  1. Surely the surgeon here should be more professional when giving evidence, I would have thought in a court of law the claimant's husband should have been referred to as Mr Minger. It appears standards are slipping in every walk of life
  2. Bought a 20L Meaco Arete just brilliant ,wish I had bought one years ago. Can't believe how much water is extracted . Not cheap but worth every penny. If you have a problem with condensation this will fix
  3. I would have said more likely to be a fan of this bloke
  4. Please can the 13.58 pm from Temple Meads stop at Parson Street. Not sure how this helps but pleased to be of assistance.
  5. Sir Alex Ferguson signed a contract with Manchester United in 2010 that ensured he would receive a higher salary than any of his players, the Scot has revealed in his latest book. In his new publication "Leading," to be published on Tuesday, Ferguson says the Glazer family that own United and then-chief executive David Gill asked him how he felt about the fact that Wayne Rooney was about to get a big pay rise by signing a new deal following protracted negotiations that took place while he was also linked with other clubs in the media. The former United manager recalls: "I told them I did not think it fair that Rooney should earn twice what I made and [joint-chairman] Joel Glazer immediately said: 'I totally agree with you but what should we do?'" "It was simple. We just agreed that no player should be paid more than me.
  6. Just bought a Travel Lodge advent calendar. Still got all the chocolates in it but you can’t open the windows.
  7. I was offered some very cheap German fruit bread at the Christmas market. A great deal, but it was probably Stollen.
  8. I have no idea what NSEW means so just googled it :- "A random adventure taken by a person or people that are high or intoxicated that usually leads to accomplish absolutely nothing but can be quite entertaining and memorable." Perhaps this is the way forward send them out half cut
  9. Heads up Bargain Hunt Xmas special this Monday at 12:15, let's hope the Blues can end 5 years of hurt after the Reds have won an astonishing 4 Xmas specials in a row. Also BBC confirmed a special highlights package of King Charles coronation on Boxing Night, sure to be a good watch.
  10. What is worrying is this over reliance on data, if it was just a case of analysis to produce the best outcome you may as well get an AI program in house. To make a team better than the sum of its parts numerous unquantifiable components come into play , carrot or stick for some players etc Man management plays a huge part in making sure 11 individuals from differing backgrounds perform as a collective. We seem to have employed a one trick pony .
  11. Sorry unable to assist but found this which gives some context to the match. https://the1888letter.com/arsenal-v-bristol-city/
  12. No mention of Norman Wisdom or Darwen standards appear to be slipping. Safe journey and enjoy the game
  13. Anyone hear Colin Murray last night talking about Forest and what a good job Steve Cooper had done with a virtual team rebuild every season . He then went on to say some teams whatever they do seem destined to remain in the championship, citing Stoke and Bristol City as prime examples. Harsh but fair ?
  14. Yes you would think so but the reality will be different, a few half heated shouts then business as normal. As a fan base we appear to be apathetic. There is a lot of noise and bluster on this forum which fails to materialise on matchday.
  15. As an aside My neighbour's 4-year-old has been learning Spanish since lockdown. He still can't say "please" though, which I think is poor for four.
  16. Strange, mine was one of disappointment
  17. First match I was allowed to go with my friends rather than with my Dad, Spurs V Fulham 1967 El Tel got sent off for fighting Fred Callaghan who later had a distinguished career as a London cabby. At the time Venables was not popular at Tottenham as he was bought in to replace the great Danny Blanchflower and despite being an England international did not compare well. Excellent manager however and good bloke. RIP Terry and thanks for the memories
  18. Decent little quiz Respectable 9/15 for me https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/nov/16/quiz-can-you-identify-these-former-football-grounds?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  19. On a positive, neither has Mark Hughes or Steve Bruce
  20. Just seems to be one of those days I have some Himalayan rock salt that had “the purest mineral content that had been formed over 2 million years”. Regrettably I went to use it whilst cooking breakfast, and it turns out it had passed its sell-by date a week last Tuesday. How unlucky is that FFS?
  21. No idea what this means but probably nothing to do with comics.
