Sounds similar to when they hounded Paul Trollope out. He did a decent job of keeping them in mid table but that wasn't good enough for them so they got him out and then tumbled all the way down to non league.

Stopped them from finishing mid table though didn't it. Gas logic means that was a successful result.

Seen this this morning and thought....really?

Commercial director Tom Gorringe says no club other than Tottenham Hotspur have done more to improve their ground this summer than Bristol Rovers.

If thats improved infrastructure then we play at the san siro

    Jeez...

You can dress it up as much as you like, but at the end of the day a turd is still a turd.

    Unreal...

I'd have Darrent Bent here now if his wages were affordable.

Has he got a club at the moment?
There were rumours a month or so ago that the Central Coast Mariners were after him.
Looks like we might be going for Ross McCormack instead now.

Trouble is, his source was Henbury Gas....

    Ross McCormack ???

Goodness knows why. Building blocks are the fundamental elements of a permanent building. Not something they are used to.

Unless the lads are allowed to play with the Lego at half time if they’ve been good boys.

    Megablocks.

Generally cheaper to buy, and are much larger, so less chance of standing on them.

Actually now I say that, I wonder if Wally is thinking about using megablocks for the new build....

Been told this morning Wael's close to selling Rovers having met with new "investors" last night.

Clearly he's looked at the club and realised there's no new stadium potential (they even tried doing The Mem up and f***** that up), no new training ground and they're out of their training ground at the end of this season, and no hope at all.

Lets hope the new "investors" are as rich as the last ones ?

He didn't meet anyone last night.

He had an email from a Nigerian Prince yesterday, who has promised to buy the club from him, and all he had to do was give him his bank details so that the Prince could have a real in depth look into the accounts.

He responded last night (I can see where your source got confused) with all the details, the Prince is happy, and Wally is just waiting for the money to come through before announcing the deal.

If it comes off we will be in trouble ?

    Thought he said "financially STITCHED" ????   ?️   ?️   ?️

Financially stitched up!! He needs to leave, and I actually think that if/when he does, he'll do a hell of a lot better when he's actually given some money and decent facilities to play with.

Let's be fair, given the circumstances he's done a bloody good job at Ragass. Just hope that when he leaves to take up a new managerial role, it's not down at the dogs home!!

Are there actually any other teams in the football league that have a tent as a stand?

Not sure on that, but I have come across this prototype for the new Rovers ground though.

I have it on very good authority that this is Wally's favourite "top secret" proposal, and he is currently trying to get the family to give it the go ahead. That is where things may become difficult though, as they've only just bought him a new tent for the travelling circus.

Anyway, without further delay, here it is the new Rovers Ground concept:

You need to change the nets obviously, but other than that it's good to go - and state of the art compared to the pile of crap currently in Horfield.

    Scum? Hmmm okay.

Yup, scum. You heard. Not just a term used by us, as many other clubs supporters have come on here over the years, and said similar things about your lot. I doubt you get anything like that on your forum, as anyone that doesn't swear allegiance to the blue and white gets banned anyway.

Thinking you could get a decent ground for a pittance in 82, taking over the Mem, punching ?...

That's not to say all City supporters are angels, and I know some decent Rovers supporters (grew up with a few).

You're a decent poster (for one of them), and actually quite like reading some of your posts. I still stand by my original comments though :boxing:

Then see the campaign led by the local rag and north and east Bristol MP's for a ground share with us "for the benefit of all sports fans in the city|".

The only time that scum will ever be associated with Ashton Gate, is if SL took them over and closed them down.

Of course that will never happen, as there is no benefit whatsoever to him doing that.

Gasheads have been stranded in Europe due to flight chaos.

Bristol Rovers fans travelled in their numbers to support the League One club in their penultimate pre-season game away at FC Eindhoven on Wednesday.

Around 300 fans made it to the DOSL Sports Park in Leende, and many have been left stranded in Eindhoven after Ryanair cancelled their flight to London Stansted late last night.

This week the airline has been hit a 48 hour strike by cabin crews, and have been cancelling flights across Europe with thousands of passengers disrupted.

New star signing Ed Upson says Bristol Rovers are in great shape to start the season

Passengers, including several Bristol Rovers fans, left stranded in Eindhoven

The cancellation of the flight back from Eindhoven left football fans scrambling around for ways to get back home.

Some fans booked alternative flights, some stayed at the airport waiting on the reserve list while others have booked flights at airports hundreds of miles away, including Amsterdam and Dortmund at their own cost.

One Rovers fan told BristolLive: “How ridiculous is it that we can get over here to watch Rovers play Eindhoven but we can’t get home to watch them play at the Mem just down the road?”

The same fans have booked a driver to take them the 100 miles to Dortmund in Germany where they have secured flights but will not get home to watch The Gas play Exeter City at home this afternoon.

The Rovers squad successfully flew home from Amsterdam at lunchtime on Friday but by half-time against Exeter, wish they hadn't.

Don't believe everything you read in the press. They've gone on strike because of that lot, just didn't want them on the plane after the outbound journey. Cost a few grand to clean the plane upon landing.
