want us to end 49 years of hurt and reach the FA Cup Quarter Final.

On Tuesday, February 19th, 1974, the two gentlemen pictured in the centre and centre right positions, witnessed our team's triumphant 1-0 victory at Elland Road over the Mighty Leeds United in the 5th Round. Can you name them?

The one behind the late Queen is obviously Bill Shankly and would I be right in thinking that next to her majesty is a young Tom Cruise.

  2. Most prolific poster seems to be Davefevs  with 48800 posts.

Just done a quick calculation on this (assuming each posts takes 5 Minutes ) .

According to my calculation this equates to 169 days or just over 6 months continuous posting.

Or to put it another way Liz Truss's tenure as PM and Brian Clough in charge at Leeds combined would be less than half Davefevs posting record on OTIB

Football is a simple game made complex.

    It's an art form.

Art is a creative expression of ideas.

Sport is a display of skill/exertion in a competitive format.

You can perform artistry in a sport  but that is a showcase of skill and technique rendered artfully, not art.

My view is that was a result of lack of patience and trying to “force it”. Of course it’s a worry, but I really hope we’ve learned that keeping the ball and working the opening is key.

Like Spain proved against Morocco ?

I just hope we go on the front foot play to our strengths power and pace,  not spend the first half hour playing Chuckle brothers football between Stones and Maguire.

What are you on about? Mancini oozes the kind of style that someone like you can only dream of. The suit was a classic summer book end look. As an ensemble his outfit successfully harnessed the wistful and bittersweet reflections that are so often carried on the last few breezes of the warmer months.

Missed the suit was hypnotised by how uniformly black Mancini’s hair was.

For me, yes.  It’s my escape, it’s my father / son time.  Yes, I can do something else, but I don’t think we all had to be held to the same decision.

in response…Is the queen passing away at 96 that big a deal really?

    For me, nope.

For others, yes.  I respect your thoughts on this, but you don’t seem to think that others can react and fee, very differently.

    Well yes it is,

The Queen dedicated her whole life to service of our country.

To carry on normally does not mark that properly.

I am no monarchist but feel the postponement of professional football  is the right and proper decision.

  7. Just to add to the feelgood factor

"Rodgers ain’t a patch on Nige. Bring him back. "

"So jealous of the ride the Bristol City fans are going on at the moment. He gave me some of my favourite years following football, you just knew they were going to turn up week in week out and give absolutely everything. "

Going to be a bitter pill for a lot on here when we're in a lower league than Nige next season!

"That’s meant to be a robin – but look closely and it resembles one of those fortune-telling fish impaled on a rod.

And what’s with underlining the first half of the club’s foundation year? Is there a 1994 Bristol City?"

Hopefully the players can concentrate on the match tomorrow  without letting this devastating news affect them.

The winner? Nottingham Forest: "Exciting and utterly iconic in its simplicity,"

Too answer your question, no he is not one of the most over-rated players we’ve had (for that I give you Marlon Pack) on his day he reminds me of the one and only Gerry Gow, there is no greater compliment than that

I'm not having that, Marlon Pack was a very decent player for us and does not deserve your accolade.

    Interesting comment on that thread

"Love Nige, my favourite period of supporting this club, bar none.

We absolutely need someone in his mould, someone who can galvanise and create a work ethic and team spirit here again. We've turned into a bunch of individuals with no fight and no spirit. Clubs like ours have a lot to gain from nurturing the right atmosphere. We've got 'good' players, but until someone comes in and sticks them together properly that's all they'll be."

Obviously we await a verdict before saying too much but I think Ferguson & Neville are really going to regret their decision to get involved here.

Interesting choice for a character witness, said individual was famous for threatening, bullying and intimidating match officials and indeed the odd player or two.. one received a cut eyebrow at half time.... Hardly Mother Theresa
