I find it so baffling that Jon Lansdown seems to think he knows more about training and fitness than Pearson, Euell and Rennie. Madness

But to be fair there's a few who post on here who seem to have a similar attitude.

I think that's being naïve about our historical performance. Look back down the years and we've spent a tiny amount of time in the top tier. Like it or not, the Championship/L1 level is where we've historically played most of our football.

And I'd suggest that "tinpot" is dismissive of the Championship, one of the most competitive leagues in European football and playing at a level equivalent to most top tiers (excluding the obvious big few). No shame in being an established team at this level.

Agree completely, not long ago Tranmere Rovers away or Leyton Orient at home  were approached with trepidation, being at Swindon when we were bottom of league1.

We now have a state of the art training complex ,together with a multi purpose stadium. and an established place in the championship.

We all want on field success but it is important to get the building blocks in place as well to sustain long term viability (Wigan / Portsmouth failed ).

I have know idea how people can say we are stagnating ,underachiever's probably but stagnating never.

You only have to look across the river to see a club desperately treading water.

But if we are all saying the same thing, perhaps it is SL who is wrong. Just because it's his money, doesn't make him right.

Of course not I think we can all agree that mistakes have been made in his tenure and he is aware of that.

Brighton and ourselves were very similar ,new stadium, rich local owner and look how are trajectories have differed since that play off final.

It's comments like he is building a nest egg /not interested in football  which i find disingenuous he could spend £10m a year for the next 100 years and still have a quarter of his money in tact.

Only he knows his intentions and some of the comments on here do him a great disservice.

Isn’t this entire forum people with no real professional football experience thinking they know better than people that have been in football their entire lives? That’s sort of the fun of being a football fan.

Unfortunately some on here believe they are experts ,known as barrack room lawyers, they are persons who likes to give authoritative-sounding opinions on subjects in which they are not qualified.

Take it all with a pinch of salt if they knew what they were talking about I doubt they would be wasting their time posting on OTIB

  5. Came across this little gem for cheap and safe matchday  parking which i had no idea was possible.

You can book parking at Sainsbury's for match day  without fear of being ticketed.

For example to park for the Plymouth match costs £6.34 which is pretty good value.

  6. I'm surprised at this anti SL feeling, whilst we can all agree that mistakes have been made who would be a better option.

American investors ? I see the Glazers are well liked in Manchester , Saudi blood money ? or some dodgy property speculator.?

No one buys a football club for altruistic reasons they want a return on their capital or at least not costing them money.

This is Lansdown all over, no man management skills. A weakness/misunderstanding (to be kind) of managing human beings. Good football managers are brilliant at it. Pep, Sir Alex, Sir Bobby, Jurgen to name a few are/were masters.
Lansdown should read Sir Alex’s autobiography. He might learn a thing or two about football teams etc.

Self made billionaire, frightening to think what he could have become with man management skills.

Unsure how far off it he is but he could easily in theory go away for a 3 year stint at Bayern, win a few trophies and maybe the CL and return to break it in the final years of his career maybe.

Or maybe he breaks it this season then joins Bayern on a free in 2024-25.

As someone pointed out on Twitter - go to Bayern for 2/3 seasons, win everything, then return to fire Spurs back into the Prem.

Wasn’t F Troop the name of the Millwall thugs at the time? Similar to City's CSF

Yes hence the reason for the chant, I had no idea why after 50 years I should recall such an insignificant moment when I can barely remember what I had for last night's dinner.

  10. I went to that Spurs v Brighton match and to say it was dull would be an understatement.

However it was the first match after that infamous BBC Panorama on Millwall hooligans.

All I can recall and I have no idea why nearly 50 years later is the crowd chanting "you can stick your effing F Troop up your ar*se"

It’s interesting how the way people see the game has evolved.  I think this is the main reason why certain more senior members of the crowd around me get very frustrated and continually shout “Forward!” when city are keeping possession and probing for an opening.  They just don’t get it

    That'll be me.

Agree , will be a very different squad next season. Marsch signed a lot of the squad and expect many to return to European football. Ayling & Cooper will stay plus they’ve got a sting youth team. Add in the fact not sure the additional investment will be forthcoming as a championship club

    Is that their B team.?
