  1. This has been a great watch. For all the fuss (rightfully I guess) he’s been absolutely eclipsed by Foden tonight.
  2. So they want to build a 60k stadium alongside world class multi sport campus., Good luck to them, but this plan doesn’t seem grounded in reality to me. Is the football club the vehicle needed to develop the real estate?
  3. That would make my commute go through the duel hell of Bristol and Bath in rush hour
  4. One thing I have noticed, is that there’s an awful lot more wildlife North of Yate than what I saw around Pucklechurch and Shortwood. A barn owl being a particular highlight recently. Anyways, to keep this on topic - Train is a none- starter tomorrow as the trains back are woeful. So it looks like a drive all the way to Bris for the P&R. Or would it make more sense to drive to Portway? Could be worse, in at least they’re viable on Saturdays.
  5. I’ve not been in…but more soulless than the Knights Templar??? I may have to check it out
  6. I’m guessing someone in the hierarchy has a mate lined up for the post.
  7. As long as it stays that way, because the alternative routes are nice and light in comparison* *Apart from Henfield lane in rush hour.
  8. That’s it boys, I think we can claim the entirety of BS37
  9. Take him to CS High Street on a bank holiday.
  10. It’s a new bit of Yate, abit like Lyde Green.
  11. Anywhere on that line really, including Parkway ect. When the train to/from Parson street align with departure from Temple Meads, it’s much easier, and with a rail card cheaper than that P&R
  12. That argument works for both camps I would suggest. For me, I’d take results over performance everyday of the week - however there’s come caveats with that 1) Not the odd win every so often, but over a long spell 2) success breeds confidence, and I think this produces better performances over time.
  13. Agreed, but it’s certainly been an enjoyable watch. Not even sure why I put it on, but glad I did.
  14. You don’t have to look far for examples of your very valid point - My history of watching City is littered with the “next big thing” never getting further than an occasional bench player. Marvin Brown always sticks out to me. And I wonder how his career would look if he came through our system now.
  15. Initial knee jerk reaction - Because it’s easier to pay lip service to something than you know, actually do it properly and fund to the level you want to achieve? More considered thought - How to the cat 1 academies operate. Is day of the game travel the standard?
  16. That is still without doubt the oddest thing I’ve heard a seemingly functional* adult come out with unprompted. “There’s City fans waiting outside Geoff”. Did they make it up on the spot? Was there more than one that was spreading this weird rumour? *ok they support Rovers which you could argue is a red flag.
  17. Funnily enough, I was excited when we signed him as in my Football manager long play (into the mid 30s) Dire Mdude is a club legend at City (who apart from 1 season in League 1 have been Championship mid table stalwarts). Anyway, fantasy land aside I think it’s reasonable to say this signing has been an absolute disaster for all parties involved, and it’s gently concerning. There will always be ones that go wrong, that’s acceptable, but the energy and political capital that went into justifying this move in the first place doesn’t sit well.
  18. I don’t disagree. Unfortunately there’s one person who derailed every single ex player/manager thread. Maybe they should have had their own sub forum instead….
  19. Oh wow, nice bit of casual homophobia there. Hopefully you’re about to go on another break.
  20. I think it marked a distinct change in the relationship. Despite some grumbles (let’s not forget the very idea of the supporters trust grew legs because of disquiet of his early approach) by and large he was very much perceived as a “fan owner”. There was good engagement, very good engagement in fact (the guy literally attended kick arounds in the park). Fans forums happened frequently. Then he moved, and little by little the relationship changed. We went from “it’s my money” (absolutely fair) to “it’s my club”. I think having to step and save Jon from his disastrous tenure as CEO seemingly killed the relationship with fans. It’s a shame.
  21. Wish it was like that more often. Makes the Man City/Villa game last night an absolute snore fest, though at the time it felt decent in spells.
  22. Yeah that was incredible for the entire 90 again.
