it when we're playing in red, and unless we wear the away kit (whatever colour that will be) even if there is no clash with the home side, surely it won't be used much as it will be too close to red?

  6. Ok, maybe a stupid question  but bear with me.

Assume the pink goalie top is the away one. Also assume that it won't be worn when we wear the red shirt, as it could be seen as  not different enough from the outfield shirts (colour blind issues as well)?

When we have to wear the away shirt, it's because the home team will be in red, so when are we likely to use it?

Sounds like we were struggling to get kit over for the playing squads, hence having to fast track the new kits.

I read it as soon as we have enough stock for the whole squad to start using it we will

Seems like there is a lack of spare kit for the current squad hence having to update

As above. Comments about changing mid-season are stupid, it's quite clear that by doing this, along with the supply issues of replica kit (most of which have probably been used by the squad if there's that much of an issue), means that if you have no new kit to wear, and can't get any of your existing kit, then something has to give.

By bringing forward next seasons kit, it means that we haven't got to play in skins!

In the latest issue of “local man is liar”, Sam Frost has travelled deep into Joeys rectum to reflect on two years of Barton at the gas. It’s quite the read.

    https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-joey-barton-two-8177027

”With 10,000 gasheads in full voice, nothing seems impossible at the Mem”

”Attendances at the mem often break through the 9,000 barrier”

Lets just check how often nothing seems impossible by seeing when 10k rovers attend, and also how “often” (dictionary definition: Frequently) that 9k barrier is breached:

    Oh.

    37F1F474-099B-4361-8849-34B507155466.jpeg

So ignore the facts (as they do), what you're saying is, that despite all the hot-air that gets blown up their asses (from themselves, the club, and Mr Frost), their biggest crowds are between 9-9800 (let's round up and add a few on to make it look better), and then those are the local teams that are quite likely to bring a few thousand themselves because it's a local "derby".

    10,000 gasheads. Where?

I live near Yate and don’t want them around here. Like @bcfc01 I would become a nimby.

Better fire the muck spreader up just in case.

I guess Parkway is hundreds of miles away, along with no public Transport going anywhere near the Mem.

I honestly can't see them ever moving anywhere else.

They won't/can't buy land and build a new stadium anywhere, because they simply don't have the money to do it.

They also won't go anywhere to groundshare, unless the hosts are just completely stupid and want to lose their ground - let's be fair they have form for it!!

As others have suggested before, their best option is to rebuild their existing pit, stand by stand. It doesn't have to be all at once, and then that way all of the inmates can spread about elsewhere, and wouldn't have to worry about their capacity being capped because of the building works (don't laugh at the back). They own the land, what's stopping them? Oh yeah, money!!

Unless a big investor comes in (and I mean a real investor, not the fake one they have in charge at the moment), I really can't see them ever doing anything major.

If the finances are there, and let's just say for arguments sake they have the  cash, then they just need to be realistic with a rebuild. They don't need a 20k+ seater, they just need something that will house them comfortably. Then if, and it's a big if, they ever get to the point where they're pushing capacity, you just expand what you've previously done by adding onto it.

If we were in their position and them in ours, I really wouldn't give a crap about having something shiny, new and just as big as them if you're never going to fill it. I'd just be happy with something shiny and new, and not something rusting and likely to blow away if you breathe on it too much!!

Be realistic. However we all know that that is impossible with them.

Joey’s Rover’s future must be hanging by a thread, in fact the only thing that’s probably keeping him in the job is Wally is scared he’ll get a cigar stubbed in his face if he tries to sack him.

I think it may be that he can't actually afford to pay him and his many hangers-on if he sacks him/them, and that the very nice man with the expensive watch is hoping that Joey boy walks away.

Barton isn't stupid though, and I'm pretty sure that with his recent ramblings, he's doing his best to get sacked.

  11. Got my wife a chromebook for Christmas, as Currys had a really good black Friday deal on at the time (Asus model).

Decent little machine, and on average for what she does (teacher so lots of planning, searching youtube and office/PowerPoint docs) the battery lasts about a week with a full charge, and that's with a good 2 hours or so usage 4/5 days through the week at least, maybe more.

She's really happy with it, she's not moaning about the crappy work laptop which has no battery so has to be plugged in, so I'm really happy!!

We've got about 60 in school and all seem good, and are fit for purpose (I have no idea what they use them for).

I think personally, and I'm sure someone with a better technical opinion will correct me if I'm wrong, if all you want to do is basic browsing, watching the occasional video(s), doing a bit of work on (through office 365) and like a really lightweight machine, then a chromebook will probably do you.

If you want it to have dvd drives (which you can get external ones for chromebooks to be fair), large storage space, and to play games on, then you'll probably/definitely want to look at a more expensive option/full laptop.

Friendly Records, Bedminster, couple in St Nics Market and Rough Trade.

We're staying at my parents in Long Ashton and drove past friendly records earlier actually, that's what prompted me to ask the question. We don't really have any up by us, unless you're willing to drive 45 minutes at least, and then to be honest the prices that some of them want are just ridiculous.

Anything I did have years ago I got rid of, as the last stereo system I had that had a turntable gave up the ghost. At that time to replace it with a turntable was up near the £800 mark, so just got rid of everything (didn't have loads, but stuff I wish I had kept now).

Got a decent-ish stand alone a few years ago and slowly building up a collection again, but predominantly just keep my eyes open on the usual online places.

Thanks for all the suggestions, will try and check a few out if we have a bit of time.
